Preface

Why we call Ram Rajya was good for the common people? What made us to dream our leaders to be as good as King Ram. Leader should lead us in good path and at the same time guard us. Ram never showed him as a god of protector (Vishnu) but he always protected his subjects. Lord Vishnu showed us that there is no need for the supremo to come and protect or help the needy directly. A human being can lead a life worth to be called him/her as god.

So for those who believe Ram as god, he showed how even a god can live a life like human and still be wise. And for those who believe him as human, he portrayed how a man/king can be worshipped as god.

After the banishment of Sita, it was not that always Ram sat down and cried thinking about her. Yes, he was hurt but for both of them, duty was above love and affection because they were King and Queen of the Ayodhya.

So hereby I go with my fictional stories to highlight how King Ram ruled the kingdom without any discrepancies. I don't want to bend the Ramayan to fit our current time period to give solutions for the existing problems, but to show how Ram made judgements (in my opinion) for those social issues which even now exist. Whether those judgements can be accepted or not, may defer from person to person. So I am eager to know how each one react to the same problem.

The FF is divided into three parts each narrating the story in 3-5 chapters.

Part I: Inclined Lord Shiva Linga

Chapter I: Ardhanarishvara linga

It is an early morning in Ayodhya after a month of Sita's banishment. Even before the sun rises, the priests entered the Ardhanarishvara linga mandir with all pooja thalis to perform abishegam. It was the wish of Sita to start off the day in Ayodhya with the pooja for Ardhanarishvara linga. Though all people including those in palace did poojas even before that practice, this particular mandir is very close to Ram and people of ayodhya as it was built on the request of Sita and opened to public by Ram.

The day after the pattabhishekam, when Ram entered the room in palace, he found Sita to be lost in her thoughts. He enquired about the same to her.

Ram: What made you to lose your thoughts without even knowing my presence?

Sita: Nothing, just mesmerized in watching the sunset.

Ram: I returned only after completing sandhyavandana. So tell me what is that bothering you?

Sita: (As she understood, she cant hide her thought from her counterpart, she told the truth) I miss the divine Shiv linga which I made out of the sand in Rameswaram.

Ram: Don't worry, we will construct the Ardhanarishvara linga near the palace and perform poojas.

Sita: Why to construct Ardhanarishvara linga when linga itself symbolize the union of shiv and shakthi?

Ram: Though lingam represents both, the equality of masculine and feminine energies of the universe is illustrated through the Ardhanarishvara linga. It shows they are inseparable.

The next day, Ram asked for the permission and suggestion from the kulguru Vashisht to construct the temple. After his approval, the construction took place and the lingam was carved in one single granite stone taken from Kasi. On an auspicious day, with the presence of gurus, rishis, sivachariyars and all people of ayodhya, the mahakumbabhishekam took place headed by Ram and Sita. Ram declared that any one can enter the temple and perform pooja.

The moment the main gate is opened, the whole people in a radius of 50 kms around the temple wake up from their sleep and starts their days work. The architecture of Shiv mandir was such that each stone in the compound wall had the rudraksha and the inner prahara had the panchakshara stotram inscribed on it. The ringing of the bell was the mantra OM.

All priests followed the chief sivachariyar and they opened the door of garbhagriha. All are shocked and they cried "Om Nama Shivaya" which reached not only Ayodhya palace but even Mt. Kailash.

haha When I wrote the preface itself, I wrote the chapter 1😆
@bold: No, I wont incorporate Uttara kanda Ramayan. Sita is a part of Ram, so she will be there always in flashback but no Lav Kush.
