Roni looked at the monitor and asked with surprise - Sir, how did you manage this ? Like ... I am completely speechless..
Kabir gave a smirk and patted Roni on his shoulder and said - I hope you will be able to edit it and keep it ready by 9 Roni.. You have an hours time...
Roni looked at Kabir and nodded his head and said - Sure Sir...I will do it immediately, Don't worry.
Kabir smiled and said - And Roni... I don't want this news to leak and garner much attention, you know what I mean...
Roni said assuring his Editor - Yes Sir, I will see to it ...
Kabir nodded his head and turned to leave when Roni asked - Kabir sir , Should I mention Ananya's involvement in solving the case...
Kabir turned around at once and looked at Roni with questioning eyes - Why Roni?
Roni looked at Kabir and said - Sir I thought Ananya is also dealing the same case... And 'this' is the result of your team work..
Kabir furrowed his eyebrows and asked - Ananya... She is dealing the same case ?
Roni was taken aback. He was sure he heard Ananya mention over the phone about a murder in Javas College of science to Tinu . But here, Kabir was acting as if Roni was saying a new thing.
Roni said slowly - Oh... I mean... I don't know sir... I felt that as always, you both worked together...
Kabir looked on and then said - Hmm.. No.. Ananya was busy with another case...
Roni was confused. He was sure he had heard Ananya over the phone.
Trying to fight away his thoughts, Roni said - Oh okay sir...
Kabir gave a smile and said - This time I decided to go against the obvious Roni.
Roni gave a chuckle and said - Your decision turned out to be a success Sir..
Kabir gave a mocking expression and replied - I don't think your bestie would be happy with that statement of yours Roni...
Ronis eye widened and he said with a startle - I never meant that you were successful because Ananya wasn't by your side sir..I mean...
Kabir laughed out and remarked - Just when I was thinking I am the only one who is scared of Ananya's wrath , you proved me wrong Roni...
Roni rolled his eyes and said - Well Sir...
Kabir smiled and said - Okay Roni, I got to go... I need the job done before my bulletin.. Ya?
Roni nodded his head.
Kabir smiled and gave a pat on his back and walked out of the PCR.
Roni looked at Kabir leaving and thought to himself - I just can't imagine "The" Kabir Sharma is scared of our Ananya!!
The very thought made him laugh.
But then he felt all uneasy and thought to himself- But Why do I feel Ananya is upto something... Something that is against Kabir... Hope our Sherni (Lioness) doesn't land herself into trouble...It's high time I have a talk with her...

Khalid sat up straight and said nervously - Kabir... I never doubt you... How can I ?... I mean..you know me right ?
Kabir gave a sarcastic grin and replied - Of course Khalid ... I know you ...
Khalid fidgeted his fingers and said - Oh... Kabir !!! Don't be sarcastic with me ... After all, we are friends aren't we !!
Kabir gave a sloppy smile and said - I am not being sarcastic Khalid.. Its...
Just then Shreya entered Khalid's cabin brushing her long burgendy hair to one side and looked at the two men.
Kabir's facials tightened and he said, looking at Shreya - And See... talk of the "Friend" And here she is !!
Shreya narrowed her eyes and asked looking at Khalid , ignoring Kabir - Khalid, the peon said you called for me ?
Khalid juggled his gaze from Shreya to Kabir and back to Shreya and cleared his throat to Answer Shreya. But before he could, Kabir said - Yes Shreya... Khalid had called for you...
Khalid knew what this all would lead too. He said with a nervous expression - Well.. Yes yes Shreya... Please have a seat...
Shreya nodded her head and made her self comfortable in the chair next to Kabir and asked, crossing her legs - So, what do you want to discuss Khalid?
Khalid looked at Kabir, who sat back comfortably and took out this mobile and started gazing through it.
"Four Missed calls from Kurana ? How did I miss that?" - Kabir thought.
Shreya followed Khalid's gaze and looked at Kabir and asked - Okay, so what's going on here ?
Kabir looked at Shreya and gave a questioning glance.
Khalid cleared his throat and said - Well Shreya, Kabir...
Kabir gave a chuckle and remarked - Oh come on Khalid.. Don't you know Shreya is my ex wife ... So naturally her surname isn't Kabir .. Its Baghat !!
Khalid widened his eyes and before he could explain himself, Shreya showed her hand asking him to be quite. She looked at Kabir and said - Kabir , from the day I joined this office, I have made it clear that the past is the past...
Kabir snapped - Yes Shreya, the past is the past ...I never denied that!! Why are you acting as if I asked your hand in marriage?
Khalid was loosing his cool. He knew that things were going to get really serious.
Shreya looked at Khalid and asked with anger - Oh.. So Khalid you called me to your cabin to listen to such Nonsense???
Kabir smirked. But his smirk showed he was feeling disgusted.
Khalid nodded his head and said quickly - Oh.. No..no... Shreya ...
Shreya interrupted Khalid and said - I really don't have time for "such" stuffs...
Kabir laughed and said - Yes.. Sure.. You might be busy trying to convince our sponsors that Kabir Sharma is capable of bringing a good news isn't it?
Shreya looked at Kabir and said as realization dawned on her - Oh... So this is what it is !!! I should have guessed in prior!! I really don't understand your problem Kabir... See, I am the business head over here and I am the one who is Answerable when it comes to poor business!!
Kabir took his mobile and acted as if he wasn't paying attention to what Shreya said.
The whole while, Khalid was shifting his glace from Shreya to Kabir nervously.
Shreya took a deep breath and continued - So its my duty to answer our clients ... And what wrong did I do ? Everyone knows that KKN is lacking the punch it had before and so does our sponsors ...
Kabir looked at Shreya and said mockingly - Yes yes .. Very true.
Shreya fisted her hands and asked controlling her anger- Can I ask you something Kabir ? If your reporters don't bring you good leads, what do you do? You question them right ?.. So when our clients ask me for breaking news, do you suppose I have to go and question each and every reporter of KKN or should I question the Editor in chief?
Khalid thought -" Well the lady has a point there." But Khalid didn't dare to voice it.
Kabir chuckled and replied looking at Shreya - Yes Shreya .. You can question the Editor In Chief!! But you didn't do that !! Instead, you went running to Khalid!!! Pathetic!!
Controlling her Anger was now becoming a difficult task.
Shreya said - Yes ... Yes I went to Khalid.. And you know why? Because I didn't want to have another unwanted feud with you!! But what's the use ... At the end of the day here we "are"...
Kabir gave a disgusted look and said - wow very thoughtful of you Shreya... But I know the real reason why you didn't come and tell me directly!!
Shreya crossed her arms and sat back and asked raising her eyebrows - And may I know what it is Kabir?
Kabir placed his elbow on the handle of the chairs and said - Well Shreya obviously the small brain of yours would have blamed my relationship status for it !!
Shreya looked at Khalid who was looking as if he was in the verge of getting a panic attack.
Shreya brushed her locks with her hand and exclaimed - Wow !!
Kabir smiled and said - Shreya you will go WOW again, when you know how wrong you were !!
Shreya gave a questioning look at Khalid and said - What's all this about ? I really don't have time for all this !!
Kabir sat up straight and said - My Friend!! Just have some patience!! You were worried weren't you!! That I was getting deviated from my work due to my relationship...
Shreya tried to interrupt Kabir. But he continued - But you know what ? You can never understand me !!! You were wrong back then and so are you now !!You wanted a breaking news isn't it?? I have brought you a breaking news !!
Shreya gave a questioning look and she asked - Breaking news ?
Kabir gave a smirk and said - Yes Shreya... A Breaking news !! And when you hear it, I am sure its going to blow your mind... Considering the size of ur brain !!
Shreya gave a scowl and said - Kabir you better mind your words... I told you before .. It's you who is trying to take things personally!! I don't know what's your problem!!! Why can't you...
Kabir cut Shreya short and said - We can't Shreya !! We just can't !! And anyway, you were the one who wanted a breaking news so badly.. And now, when I am telling that I have a breaking news, your not giving a damn ?
Shreya sat back and took a deep breath. " I have to control my anger" - She thought to herself.
Shreya asked slowly - Yes.. So what's the breaking news Kabir ?
Kabir smiled and remarked - Finally The business head wants to know what the news is ...
Khalid rolled his eyes and thought to himself - How the hell did I end up in between these two Ex's?
Kabir continued - I am sure your aware of the hauntings at Javas College of Sciences ?
Khalid and Shreya nodded their head.
Kabir said - Well ... The HOD of Anatomy Department Dr.Rana Nalvadi was found murdered yesterday in the campus...
Khalid and Shreya eyes widened. Khalid asked - What ?
Kabir nodded his head and said with a smile - Yes... And I have solved the case...
Shreya immediately looked at Kabir and Khalid was shocked.
Kabir gave a smile and said - I know who the murderer is... And you...
" Kabir Sir"
All the three heads turned towards the cabin door. Roni was standing there panting.
Kabir gave a questioning look and asked - Roni? What happened?
Roni took in a deep breath and said - Sir.. I... Did...You..
Kabir asked again - Roni !! What happened?
Roni said taking a deep breath - Kabir Sir... Did you see the News ?
Khalid asked - What news ?
Roni went to the table and took the remote and switched on the Television in Khalid's cabin and changed the channels and said - NewsXS channel...
" NewsXS? "- Kabir thought. He asked out - Why what happened Roni?
But before Roni could explain, they could hear the news. A tall and slender girl was reporting from outside the police station - " So this is the mystery behind the hauntings in Javas college of sciences. It wasn't a ghost or a spirit.. Instead it was the work of a Professor who faked his death the whole while.Thanks to our sources and the help from Police, NewsXS channel was able to solve the crime."
Kabirs eyes widened.
Shreya and Khalid looked at Kabir.
The girl concluded - " With Camera Man Rakesh Grover , This is Junior Reporter Regina Marcus Reporting for NewsXS channel."
Shreya asked looking at Kabir - But... Kabir... You were ...
Kabir raised his hand and said slowly - Just... Be... Quite...
His heart was beating so fast. What just happened? How could this happen? No one knew about this!!! How...
""This is Junior Reporter Regina Marcus Reporting for NewsXS channel.""
"" Do you remember Regina? I think I had mentioned about her to you... The junior reporter in NewsXS? ""
"" The channel agreed to give her the money.. But in return they want a breaking news worth that amount... ""
""I am going to help her...It's just one news... What harm can it do ? ""
""he was quite aware of the security's smoking strolls and hence bringing the dead body wasn't a big problem...""

Khalid said slowly - Kabir... How did this happen? ... What are we going to do now ?
Kabirs eyes were red. He fisted his hands and tightened his jaws. He looked at Roni and asked slowly - Where... Is... Ananya...?
Shreya and Khalid were suprised . Roni looked at Kabir with confusion. Shreya asked - What happened Kabir ?
Kabir snapped out - I asked Where is Ananya??
Roni didn't know what was happening. Kabir was looking so Angry... Why was he asking for Ananya? He said slowly - Sir... But.. Why?
"RONI I ASKED WHERE THE HELL IS ANANYA???? " - Kabir shouted .
Everyone was shocked. There was pin drop silence. Khalid and Shreya were just looking at Kabir who was breathing so hard as if he had just run a marathon.
Roni replied slowly trying to calm his heart that was beating so fast - Sir... She...Ananya.. Is in her cubicle sir ...

" ANANYA COME TO MY CABIN NOW !!!"
Was all that he said when he came came down the stairs.
His eyes were red. He was breathing heavily. Ananya said looking around at all the employees who were staring at the duo- But... Kabir... I ...
"I SAID NOW" - And with that he marched into his cabin shutting the door with a loud bang.
Everyone was shocked. Ananya's heart was beating so fast. She wanted to make him understand. But how ?
Ananya looked up and she saw Khalid and Shreya looking down at her. They both had a worried expression on their face.
Richa held her hand tightly and asked - Ananya what happened?
Ananya saw Roni coming down the stairs with an even more worried face.
Ananya looked at Richa and said trying to control the tears that were brimming in her eyes- I.. I... I am scared yar...
Roni came towards her and asked - Ananya... What happened? ...
Ananya looked at Roni and then toward Kabir's cabin. She could see him walking up and down with his hands fisted.
Ananya took a deep breath and said - I..I.. better go...
Saying that she slowly walked towards his cabin. A tear left her eye. She took a deep breath and stood in front of the door. And then she slowly opened the door and stepped inside. Kabir stopped walking. He turned away from her. Ananya closed the cabin door and looked at his back and took a deep breath.
Ananya noticed that Kabir's hands were fisted so tightly . She wiped away another tear that left her eyes. She was so scared. She was so scared to face him.
She took a deep breath and said slowly - Kabir... I... Its...
" JUST SHUT YOUR MOUTH !!!!! JUST SHUT YOUR BLOODY MOUTH !!!"
-THE PRESENT-
She held his palm in her hands and said out in a cry - Am I dreaming or is it really happening? ...
She blinked her eyes and swiftly wiped off the tears that threatened to wet her cheeks. She tightened her hold and said out - I knew you won't give up... I knew you will never cease to breath... I knew you...
Her throat dried and she said out in a whisper - I knew you will wake up Kabir...
His eye lids opened slowly and he murmured - Ananya...
She let go of his hand and stared at him.
He murmured again - Ananya...
She creased his cheek and said - Kabir... Are you able to see me? ... Can you listen to my voice ??
She could see that his eyes were open half the way but his eye balls weren't clam.
He murmured again but more loudly - Ananya... I...
She stared at him and said - Kabir... Wake up... I know you can hear me... Look at me... Please Kabir... Just wake up... Don't die on me again...
Kabir was breathing heavily. He opened his eyes and the light that entered wasn't welcoming. He could see a lady looking down at him. " Ananya... My Ananya.." was all that was going on in his mind.
She smiled looking at his open eyes. She said - Oh God... Kabir ... Can you see me ??
Kabir's eyes adjusted to the light that entered him. He felt so weak. He could hear her faintly... And now he could see her.
He could see her.
His eyes widened and his throat tightened and he whispered out - Shreya?
Shreya smiled and said creasing his cheek- Yes Kabir... It's Shreya... Your Shreya... I am so glad you woke up...
Kabir's eyes widened. His body felt num as if he was asleep for so long. He couldn't get up. He said slowly - Shreya...you...
Shreya smiled and a tear left her eyes. She cupped his cheek and said - Yes Kabir... It's your Shreya... How are you feeling now... ?
And saying this she came closer to him. But Kabir's eyes widened, he held her shoulder with his hand and pushed her away. He said - What are you doing ? Where am I ??
Shreya was astonished . She stood up straight and said - Kabir... Just relax...
Kabir was feeling dizzy. He did not know what was happening. He looked around. He did not know where he was... He did not know this room. He asked again- Where am I?
Shreya wiped the tears away and said - Kabir... Why are you panicking... Don't worry...
Saying this she bent a bit to touch his cheeks. But Kabir moved his head away from her and said - Don't touch me... Shreya... Where am I ? Where is Ananya?
Shreya's eyes widened. She looked shocked by Kabir's question.
Kabir looked at her and asked Again - Where is Ananya?
Shreya asked slowly - Ananya?... You don't remember anything?
Kabir was feeling so angry... He wanted to get up but he felt as if he had no energy. He wanted to sit up but his body was against him.
Kabir asked - Shreya, where is Ananya?
Shreya turned away from him. And said - Kabir I think I better call the doctor..
Kabir was getting impatient . He asked - Shreya tell me...
Shreya fisted her hands and said slowly still turning away from him - Kabir please calm down...
Kabir tried to move but his body wasn't allowing him to. He felt like he would fall a sleep any moment. He Asked again - Where am I ? Where is Ananya?? Why am I like this ?
Shreya fisted her hands more tightly and said - Kabir...
Kabir asked again - Tell me Shreya !!
Shreya turned around and said out tears flowing down her eyes - Don't you remember anything at all?? Its 3 years since you were in coma... It all happened because of that accident ...
"3 years" - Kabir whispered out.
Shreya Nodded her head as she tried to wipe away the tears. But soon a new batch took it's place. She said - Yes... Three years Kabir... Three years you were in coma... They told you will never wake up... They told you will die...but see.. I knew they were wrong Kabir... I knew you will wake up... And look, your awake... My Kabir is awake...
Kabir asked slowly - Where is Ananya?
Shreya just stopped. He looked at Kabir and stared at him.
Kabir asked again - Where is Ananya?
Shreya took a deep breath and said - Kabir, I think you must take rest... Don't stress... I better call The doctor !!
And Shreya got up. But Kabir held her hand and asked - How did I go into coma ? Where is Ananya? Tell me Shreya!!
Shreya kept mum.
Kabir asked again - Tell me Shreya...
Shreya took a deep breath. She said- It's better you don't know Kabir...
Kabir tightened his hold and asked - Tell me Shreya...
Shreya turned her head away from him.
Kabir said again - Tell me... Just tell me Shreya !!! I said tell me !!
Shreya immediately looked at Kabir and asked - Tell what Kabir ?? Eh?? Tell you that you went into coma because your car crashed into a lorry... Tell you that you were rash driving because you wanted to run away...tell you that you were so angry on Ananya because she leaked a news that you slapped her...and... And...
Kabir eyes were widened he asked in a whisper - And?
Shreya completed - And she died because of it ...

Authors' Note - Well, I know you all will be fuming with anger . But I am telling you... the whole thing was planned from the start. So don't kill me for this twist.
