Well to be honest Sona also invites trouble to herself by being too nice n good hearted n committed for her own good.
If you take slap on one cheek and offer another cheek what will you get ?? Only another slap.
This is not fair but this is how the world works . Only fighters can survive n thrive here.
I don't think his character writing is inconsistent . I think its a deliberate attempt by the CVs to present him as an extremely damaged guy in the beginning in the show so that there's some scope for character arc . Some space to change develop n repair.
Kudos to Shaheer for portraying this role so realistically. In the hand of any less capable n less charming actor this same character would have appeared outright intolerable.

Guys I have 2 things to say. Yes, Dev has been deliberately sketched in a way to portray this very damaged person who can be shrewd outside but at inside a very fragile human and I think this is what he is at the moment but it will be love that will heal him and make him a better person.
Sona is indeed very nice and someone said it is unrealistic to see her fall for someone so harsh and cruel towards her. What I can say about this is by quoting Shakespeare."Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind and therefore is winged Cupid painted blind."Sona will see the inner Dev. The one who did anything for his mom and she will heal him with his love. At least thats what I'm getting from this concept. And that is why it is bringing a new shade of love. She will become his backbone, his support system and his everything and will transform him but when it comes to his Mom, he will not disobey her.

I haven't watched the show regularly so my opinions may be a bit off, but I'll try to answer your questions as best I can.
1. After Sona took the job, he's generally been nice to her. I mean, there's obviously some friction between them, but that's that. He just started to get a little annoyed when she started interfering in his private life, i.e. buying him a shirt. He wants to keep the relationship professional. But he doesn't realize that keeping Sona in his house will quickly make the relationship turn personal rather than keep it professional. And he doesn't blame her for everything. When Ishwari first got sick after eating all that horribly fattening food she made after dismissing the cook, Dev didn't immediately blame Sona. It was only afterwards when Sona kept quiet that he blamed her. Even then, it's kinda understandable. He didn't know the cook had been dismissed and thought Sona had failed her job.2. Said earlier, he's generally respectful to her and keeps his distance. But when it comes to his mother, he cannot think straight.3. Did he know she was gone on a personal leave? I mean, I don't remember Sona telling Dev? But yeah, he felt as if she didn't do her job properly. She just left without leaving food for his mom (it's his fault tho he didn't notice the list on the kitchen). He was rude there I agree.4. Regarding his behaviour with Sona. I just don't think he's used to someone constantly challenging him like she does. So he behaves by lashing out. In general, I feel like Dev's childhood scarred him in more ways than one. Both Dev and Neha are extremely defensive people who feel like they're always being attacked by others, even when they aren't. So their tendency is to lash out. A good example would be when Sona first told him she got some tests done on his mother and that he wasn't taking care of her. (Sidenote, that was pretty rude of Sona to insinuate he wasn't taking good care of his mother). Sona was probably making a general statement but Dev took it as her attacking him and he responded back harshly.5. I don't think Dev really knows what happened with Khatri. I doubt Ishwari has told anyone that Khatri tried to molest her. So it makes sense that Dev didn't realize he lived there/ it was a big deal that Khatri lived there. He's only realizing it now, seeing Ishwari's reaction.I agree in that Dev's character is definitely pretty rude and brash. But I also think it's pretty fitting for the way he's been brought up. Neha and Dev are both damaged people and its reflective in the way they treat people. Neha is shy with others because she hasn't been outside that much and doesn't have much experience tehre, but she's harsh with her family members because those are the people she's always been around. Dev is the opposite. He's nice to his family members but he's much harsher towards strangers. Probably because he went to school/ got educated/ spent more time with strangers and had to bear their taunts and hence developed a harsh skin around them.I also think Dev is kinda emulating the behaviour he saw growing up. Like in that flashback scene where Ishwari broke her employers vase when she caught Dev skipping school to teach him a lesson, the employer was kinda mean. So we can presume that Dev and his family were treated like dirt because of their poor status by many others and he witnessed how people with money were treated differently and treated others. Hence once he got money, he basically treats people like disposable entities. Sona's right when she talks about how Dev thinks money means he can treat people like dirt.
