THE MEMORY - A FAN FICTION CHAPTER - 2 Hello guys !!
Believe me I am so glad you all liked the first part of "The Memory".. I was so happy with the response... So here comes the 2nd chapter.

-THE PAST-"I don't like excuses, did you get that? If I want it to be done .. I want it to be done !! That's final. So better polish your hard edges and finish it up."- She said controlling the impatience inside herself.
This had to happen.
She heard a knock on her cabin door.
"Shreya, Can I come in?"
Shreya turned her chair around and looked at Kalindh. She nodded her head, in a gesture asking him to come in.
She said to the caller in her phone - Yes .. Yes... I understand your problem... But I already told you... I hate excuses. Did you get that? So the next time you call me , the job must be done! Bye!
And she cut the call.
Kalindh had by then taken a seat. He looked at his nails and said - Hmm... Looks like our business head is not in a good mood!!
Shreya looked at Kalindh and replied - Such positions don't allow an individual to live peacefully Kalindh.. Who will understand it better than you?
Kalindh smirked and remarked - Yes.. Yes Shreya !! So why did you call me? Anything important?
Shreya kept her phone on the table and intertwined her fingers and said taking a deep breath- Kalindh, I know your aware of how things are in KKN... And I also know your turing a blind eye towards it... But I cant do the same!!
Khalind raised an eyebrow and said - I didn't get you Shreya...
Shreya placed her elbows on the table and said - What I am trying to say is, Its obvious to everyone that KKN is the Number 1 channel.. but at the same time, its not news that, In order for KKN to hold on to that trophy it requires more breaking news!! And... Well to be frank, I haven't seen anything after the dramatic human boom stunt!!
Kalindh looked at Shreya and said clearing his throat - Firstly Shreya, that was not a stunt...
Shreya snapped - Alright!! Whatever it was... Kalindh, I don't want to beat around the bush.. Lets get things straight... Is it just me? Or does anyone in this huge firm even care of a breaking news ?
Kalindh laughed sarcastically. He sat up straight and said - Let me enlighten you Shreya!! I can't blame you...obviously, The stress is getting to your senses!! Your the business head !! Not "The Editor in chief" ... Thats Kabir's forte and not yours !!!
Shreya stared at Kalindh. She said controlling the brimming anger inside her- I already Know that Kalindh.. And that's the reason why I am seated in this Cabin and not the one below!! And If I have to "Enlighten" you... Then I would like to inform you that I, Shreya Bagath is the one who deals with the rantings of the sponsors.. And its not rocket science that the more the breaking news.. The more the business!!! But No one gives a damn at KKN isn't it ??
Kalindh Asked - Now whats their problem... Our ratings haven't fallen have they?
Shreya took a deep breath and said - But nor has it increased!! Who likes to stand still in this fast pacing world Kalindh?? Well atleast I don't !! And its obvious that our sponsors hate it too... So kalindh my question is simple... Where are the breaking news ?
Kalindh replied looking at his watch - Well Shreya... When it comes to Kabir, breaking news is his second name !! And my instincts say that by today we are going to set a new standard in the field of journalism!!
Shreya widened her eyes with astonishment and said controlling her laughter - So now you started to believe in instincts too Kalindh?? Can I give you a piece of advise... Everything happens when you set out to do something.. And all that I see here is Romance and Romance .. Nothing else... If I wanted I could have told this to Kabir.. But I didn't .. because, I didn't want to start up another unwanted argument!!! And kalindh, I just want to say one thing, I am not the type to keep num and believe in instincts and stuffs... So better have a talk with your beloved Kabir and let me know if a breaking news is anywhere near KKNs future !!
Kalindh thought to himself - I just hate this lady!!! Well If I could deal with Manav and Malvika.. Shreya is nothing... But at the same time she is talking sense... Its been days and all that KKN is telecasting is the usuals .. The same which is telecasted in other channels!! I better have a talk with Kabir !!
Shreya kept looking at Kalindh. She said - Hello !! Are you even listening?
Kalindh smiled and said - I heard you loud and clear Shreya ... Let me see what can be done !!
Shreya nodded her head.
Kalindh got up from his chair and started to make his way out of the cabin. But he stopped in mid way , and turned around and asked - Ah.. Shreya.. If you don't mind can I ask you something?
Shreya replied - I do mind Kalindh!!
Kalindh laughed and said - That's wicked!!.. But really, to whom where you talking to when I came inside? You seemed pissed.
Shreya smiled and replied - I already told you Kalindh , I do mind it if you asked me something!! But for the sake of our so called friendship.. I will tell you!! The house I am currently living in.. It sucks like hell .. So, was talking to my dumb architect!!
Kalindh smiled and said - Okay ..
And he turned around and walked out of her cabin thinking to himself - Shreya .. Friendship and us ? Its never going to happen!!
~ ~ ~ Kabir asked Kurana as he was making his way up the stairs - So, Professor Subankhar's cabin is in the 3rd floor. And its the same floor where the supernatural events were reported weren't they Kurana?
Inspector Kurana replied - Yes Kabir that's right and thats the same place where Dr.Nalvadi was found murdered..
Kabir said - Hmm.. Has anyone been using Subankar's room lately ?
Kurana nodded his head in denial and said - No... Well immediately after his death , students found writtings on the notice board or to be precise 'warnings' stating that Subankhar was going to avenge his death...
Kabir said - Yes... That's under the lime light..
Kurana continued - We really thought that it was a prank played by some of the brats in the college.. But what was suprising ..
Kabir completed - was the fact that the warning letters were all in Subhankar's handwriting wasn't it ?
Kunrana said - Yes exactly.. ( he stopped and said ) here we are.. The alleged floor of Javas college of sciences that is haunted and the floor where the murder took place!!
Kabir took a deep breath. It wasn't nervousness but the thrill of having to deal with such an interesting case, that was making him breathless. He looked around. The whole floor was filled with cops and forensics department.
He followed Kurana. Who stopped and pointed at the floor - this is where one of the colleges maid found Dr.Rana dead. His throat was slit open... Reports suggest it was a sharp cut and not strangulation...
Kabir looked at the floor. There was a outline marking of the way in which Dr.Rana Nalvadis body was found. Blood stains were present in the regions near his neck and shoulders. Kabir fisted his hands and said - Hmm... So the murder took place yesterday?
Kurana replied slowly - Yes Kabir.. To be precise , at 8 pm... The same time when Professor Subhankar had commited suicide!!
~ ~ ~ "Did you get lucky tinu?" - Ananya asked to tinu who came into the tea shop after attending a call.
Tinu replied - Madam ji... That was my friend Mohit's , chacha ( Uncle ) on the phone. He is a peon at Javas college... According to him, Kabir sir is in the crime scene along with Inspector Kurana...
Ananya thought for sometime and said - Hmm... He told me he was going to the college... Anyways Tinu.. I don't want to know what Kabir is doing ... All I want is news regarding the case .. What happened over there precisely...
Tinu shuck his head and said - Ji.. Ji Madam Ji... But you know how things work don't you... The police is very strict around there... Only the officials are allowed into the crime scene...
Ananya was getting impatient. All she knew was that the person who had found the dead body was Nalani, a maid in the college. And the body was of Dr.Rana Nalvadi the HOD of Anatomy Department. His throat was slit open and his body was found in front of the cabin where Dr.Subankhar had committed suicide. And to add up to the mystery, the murder had taken place at about the same time when Shubankhar had set himself on fire. So what had really happened to Dr.Nalvadi ?
In order to know it Ananya had to look at the camera footage.. But that was next to impossible. She said - Yar Tinu...
Tinu replied quickly - Madam ji.. Just don't worry... We will find out something... I promise you...
Ananya said slowly - I really hope we do Tinu... I just don't have time... And I am sure Kabir will crack the case before I do!!
Tinu sat on the bench and asked looking at Ananya who was evidently worried - Madam ji... Can I ask something...?
Ananya nodded her head.
Tinu replied - Is everything alright between the two of you? I mean... Did you two start fighting again...
Ananya looked at Tinu in suprise - Whom are you talking about?
Tinu gave a sheepish smile and said - Kabir Sir and You Madamji...
Ananya laughed and she said - No!! Why should we fight?
Tinu scratched his head and asked - Then why are you not asking Kabir Sir's help? And why are you trying to solve the case before Kabir Sir Madamji?
It was as if Tinu had hit Ananya with a rock. She felt speechless. She thought to herself - Tinu is right... What are you doing Ananya? What are you doing ?
Just then Tinu's Mobile started to ring. Tinu looked at his mobile and stood up . He said- Madam Ji its the same chacha... I hope he got some news...
Saying this he walked out of the shop and attended the call.
~ ~ ~ Kabir asked as he put his hands into his pockets -How did Dr.Subankhar manage to commit suicide in the college? He was fired from his post wasn't he? Because he had stolen the college fund to carry out his PhD research...
Kurana leaned against the wall and said - Yes... He was accused of taking about 30 lakhs of the college fund.. But on the day when he got his bail , he came to the college stating that he wanted to take his belongings. The college authorities allowed him inside. But after an hour or so he was not to be found anywhere... They felt he had left... but then, at night the securities saw smoke leaving his window and before they could reach, he was burnt into ashes. So according to us , Shubankar did not leave the college at all...
Kabir said - And he set himself on fire ...
Kurana nodded his head. He said - If only they had known that The professor hadn't left the college.. All this wouldn't have happened...
Kabir said - Hmm... But then Kurana what was Dr.Rana doing in the college at such a late hour... According to my knowledge Professors don't have such a time schedule do they?
Inpector Kurana replied looking at Kabir - No Kabir they don't... Javas college is also an evening college... And it wraps up at about 6 pm... And usually Dr.Rana, like other professors had the habit of leaving at about 6 :15. And after that it's a routine for the security to have a check around the campus during which they lock up all the cabins...
Kabir looked at Kurana with suprise and asked- So how did Dr.Rana end up dead here ?
Inspector Kurana frowned and replied -That's the same thing that is confusing us...because Dr.Rana did the same yesterday... He had left at 6 10 sharp... His name was even logged in the exit register. And the security guard had seen him leaving too... So we are clueless about how Dr.Rana ended up in the campus at that hour... And the security is sure he did not see the HOD entering the campus at that time...
Kabir was shocked.
So What happened in real ? He was clueless because everything was leading to a dead end...
Just then Kabir's phone rang. Kabir took his phone from his pocket and looked at the caller ID.
Kabir said - Kurana.. I have to take this call...
Kurana nodded and said - Sure Kabir...by that time I will make arrangements for you to have a look at the footage..
And Inspector Kurana walked towards a group of individuals in Kakki who immediately saluted on seeing him.
Kabir attended the call and said - Yes Kalindh? What makes you to call me ? It's not that your missing me, are you?
Kalindh laughed and replied - Well I am used to it Kabir...
Kabir raised an eyebrow he asked - Used to what Kalindh? Missing me?
Kalindh laughed even further. He said - I am used to find your cabin empty whenever I come to meet you...
Kabir smiled. He said - Oh Kalindh... I was in a hurry.. And anyways it's not necessary that I have to inform you every time I go out...or... Should I ?
Kalindh said - Well until today you haven't.. And I know you will not in the future too... So I have no issues Kabir!!
Kabir walked towards the space that curved into a balcony - He asked - So why did you want to see me?
Kalindh paused for a second and said - Kabir... It's not that I don't trust you... I really do trust you...
Kabir said - Just come to the point Kalindh.. You know I don't have all day...
Kalindh said - Ya..ya.. I know... !! Its just that today Shreya called me to her cabin...
Immediately upon hearing her name Kabirs features tightened. He despised the woman. Just despised her. Kabir said - Hmm.. And what did she say?
Kalindh replied slowing - Well Kabir... To be frank KKN is completely in need of some breaking news... Not like the ones that's going on ... You see the sponsors have started to voice their dissatisfaction regarding the same ... And...
Kabir completed Kalindh - And Shreya is blaming me isn't she ?
Kalindh said quickly - No.. No Kabir...
Kabir said controlling his anger - Kalindh, there is absolutely no need for you to hide it... She was my ex wife, remember? I know her better than you... And possibly she would have blamed Romance in my life for this.. Isn't it Kalindh?
Kalindh kept quite. Well Kabir was right ... Kabir knew Shreya way better that him...
Kabir asked - Why aren't you denying it ?
Kalindh said - Kabir.. Its just...
Kabir snapped - See Kalindh I don't give a damn about what she thinks ... And I will tell you one thing... I am not fooling around... I don't care if you believe me or not... But In my today's bulletin, I am going to bring out a sensational case... At that time you will know who was wrong !!
And Kabir cut the call before Kalindh could respond.
Kabir took a deep breath and said trying to supress his anger - Shreya ... I will show you what a breaking news is today !!! Just wait and watch !!!
~ ~ ~Ananya said out - Okay so your trying to say that the security lied about Dr.Rana never returing after 6 PM?
Tinu nodded his head as he sipped in some hot tea. He gupled in the liquid and replied - Yes Madamji.. He had gone to have a smoke.. And according to the rule he shouldn't do it... And by the time he came back Dr.Rana had crossed the gate... The security tried to stop the Doctor. But according to him the HOD was very nervous and he threatened the security guard that if he tried to stop him then he would inform the higher officials about his "Smoking Strolls" !!
Ananya looked on. She asked - But the guard did not bother to go and look for Dr.Rana when it became late?
Tinu cupped his hands in the mutka to absorb the warmth of the tea. He said - That's where the problem lies... After 9 PM his shift was over.. So he ran off and did not mention about Dr.Rana's visit to the Other security...
Ananyas gaze fell outside.. The Sun was not to be seen. It seemed like it was going to rain. She said - That's why No one had a clue about Dr.Rana's entry into the campus at night and no one knew he was killed... Until Nalani came in today...
Tinu nodded his head.
Ananya asked - So what made the security open up?
Tinu raised his shoulders and said - Well I think he knew he would be caught one way or the other... Sometimes fear makes you to accept your sins madamji!!
Ananya smiled and said - That's true...
Tinu looked at Ananya and asked - Madamji are you sure you don't want tea?
Ananya nodded in affirmative And replied - No... I don't really need one Tinu... Thank you...
Tinu said - Okay Madamji...
Suddenly a thought crossed Ananya's mind. She asked out loud - But why Tinu?... Why should Professor Subankhar's spirit kill Dr.Rana? What did Dr.Rana do?
~ ~ ~ Kabir looked at the recorded footage for the 3rd time. He felt cold, not because of the spooky event he just witnessed on the screen but because the temperature of Delhi was dropping drastically. It seemed like it was going to rain heavily.
Kabir couldn't understand how could it happen. He again rewinded the footage and looked at it.. But each time it showed the same thing - all of a sudden Dr.Rana comes running out of his cabin at about 8 and as he passes Professor Subhankar's Cabin, his throat slits open as if an invisible force did it, and he falls down to his death.
How could that happen? How could that possibly happen?
Kabir sat back in the chair and took a deep breath. He asked - This just doesn't make sense Kurana... Why should Subankhar's Spirit possibly want to kill Dr.Rana?
Kurana said - Well... To avenge his death Kabir...
Kabirs eyes widened he asked - So your trying to say Subankhar's death wasn't a suicide? He was murdered?
Kurana said immediately - No.. No... He had committed Suicide, no one murdered him... But he hadn't commited embezzlement... He was innocent...
Kabir asked with astonishment - What?? And how did you know it ? Then Why was he accused for it?
Kurana replied - Kabir.. You would have noticed that immediately after Dr.Rana entered the campus, he went to his cabin... And he stayed there for about an hour or so...
Kabir asked as he rewinded the footage - So what did he do during that time?
Kurana replied as he ran his fingers through his hair - We wanted to know the same ... So when we checked his cabin we found that he was in his system and was about to delete all the evidence...
Kabirs eyes widened - What evidence?
Kurana said slowly - All the evidence that pointed out how The Principal Dr. Joshi Goenka and the HOD of Anatomy department Dr.Rana Nalvadi were supplying fake degree certificates to their students who didn't clear the exams in real...
Kabirs jaw tightened. He said - So When Professor Subhankar found it.. They blamed him for something he didn't do and fired him... Then, Put him behind bars and finally forced him into suicide?
Kurana nodded his head.
Just then Kurana's phone rang. He attended the call. Kurana said - Yes..Inspector Kurana speaking...
He replied- Ya tell me.. So what were the results?
Kuranas eyes widened and he said - What?? But how is that possible ? Are you sure ?
He paused for a moment, then said - Hmm.. Okay ... We will see what can be done... Thank you.
Kurana cut the call and kept staring at his mobile.
Kabir asked - Who was that Kurana? What happened?
Kurana looked at Kabir and then replied looking at the screen- Kabir... I just don't know what to make out of all this... I forgot to mention it to you... Just look at the footage ... After his death no one comes near Dr.Rana ... Nor does anyone touch him.. Until in the morning, the maid Nalani spots the body...
Kabir looked at the screen and fast forwarded it until the part Nalini screams looking at the dead doctor. He said - Yes Kurana.. Your right.. No one comes near the body... But why are you saying this ?
Kurana looks at Kabir and said -I am saying this to you Kabir, because.. The words- "One done ... Another to go" were cut on Dr.Ranas chest with a surgical Knife ...and you won't believe it, but just now... the Forensics called up to inform that, the cuttings were done only after the slit in his throat...
~ ~ ~ ~ Picture Abhi Baki Hei Meri dost ~Authors' Note - I know this update was more into the case.. And ya there weren't any Kaya moments too ... But don't worry.. Like I said -"Picture Abhi Baki Hei Meri dost" !! Have patience and read along...
