Deepika's dad's heartfelt letter was borrowed from a book?

While the world shed tears when Deepika Padukone read out a letter written by her father, few know the letter "written" by Prakash Padukone was part of author Sudha Menon's book 'Legacy: Letters from Eminent Parents to Their Daughters'. While there was no mention that the letter was drafted by Menon after interviews with the subjects spanning several hours, the author has got her due with Chanda Kochhar's letter to her daughter, which has suddenly gone viral. Again, this letter was part of the book and publications which have picked up this letter have credited Menon's book. Finally, she's on cloud nine.

Actually it was mentioned. And does it matter? DP wasn't going to get on the stage and say, "So this is a letter written by my father...and published in "Legacy: Letters from Eminent Parents to Their Daughters" by Sudha Menon...go buy the book!!"

Really?? who even cared to search it...it was a letter from a Dad to her daughter...if he took inspiration from a book..so be it...who cares...

He didnt take inspiration from the book. The author took his interview and wrote the letter herself. This letter which someone else wrote based on his interview Padukones passed off as his letter.

Poor Menon, atleast DP should have given her the credit. Menon did all the interviews and compiled the letters and the praise was taken by someone else. 😭
