SanyašŸ¤— Some more thoughts as promised! 😳

Dadi
First off - Dadi - kinda guessed it would be her bcoz you said the loyalties of the inner circles dated back to a few decades - so if someone had the capacity to infiltrate their trust then it should be someone who Mr. Mehra trusted.. Who better than dadi? She was Mr. Mehra's mother and eventually people who trusted him will trust her too..

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned - her love for her son blinded her - she couldn't see beyond her son's death and assuming it to be a murdered by an innocent woman (pragya) - her own DIL - when in reality it was a suicidal move by her son.. Mother's love sets even the right to wrong and she was no different. Her son was suffering from a fatal disease - and to her credit she wasn't aware of it - nor did she notice her son carefully to see signs of pain - hard to miss signs with cancer - well again she is a mother and she didn't know.. And when she was made aware of her son's death - if the old woman had used her brains to analyze the situation @ hand she would have seen things differentlly - that one reckless act of her son to make pragya agree actually helped her son - because he didn't have to live through the pain of treatment and other health procedures and suffer.. Pragya did help her son to not go through the painful ordeal..

Dadi also couldn't deduce that her son went too far to get pragya to accept the deal - she was blinded by her son's love and to get her grandson back that she didn't realize an innocent soul was being played at in this process.. Pragya never owed her son anything - period!

If only dadi realized the foolishness of her son's actions when he cheated on his wife, condemned it vehemently -- then, probably her grandson wouldn't have left to Canada for good.. And, she wouldn't have done what she did! There was no reason nor a strong motive to seek revenge as the mistake lay with her son all along.. She failed to instill values in Mr. Mehra..

In this whole revenge process, she hurt abhi her own grandson the most.. More than his own father, Abhi would have been shattered knowing the extent to which dadi had gone - planning to kill his wife was above and beyond - wonder how he even confronted dadi - the same daadi for whom he agreed for this callous deal when he had been living a good life away from MM.. The same dadi with whom he shared all his feelings - the same dadi for whom he didn't do anything against his dad (after his mother's death) because he knew dadi would be hurt if something were to happen to Mr.Mehra - she betrayed him even after she knew about his love for his wife - his happiness lay in his wife? The truth would have taken a toll on abhi - couldn't even imagine what he would have gone through!

Staying away from her grandson is punishment enough for the deeds she had committed, in her old age..

Abhi
Had a bad childhood - no happy family nor parental love that he yearned for - but he had to see his parents who bickered all the time - had to see his own mother commit suicide at a young age - stayed away from his father and loathed him with a vengeance - sought solace in music - and left his family to stay with his maternal side relatives.. When he was summoned back to get married (through emotional blackmail) by his dadi - he had no choice but to agree.. Slowly but gradually he was changing by the innocence of his wife.. He was attracted to her, her selflessness and yet he couldn't act on it because she constantly reminded him of his father.. Although he was against having a child without love, he was clueless by his wife's actions many a times.. He was protective of her, possessive even, took care of her when she was sick, addicted to her chai and defo happy about their physical relationship - but amidst this he was also planning to seek revenge from his father and get everything back -- subconsciously he was slowly drifting away from the revenge plan he had underway and even he didn't know when things got so complicated.. Like a man on mission, nothing could deter him from making the final call and seek revenge that he had so carefully planned or so he thought until his love for his wife conquered it all.. He jus couldn't make that call.. He got something so precious and innocent in his wife that he jus couldn't let go or make her suffer.. His guilt made him ready to seek forgiveness from his wife and make her accept him back.. When he did, he had truly achieved what he wanted - he had everything that he has a little boy wanted as a child - "a happy family" - his solace in music, his love by his side (his wife) and a little bundle of joy (their daughter) - a happy family - "his" happy family!

Pragya
As you know she was a mystery to me from the beginning.. So where do I start? šŸ˜‰

Struggled through her childhood to reach a level in her career and become independent only to become a pawn in Mr. Mehra her mentor's conspiracy.. Agreed to a loveless marriage and made a deal out of the only thing she valued - she was constantly for keeping her emotions at bay and figure out ways to come out of this deal but try as she might she couldn't help fall in love with her husband.. Being alone throughout her hubby's gestures and caring nature won her heart for good.. Although she took time to understand her husband - and when she finally did fall for him - she was left heartbroken to see her love (husband) had wanted to revenge her for his father.. Amidst all this, she somewhere knew all along that her husband loved her too and deep down she was sure of his love.. Being a fighter since birth and the only thing running in her veins majorly was to get what she wanna -- she fought back for her love - and as a team they fought against all odds. They complete the each other, period! She seeks the comfort/love in him that she has been deprived off by keeping herself way too independent.. He has become her strength and when she finally became a mother it was because of love.. Their daughter is a proof of their love - a symbol of their beautiful family.. They were destined to be and as a couple they finally found each other..

The "Deal"
Eventually it was the deal that the two signed that bought the star crossed lovers togetheršŸ˜›

Totally loved it and the aura of mystery you had created throughout the fic - the characterization was fabulous.. Everyone had multiple layers to their personality.. Nothing was actually what it seemed yet it was all that it was.. The facts well articulated - you did give a lot of hints yet we were never really closer to solving the mystery.. For a really long time, I had thought Mr. Mehra wasn't really dead - and it was you in your SH avataršŸ˜† Loved how you showed the different phases of the relationship b/w Abhi-Pragya.. It was a beautiful journey of Abhigya that I enjoyed as much as you had penning it down if not more.. You made me fall in love with both of them equally in the end (You do know I always loved your abhi morešŸ˜‰.. Or maybe I still do jus a tiny bit morešŸ˜†)!! Hats off!! Loved every bit of this fic!!

Waiting for the next journey of your Abhigya! Whatever be the genre you decide for the upcoming one, I know one thing for sure - "We are all already on board, Sherlock"! šŸ˜³šŸ¤—

Frenzy,
Now it feels like YOU😊. As usual you are spot on about everything.
I would like to add few bit about Pragya

Pragya

Pragya had a guilt of Mr. Mehra's death. His death could have been avoided if Pragya had accepted the deal or at least assured him in some other manner. Mr. Mehra told her just before his death, I'm doing this so that now you can believe me.
She did not trust him enough and he ended up dying to gain her trust.

The guilt of his death and respect of his last wish, were two main reasons of Pragya's determination to complete this deal.
She did not know about Mr. Mehra's personal life and his relation with his son. But Mr. Mehra's suicidal decision made two things clear to Pragya - He wanted Abhi to be back and start a family.

Pragya was sure that Abhi will be somewhat similar to her father. Hence she wanted to keep her mother out of this mess and decided the same for her child as well.

Pragya observed Abhi a lot. Slowly she became his admirer and she also had an idea that Abhi was unhappy in this marriage. Pragya decided to give Abhi time to completely accept this marriage and be comfortable with Pragya. She had decided once Abhi will be normal with her, it will be easy to explain to him about his father and his desperation behind this deal. She had started thinking about her long-term future with Abhi.

But when she came to know about Abhi's girlfriend, Pragya's confusion about Abhi unhappiness in this marriage got cleared. Now Pragya had to decide between Abhi's happiness and his father's last wish. She chose the first one and thought to tell Abhi about Mr. Mehra's suicide and request him to fulfill his last wish. This manner Mr. Mehra's motive will also be fulfilled of bringing back Abhi and have a child. Medium will only change. Rather than Pragya, Abhi's girlfriend will be the mother. Everyone will be happy. Win-win situation.

Abhi's refusal for divorce on wrong grounds shaked Pragya in and out. Abhi was definetely not like his father. Abhi was a man of principles.
Also thoughts of losing Abhi to another woman had already created a havoc in Pragya's hidden emotions for Abhi. Now she became more determined to make this marriage work and also complete the deal.

Abhi's betrayal did impact her a lot but soon she knew that Abhi is guilty for his actions and his entirely changed behavior proved that he loves Pragya. By now Pragya has observed Abhi enough to know that he can keep torturing himself but will not come to Pragya to accept the deal.
She had to give him a strong jerk to bring out all his emotions and then she created win-win situation by using extra marital affair. It did work and Abhi confessed and more or less became ready for the deal.

Pragya had only one option to come out of the guilt of Mr. Mehra's death and that was Abhi should have a family. And she exactly did that, once again Pragya was successful.
Pragya never expected love on this road but when she found it, she grabbed it.

Pragya could achieve what she wanted only based on her determination, truth, and selflessness unlike Abhi, Dadi or Mr. Mehra, who took wrong paths and ended up creating the mess.

Pragya always had options for easy exit, short-cut, revenge but nothing could deter her from her path because she knew she would never be able to live with the guilt.
This is PRAGYA!!
