Peddi movie objectification controversy

Lot of talk going on about Janhvi Kapoor controversy in Peddi. This is regarding teacher's role she plays and wears sexy cloths. Why everyone forgets Sushmita wore sexy saree in main hoon na 20+ years ago ? Though it was a dream song. Finally atleast director of Peddi accepted mistake and going to make changes to already released film. What do you say folks ?

The makers of Peddi deserve criticism for reducing women to decorative props instead of portraying them as meaningful characters. In an era where audiences are demanding stronger and more respectful representation, relying on objectification feels outdated, vulgar, and creatively bankrupt.

Cinema has the power to inspire and influence society. When filmmakers choose glamour over substance and objectification over characterization, they send the wrong message while wasting the potential of talented female actors. A successful film does not need to demean women to entertain the audience, good storytelling should be enough.

No idea

Havent seen peddi but sush was very graceful in Main Hoon Na..there were no close up shots of her clevage or navel and there was no hyper sexualization..not everyone will have a role which takes the story forward..sometimes you have roles to fill in glamour but that does not mean you reduce them to vulgarity and sexualization..and even though sush had a role similar to janhvi's in MHN..the difference is that she and the director made it classy not crass

I am seeing the jump on BMS ticket sales. I swear influencers were paid by the team to talk about objectification. Everyone and his brother wants to decide for himself.

They pulled it off. I think the hero worked hard too.For fans that is always a reason to work hard to make a film a hit.
