Look what I found guys. Salaries of the TMKOC characters. I'm very much interested in how things work in general and particularly about the tv industry production process. Coped some of the figures for those who're interested.

Jethalal 50k per day (works 25 days a month)

Daya 40k (works 24 days a month)

Babuji 35k ( 21 )

Tapu 10k ( 14-16 days)

Taarak Mehta 32k (20-21 days)

Anjali 25k (13-15days )

Iyer 23k (10-13 days)

Babita 30k (16-17 days)

Bhide 30k (18-20days)

Wow, that's too good for standing in a semicircle and saying one line per episode like ' kyu re 'roshan ' or 'oh re khudai' or 'Gogi dikra' .

On point. 👏 New Roshan Bhabhi knows zero acting. I am really surprised that she got this role and makes so much money when there are tonnes of great theatre and out of work tv actors.

TMKOC cast seems like a friendly bunch that's why they always hang out together offscreen also. Roshan could've even worked for free for the fame/ego boost and kitty party bragging rights plus a great way to spend your time. 😆

But I guess Kismat ki baat hai.

New Roshan was selected not because of her acting skills but because she is a Parsi. They didn't want to bring an actor and then tutor her for such a small role.

She looks pretty young to have a son of Gogi's age. She looks totally out of space.

why does the over actor bapuji gets 35k/day and a good actor like Bhide get only 30K/day. Bapuji roles are sometimes forced and very annoying were as Bhide always brings humor. Well as i guess it is just cus bapuji comes from Gujarati stage and so does Asit Modi.

Paying 22k a day for a non-actress is more cost efficient than getting a really good actor who would need tutoring for a couple of days if that? It's not like playing a Parsi character is so hard in itself that only a native can do justice. There's a film "Being Cyrus" or "Cyrus" where Nasserudin Shah, Dimple Kapadia play Parsi characters. It's not that hard.

Of course the naysayers would contend that these are really famous veterans. However on tv, all daily soaps have so many actors of all ages who play Rajasthani, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali etc characters when they're not in fact from those states. I fail to understand why playing a Parsi would be deemed so difficult.

Is it some yet unexplored phenomenon where playing a Parsi effectively onscreen is so arduous that only a few underground cults know about it and keep it a secret lest people start churning out Parsi character-centric films for that all important career boosting Best Acting Oscar. Maybe playing a Parsi character would be on par with playing a disabled or autistic but special character which Hollywood actors covet, for that all important Oscar nomination.

IMO she's really a lucky lady.

Good question. I was also hoping to steer a discussion in this direction. However, I like both the actors so can't choose which one I like better.

My grouse is with Babita. She's also getting 30k when any pretty and well educated Mumbai girl could play that role while Iyer gets only 23k. Maybe we should really discuss this. I know some production houses where new lead actors get 7k a day and when they demand more, are replaced by other newcomer actors at 7k a day.

Perhaps it will give Miss Munmum some jitters and help her get off her high horse. Insulting well-wishers on your Insta is such a petty thing to do.

I don't think Roshan is that bad.I had seen her in Kasamh se long back and she was terrible in that show.She has somewhat improved even though she gives zero expressions.

Being a Parsi is an advantage for her.I don't think any other actress would have auditioned for this role so she got it.

One more thing is I feel Roshan is a smart lady.She made friends with the cast and crew quickly.That's also another advantage.

@caraj4u,Champak is an important character in the show because he is Gada.Everybody worships him because he is the eldest member of the society. So obviously he has to be paid more. Plus,Asit modi is biased towards Gujaratis.
