Vikrant Massey & Tamannaah Bhatia did not charge ANY MONEY for 'O Romeo' reveals Vishal Bharadwaj; Here's why

The upcoming film O Romeo has been drawing attention as one of the notable projects in Vishal Bhardwaj’s lineup. Featuring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in lead roles, the film also includes Vikrant Massey and Tamannaah Bhatia in important supporting parts. While details about the storyline remain under wraps, the film has stayed in the news due to its casting choices and production related discussions.

Recently, Vishal Bhardwaj revealed an interesting aspect of the film’s making, sharing that both Vikrant Massey and Tamannaah Bhatia agreed to be part of O Romeo without charging any remuneration. According to the filmmaker, their decision was based on their confidence in the script and their long standing professional regard for him, especially as the project was being made under budget limitations.

Speaking about Vikrant Massey, Bhardwaj explained that the actor had committed to the film several years ago, at a time when he was still building his career in the Hindi film industry. When the project resumed after Vikrant gained widespread recognition following 12th Fail, the actor chose to stand by his original commitment and completed the role without taking a fee. Bhardwaj also shared that Vikrant had earlier expressed how Maqbool played a significant role in inspiring him to pursue acting, making his involvement in the film particularly meaningful. Vikrant reportedly shot for approximately eight to nine days.

Tamannaah Bhatia also joined the project without remuneration, primarily due to the film’s financial constraints. Although her role is brief, Bhardwaj noted that it plays a crucial role in driving a major plot development. Tamannaah reportedly agreed to the role immediately and ended up filming for nearly twelve days, more than what was initially planned. She also participated in workshops and rehearsals to prepare for her character.

The film has also faced speculation regarding delays and budget challenges, which had raised questions about its progress. However, these recent revelations highlight the collaborative effort behind O Romeo, with the cast coming together to support the project creatively rather than commercially.
