Your prediction seems to be in the right direction. It can't be he sees Shagun, because it wouldn't make sense for him to be upset if shags is alive (therefore he assumes baby is alive). He has to have seen Ishita trapped in some aspect of the lie without the entire truth to be upset.

Tfs my guess is since the yesterday's segment of sbas was about bewafai I feel maybe raman n family will see ishita with ashok n then sarika would instigate him coz if they had seen shagun it can't be bewafai. Though have not seen the video but someone said about adi seeing ishgun n even simmi knows about it all lets see how all this will end

Not only that but Ruhi has seen Shagun, the Bhallas know there is a traitor in the mix, and at one point Raman thought Ishita was faking. But they also showed he is fully convinced of possession now thanks to their babaji trip.

So to show him MU Ishita-Ashok right now, especially if Ishita could still be possessed in his eyes or that multiple of his kids saw Shags + Mihir's questioning of Ishita's credibility, overall makes him dumber than dumb...
