Hey guys. This is Shiny Shajil *Bows down* and here I am with a very New Fan Fiction.
"The Memory" is quite organized and planned right from the start just like our wonderful Serial Reporters.
Each twist and each turn was sorted from the beginning, so have patience and go with the flow. I am sure your going to enjoy the Fiction as much as I enjoyed bringing it up.
The whole idea cropped up when my elder sister asked me - "What would have happened, if..." ( Well I possibly cant let out the secret can I?)
And immediately I was so overwhelmed that, I scripted the complete Fan Fiction in my head. It made me sleepless and filled me with the urge to shout out the story to you all , but I held on to my patience. I tried to organize myself and present it in an appealing manner. So this is the first Update of "The Memory".
But before you start, I would like to say that in my Fan fiction Kabir doesn't lie about Mr.Sudhir Kashyap's suicide. ( Well I was as angry as Ananya when I came to know Kabir Lied *Takes a deep breath to calm herself* )
And ya, RG doesn't have a screen space in "The Memory". All this happens after Kayas Engagement. When things seemed splendid. But Hey.. Don't get your spirits all high, because you don't know when things start to turn ugly, Do you?
Hold on! Hold on! I have another thing to say. Its very important, because if I don't mention this, then my stay at home would become quite unpleasant!! And I cant afford that!
*Clears her throat* I would like to thank my ever so beautiful, ever so brilliant Elder sister - Nijisha Shajil for having instigated me with such an outstanding idea. If not for her, "The Memory" would have never reached Indian Forum. I love you for everything, and I especially love you because your always ears for my "Reporters" ranting !!! *Blows A Kiss*
Okay so that's it. I am not going to annoy you all with my long , childish speech!!
So sit back and enjoy " The memory"
She held his palm in her hands and said out in a cry - Am I dreaming or is it really happening? ...
She blinked her eyes and swiftly wiped off the tears that threatened to wet her cheeks. She tightened her hold and said out - I knew you wont give up... I knew you will never cease to breath... I knew you...
Her throat dried and she said out in a whisper - I knew you will wake up Kabir...
His eye lids opened slowly and he murmured - Ananya...

A torrent of light made its way inside as Anita opened the curtains. The room lit up like a candle and her lips curved into a smile.
Her gaze then shifted towards where her daughter was fast asleep. The clock said that it was 7 am and yet Ananya was sleeping?
Anita nodded her head in denial and said at the top of her voice - Ananya!!! Wake up!! Your alarm went off an hour ago !! Ananya!!!
The cry from her mother had had an effect on the sleeping beauty. She turned a bit and then said sleepily - Ma... 5 minutes...please...
Anita smiled and came forward and placed her hand on Ananya and said shaking her daughter - Ananya... Look at the time, its 7 ... You had some reports to submit didn't you?? ...
The word "Report" acted as a rooster. The moment Anita said it Ananya got up with a jerk and said - Oh shoots... How could I possibly forget it ??
Anita was taken aback by this sudden gesture. But she was used to this. She laughed and remarked as she turned to go - Well.. At least now you realized it.. Get ready soon... I have made your favourite Sabji... And don't dare to go to the office without eating !!
Ananya immediately was up on her feet. She stretched out and let out a cry - Oh God its 7:10 !!! No way ma... I will have food from the canteen...
Anita immediately turned around to face her daughter and said - I don't want to hear a No from you Ananya... So better freshen up and be at the dining table for breakfast...
Ananya tied her locks into a bun and said - Okay !! Okay ma ! Fine.. I give in.. I can't possibly argue with Mrs.Kashyap can I?
Anita replied with a smile - Yes you cant ...
And she came forward and kissed her daughters forehead and said softly - Good morning my baby...
Ananya put on her camel bag pack and shouted - Ma.. I am leaving to the office.. I took my lunch box.. Tell Arman that I will deposit the money into his account on my way, so that he can pay his fees !! Ma!! Are you listening??
Anita hurriedly came from her room and said - Yes beta I heard you... I will inform Arman... I think he is still bathing... Take care and don't worry about anything .. And yes, do convey my regards to Kabir ...
The moment Ananya heard his name a smile crept in her face she ran towards her mother and hugged her and said - Sure Ma I will.
She then cupped her mother's cheeks and continued - And Ma.. Its me who should ask you to take care and worry not!!!
Anita smiled and replied - I will Ananya...
Ananya let go of her mother and said as she walked out of the door - Bye Mrs.Kashyap.. See you in the evening!!
And as she set her foot outside her mobile rang. She took the phone from her jeans pocket and looked at the screen to know who was calling.
Kabir wrapped a towel around his body and walked out of the bathroom. He switched on the the television as he dressed up in his usual's.
The same news was on TV. It was being telecasted in a loop in almost all the channels. Kabir gave a sarcastic laugh as he combed his hair and said to himself - How can people be so naive ? Like, who in this era would possibly believe in Ghosts ? Such a pathetic News to run!!
KKN was in the 1st slot but in order for it to stay there Kabir had to get his hands on a breaking news. But that seemed to be next to impossible. Its was as if the world of News had come to a stand still.
And now things were going for the worse, as the new news that was breaking headlines was that of a haunted college.
Kabir felt a need of a dark coffee to ease himself. He never thought that he would live to see such a day in the world of journalism.
He looked at himself in the mirror.
The EIC looked dashing as always. His gaze fell on the ring that wrapped his finger. Kabir touched it and said out - Hope you will be early today Ananya.
Kabir then went to the Kitchen to make some black coffee. As he was taking the kettle from the shelf his mobile rang. He took his mobile and looked at the caller Id . It was Inspector Kurana. Kabir answered the call.
And as Kurana talked, a smirk occupied Kabirs face. He said out - Well.. This is what I was waiting for... Now things are getting interesting.
Ananya ran into the coffee shop in a hurry. She bumped into a lady who was making her way out. Ananya said - I am so sorry... Please pardon me..
The lady appeared to be irritated with the encounter. But as her sight fell on Ananyas identity card she nodded her head in a hurry and accepted Ananyas apologies. It wasn't everyone's forte to argue with a journalist isn't it?
Ananya knew what just happened and she was relived that she had chosen such a profession. She pushed her thoughts to the back of her head and searched for Regina.
Ananya spotted her seated in the table at left corner of the cafe near the huge window. Ananya was suprised as Regina looked disturbed and her shoulders were stooped low. The last time she saw Regina was when she was covering a lead.
Very Tall and slender, Regina had these big eyes that looked rather unpleasant in her small thin face. Her locks weren't plenty and as days passed by, they seemed to be reducing for the worse.
"Don't judge a book by its cover" was what Ananya believed. And hence Ananya always adored Regina in spite of her physical and characteristic flaws because she was her college buddy and they had spent years together.
But today Regina looked completely disturbed.
Ananya made her way towards the table and said in concern - Regina.. Whats the matter ? You sounded not so good over the phone .. But now after having seen you...I would say that there is something really wrong... What happened?
Regina looked at Ananya and gave a weak smile she said - Ananya I am so grateful that you came upon such a short notice... Please have a seat...
Ananya sat in the chair and placed her elbows on the table and asked - Tell me Regina ... Whats the problem?
Regina said - Ananya firstly, I am so happy for you.. Your engaged to The Kabir Sharma ... He was always your idol wasn't he? I am really sorry .. I couldn't make it to your engagement... I was... I was a bit occupied with stuffs..
Ananya smiled . She traced the diamond ring in her finger and said - Thankyou Regina.. Its absolutely alright.. I know the world of journalism isn't an easy task... After all even I am a journalist...
Regina nodded her head and said - A good one too... Ananya you know its been about 2 years since I am working at NewsNX channel and I am still a junior Reporter...
Ananya replied assuringly - Don't worry Regina.. You have all the capabilities to become a Senior Reporters.. Just give it some time..
Regina burst into tears . She said - No Ananya.. I don't have time.. I just don't have time... If only I had become one a bit earlier.. Then all this wouldn't have happened...
Ananyas eyes widened she touched her friends hands and asked - What happened?? Regina why are you crying ?
Regina looked at Ananya and said between her sobs -My mother... She is sick Ananya... Doctors have diagnosed it to be a brain tumor...
Ananyas said in a whisper - Oh God...
Regina cried even further . She said in a sob - Ananya.. The doctor told that my mother should be operated today or latest by tomorrow... If not.. If not... I...
Regina completely broke down.
Many heads turned towards their table. Ananya looked around and held Regina's hand firmly and said - Regina.. Please don't cry... Nothing will happen to auntie... Just tell me how can I help you?
Regina looked at Ananya and said - Ananya.. You know right.. that my salary is less...
Ananya nodded her head. But at the same time her brain was calculating stuffs. Just now Ananya had deposited a huge amount for Arman's fee and the engagement had been another expense.. She was only felt with some money that could push her family for the next month. What if Regina asks for money? She cant deny her... There was only one option left, she had to ask Kabir... But would that be appropriate?
Regina said - And I asked the management for a loan... An amount of 10 lakhs.. But ... But they denied it...
"10 lakhs ? Where would I go for such a huge amount. I cant possibly ask Kabir for that!! Oh god !!"- Ananya thought.
Regina continued as tears left her eyes - But I begged and begged .. And finally they agreed to give the money...
Ananya let out a sigh of relief. She said - That's great Regina...
Regina nodded her head in denial. She said - No.. Ananya... They agreed to give the money.. But.. But on a condition...
Ananyas shoulders stiffened. She asked - And what condition is that?
Regina looked down and said slowly - They said that they would give me the 10 lakh only if I give them a breaking news worth that amount ...
Kabir was seated in his chair. He had his notepad on the table and he was jolting down all the facts that were provided untill now.
Kabir reread all the notes and took in a deep breath. He said out - I know that there is more than what meets the eye. Either its someone who is taking a full advantage of the drama that was initiated or...
His words trailed off as he saw a head peeping into his cabin.
" May I come in Mr.Fiancee?" - She asked with a grin.
His eyes softened at once. He sat back and crossed his hands and replied with a smile - You may come in Miss.Fiancee...
Ananya's smile curved even further as she stepped into the Editor in chiefs cabin.
She said widening her eyes - Aww .. You have worn my favourite black shirt, Did you do that on purpose or was it mere luck Kabir ?
Kabir raised an eyebrow and he replied looking at his Shirt - Well.. What do you make out of it ?
Ananya took a seat and said - Hmm.. My guess is that My boring Editor got lucky... When it comes to pleasing your Fiancee you know you hit a rock bottom don't you?
Kabir at once sat up straight and said placing is elbows on his table - Oh !! I wasn't enlightened about that...
Ananya replied as she adjusted her curls - Well now you do...
Kabir looked at her for a moment and said - In that case... You cant blame me Ananya.
Ananya asked quite taken aback - And may I know why Kabir ?
Kabir looked at his watch and said - Because My ever so beautiful senior Reporter never manages to come on time...
Ananya rolled her eyes and said - Like really Kabir ? How does your being a boring partner have anything to do with me being late?
Kabir smirked and said - You know ... I hate it when someone turns out to be late always !!
Ananya frowned and said - Oh... so your trying to convey that you hate me ?
Kabir replied quickly - I never said that !!
Ananyas face lost its colour and she said in a soft voice - You did kabir...you just did...
And she casted her gaze towards her fingers that were intertwined.
Kabirs eyes widened and he said - No Ananya... See I never ment that... Why are you taking things so seriously?
Ananya replied in a broken voice - Because your not serious about our relationship Kabir..
Kabir got up from his chair and said - What? Ananya... Why are you saying all this?
Ananya looked up and stuck her tongue out and said - Because I wanted to tease you...
Reality struck Kabir. He narrowed his eyes towards her and said - It wasn't funny Ananya...
Ananya giggled and replied - It was !!
Kabirs eyes softened as he saw the happiness in her face. She was the only one who could bring back his happiness. And he knew he was ready to go to any extent to see that smile on her beautiful face.
Kabir sat down and asked - Did you have your breakfast?
Ananya replied - Yes Kabir I did.., But my guess is that you didn't did you? So I asked Ma to pack you some breakfast. ( She took out a box from her bag pack and placed it on the table) here...
Kabir smiled. He said - Thankyou.
Ananya continued completely ignoring the Thankyou - And Ma said to say Hi to her beloved future Son in law...
Kabir smiled even further and said - I will call Ma today...
Ananya nodded. And her gaze flickered a bit.
Kabir bent forward and asked looking into her eyes - Okay so.. Can I know what's bothering you today?
Ananya looked at Kabir and asked - Bothering me ?...
Kabir said - Yes... Bothering you... You look sad Ananya... What happened? Don't try to hide anything from me !
"I just love him" She thought.
She said - You managed to make me go weak on my knees with that statement of yours Kabir...
Kabir replied - Now don't try to divert the topic...
Ananya laughed. She said - No I wont...
She took in a deep breath and continued - Kabir.. Do you remember Regina? I think I had mentioned about her to you... The junior reporter in NewsXS?
Kabir nodded. He said - Hmm... Your college buddy?
Ananya said - Yes.. The same one... Well today as I was coming to the office she called up and said that she wanted to see me. So we met up... She was completely broken Kabir. It turns out that her mother is fighting a brain tumor which must be operated by today or latest by tomorrow. And she is badly in need of money...
Kabir said immediately - How much does she need? Tell me, I will forward a cheque to her account.
Ananya smiled and said - No Kabir.. That's not required... She did not ask for money... She wants my help in another way...
Kabir asked - And what way is that ?
Ananya replied - NewsXS channel agreed to give her the money.. But in return they want a breaking news worth that amount...
Kabir gave a sarcastic smile - They know how to run their channel don't they ?
Ananya nodded. She continued -So Regina wants me to help her find a story... Its obvious that with the kind of stress she is going through , finding a breaking news will be nerve wrecking...
Kabir asked - But why go through all this ? Tell her that you can lend the money she wants.
Ananya replied - But then, she has to repay it , Isn't it Kabir ? And NewsXS doesn't pay their employees well like KKN. She will be indebted for life.
Kabir sat back and said - Hmm... So what have you decided...
Ananya gave a determined look and replied - I am going to help her out... Its just one news... What harm can it do ? And all that matters now is Regina's mothers well being... And anyways KKN is well of without a single news isn't it Editor ?
Kabir laughed. He said - It takes a hell of a nerve to inform your Editor in chief that your going to help a rival channel Miss.Kashyap.
Ananya made a pout and said - But The Editor in chief is my future Hubby isn't he?
Kabir smiled - Yes he is... Anyways, I too think you must help her out. And when it comes to you.. A breaking news always finds its way to your hands ...
Ananya smirked. She said - I hope it does this time... Because I really have no time to waste...
Kabir said reassuringly - It will Ananya.. Don't worry...
Ananya smiled. She thought to herself - But Tinu is completely void of any breaking news... I don't know what am I going to do.. I just hope God helps me out.
Just then her gaze fell on Kabirs notepad. She asked - Looks like I disturbed you Kabir...
Kabir replied - You can never disturb me Ananya.
Ananya blushed. She said - Aww... It looks like your in a very good mood...
Kabir nodded and said flashing a smile - Yes.. I am in a very good mood.. As I was thinking that my life of a journalist has come to a stand still, I got an interesting update... A very interesting one...
Ananya asked quite suprised - And what is that ?
Kabir said with enthusiasm - You know the case that's going around right... The haunted college? Java's school of Sciences'?
Ananya replied- Ya... I really find it stupid...How can they possibly believe in all this ? It all started when that Anatomy Professor Mr.Shubankar committed suicide by setting himself in flames because he was caught in the act of embezzlement.. Wasn't it?
Kabir nodded and said - Yes... And right after his suicide the supernatural events started to crop up...
Ananya brushed the strand of hair that fell on her face and asked - And when did you start believing in such baseless supernatural stuffs kabir?
Kabir smirked and said - Right after I got a call from Kurana, telling that the HOD of Anatomy department Mr.Rana Nalvadi was found brutally murdered right before the office where Mr.Shubankar had committed suicide.
Ananyas eyes widened. She whispered - What?
Kabir replied - You heard me right... The complete incident is under wraps... And in an hours time I will be visiting the crime scene... And what's makes the whole incident more intriguing is the fact that the whole murder was caught on cam...
Ananya was astonished . She asked - What? So who killed him?
Kabir came closer and said - No one... Absolutely No one...
Ananya stepped out of Kabirs cabin. What she just heard was an exceptional lead. She was surprised by the facts that Kabir put forth to her. So was it true after all? Does the dead still live on to haunt the living ? Was the murder a deed of the dead professor?
Ananya looked at her mobile. She had a new text message from Regina.
It read : Ananya.. I am counting on you, Please... I cant handle it if something happens to my mother. She is the only person I've got... Please Ananya...
Ananyas throat tightened. She quickly replied - Don't worry Regina... Your mother is going to be fine.
Ananya clicked the send button. And she sat down in her chair. She looked around. None of her buddies were to be seen. She noticed Ronis desk was empty too.
Her gaze fell on Kabir who was writing something in his notepad.
"The HOD of Anatomy department Mr.Rana Nalvadi was found brutally murdered right before the office where Mr.Shubankar had committed suicide."
" I am sure Ananya, that there is something in this whole incident which is hidden from us.. And once I find it this is going to be a breaking news of the century"
Ananya took her mobile phone and dialed Tinu's number.
She said - Hello Tinu...
Tinu replied - Namaste Madam ji... I know I am letting you down , but I am really broke when it comes to a breaking news for now... But don't worry I will keep looking out for one.. Tinu cant possibly deny helping out his favorite reporter isn't it?
Ananya said In a serious tone - I just need your help Tinu...
Tinu asked - What Help Madam ji?
Ananya replied taking a deep breath - I need your help in solving a case before Kabir does ...
