Alia - Akshay to romance each other?!

This year we will see many fresh pairs romancing each other; Ranbir Kapoor- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan- Mahira Khan, Salman Khan - Anushka Sharma, to name a few.

While the fashion of casting younger heroines opposite older actors is one of Bollywood's most reliable strategy, we hear actress Alia Bhatt is about to be cast with another 40's club actor. After being cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Gauri Shinde's next, Alia might just land a project with Akshay Kumar.

Director of Badlapur, Sriram Raghavan is planning a thriller and is considering Alia and Akshay in lead roles. The film will be based on scriptwriter-turned-author Sheeja Jose's bestseller "Gone with The Bullet". The book contains fictionalised versions of several true incidents.

In an interview to a leading daily, Sheela revealed, "I think Sriram will agree that Akshay Kumar would be perfect as the brooding, dark assassin and Alia Bhatt as the new-age girl in love. It's a hatke romance against the backdrop of bullets." [sic]

What's the story about? "The story follows an 18-year-old girl who falls in love with a 40-some thing assassin." [sic]

However, this isn't the first time that Akshay and Alia would be sharing screen space! For those who don't remember, in the 1999 thriller, 'Sangharsh', Alia played the younger Preity Zinta.

If all goes well, it would be really interesting to see Alia and Akshay together.
