Do you think Katrina was the right choice for Fitoor?

No one is Right Choice for Any Particular Film Unless You Make it that Film Your Right Choice!

From whatever cursory reading of reviews I've done, people have said Fitoor's primary problem was the script. If a movie is bad, NO ONE can save it by acting well (numerous examples of great acting in failed movies) and no one except Khans can save it in terms of box office collections. Katrina's acting performances or lack thereof passed well enough in movies like Namaste London, New York and ZNMD because the scripts were good enough to carry all the actors and these are also movies which are generally mentioned as her best.

Correcting the accent isnt as easy we think. It sometimes even takes forever. We speak Urdu at home and my sister still can't get the right accent instead she's a pro in Arabic. She herself has mentioned in many of her interviews that her biggest drawback is getting the accent.

Katrina was the star name used to sell this movie.

Unfortunately it blew up in their face.

for how long its been freaking 13 years yet what i got as her fan sm passable perfomances like ZNMD,NY,MBKD...never a perfomance to reckon with. if she is working hard thn why im unable to see it..moreover im done with defending her...her so-called hardwork cant cover her inability to act

13 years in bollywood and she still couldn't manage to speak hindi well,get the accent right.All she did in her entire career is constantly blinking your eyes,this isn't acting.Playing the same characters in all her films yet she hasn't given a single performance that worth remembering.

She was main reason behind failure of the movie. She got screen time, acting chances in this movie n she spoiled it with KNORR.
It sticks out like a sore thumb coz baby Firdaus was played lovely by the child actress

Yes she is the right choice if you want to ruin an outstanding novel like GE. Poor Dickens must be erupting out of rage inside his grave.

I have read their is no adaptation of GE which has lived up to its hype

I think people are being overly critical of Katrina. The script was half-baked and was not entirely faithful to the novel. One can hardly blame the actors for that. Katrina was fine in the role.
