EPILOGUE Hi everyone !!!
Well, It's with a lump in my throat that I am updating the epilogue of THE MEMORY. IF this Fiction has reached it's epilogue then it is because of the constant support and love you all showered on me. Not to mention the encouraging and heart warming words of kindness.

-THE PRESENT-
Kabir slammed the breaks and jumped out of the car even before it came to a stand still. He opened the back door and carried Ananya out of the back seat. She was there against his hands like a lifeless body. Kabir looked down at her and said trying to reassure her but in the process was reassuring himself - " You're going to be absolutely alright Ananya!!!... You're going to be fine !!"
Chanting the same thing over and over again he carried her in his hands as he wobbled and hurried into the hospital. People were staring at Kabir who was carrying a motionless Ananya in his arms.
Kabir didn't give a damn about all the "Oh My God..."... "Look at them..." Comments that were being passed at him as he ran into the hospital. He didn't bother about how bad his body hurt. He didn't give a thought to the head crushing ache that was conquering his head. The only thing in his mind was to make sure Ananya stays alive... That his only reason to live wakes up to look at him again.
The journey from his car to the hospital reception felt like ages. His body felt like it was going through hell. But the sight of a lifeless Ananya made his heart feel even worse. He finally managed to enter the hospital. The moment he stepped into the reception area he shouted at the top of his voice - "I NEED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE NOW... PLEASE CALL THE DOCTOR !!"
Everyone's attention was immediately on Kabir and Ananya. But no one came towards them. They just kept looking at the duo as if they were enacting a portion of a Movie.
Kabir looked down at Ananya and said breathing heavily - " I promise.. Your going to be alright Ananya... I promise... Nothing's going to happen to you... I.."- His words of reassurance stopped the moment He looked up. Kabir noticed how no one had bothered to move a muscle. They were just rooted in the same spot.
Kabir's Jaw tightened and he shouted again - " HAVE YOU LOST YOUR FREAKING SENSES????... DIDN'T YOU HEAR ME??? I WANT A DOCTOR NOW !!! "
But it was the same response. People were just staring. Staring, like Kabir was presenting his bulletin for the evening. He held Ananya more tightly and took in a deep breath to calm the frustration that was almost killing him.
But before Kabir could make a move to murder the dumb personalities who were standing like statues, he heard a voice.
" Who is that ?... Who is shouting so loudly?..."- Kabir turned to the voice that came towards him. From the look of it, it was a Doctor who was coming down the stairs. The man looked about, trying to comprehend what was exactly going on. His eyes skimmed through the complete reception area.
And finally the Doctor looked at Kabir and Ananya. The moment he looked at Ananya who was unconscious in Kabir's Arms, his walking pace increased and by the time Kabir could answer the Doctor, he was checking Ananya's pulse.
The doctor exclaimed with a frown as he looked at the wound in her head more intently - " Her Pulse is so weak... What Happened to her?.. How did she acquire such a deep incision on her forehead? ..."
He looked at Kabir and then an expression of having Known Kabir for ages flashed through him. He nodded his head abruptly and continued before Kabir could explain what really happened- " We might loose her anytime... Attender!!... Bring in a stretcher... Quick ... We can't waste anymore time... ATTENDER !!"- Kabir just kept looking at the Doctor.
"We can't waste anymore time!!... Her pulse is too weak!!"- Kabir's mind was repeating the same words. " I can't lose Ananya.. I just Can't!!... If something happens to her then..." - But his thoughts were cut short as he saw the Attender come towards them and heard him say in a low voice hesitantly - " Doctor... It's best if we don't admit them... From the looks of it.. I think it's a police case... It's better if we call the police before we treat them.."
Kabir's eyes widened as each word left the Attender's mouth. He could feel all this muscles tighten. He could literally feel the anger inside him. The doctor looked at The attender and then at Ananya and Kabir. But before he could reply to the Attender, Kabir spat out as he gave an ugly scowl - "Is this a Joke??... IS THIS A BLOODY JOKE ???? Can't you see She is fighting for her life??? You think this is a police case ??.. Well YES this is a BLOODY POLICE CASE !!! And If you don't Admit her then this is going to become a case of Man slaughter!! And YOU will be the first victim!!! ..."
Now it was time for the Attender's eyes to widen. Kabir took another step towards him and said gritting his teeth- " Do you have the slightest idea of Who your dealing with???? I am Kabir Sharma.. The Editor in chief of KKN... It will only take me one bulletin to close down this hospital of Yours!!! Do you want to see it ??... Better SHUT YOUR BLOODY MOUTH and Provide medical assistance to her !! If ANYTHING AT ALL HAPPENS TO ANANYA THEN YOUR DEAD !!!"
The attender took a step back from Kabir. He immediately turned around and called out someone and within a few seconds a stretcher was brought and Kabir laid Ananya on it.
The Doctor kept looking at Kabir the whole while. A small smile crept on his face as he saw Kabir's gestures and anger. Well he was a vivid fan of the Man. An outstanding Reporter. But now he understood that he was one hot tempered guy!! And the Girl in his arms meant a lot to him.
But then the smile in the Doctors face was no where to be seen once Ananya was put on the stretcher. He immediately ordered - "Tell the nurse to prepare for an operation... Take her to the ICU.. Quick!!.."
And in seconds things were a complete hustle.
The attender along with Kabir, the Doctor and a nurse wheeled the stretcher that Had Ananya towards the Emergency ICU in the very floor. The doctor was shouting Orders after orders... Kabir couldn't make a thing out of it, but he knew Ananya wasn't doing well.. And the very thought was creating havoc in his mind. He kept looking at her and she seemed to have lost her colour.. Her face and skin looked so pale. He touched her hand and he couldn't feel the warmth which it always had. "What if I lose her ?" He asked himself.
Kabir Nodded his head in denial as he whispered out - " No!!! Ananya had promised that she would hold on to my hand forever... You promised Ananya... I know you won't leave me... I-I..."
And then the Attender blocked Kabir from entering the Operation theatre. And Kabir let go of Ananya's hand and she was wheeled into the OT. "Ananya..."- Kabir whispered out.
And the door to the ICU closed and Kabir looked down at the Attender who was blocking him. The Man was staring at Kabir nervously. He said slowly - " Sir please take a seat... The operation will take a while.."
Kabir narrowed his eyes and said with a scowl - " If something at all happens to HER... What I said will become the reality..."
The attender almost jumped and he was no where to be seen in a blink of the eye. Kabir closed his eyes and touched his throbbing head. " Why did this have to happen?... Why?... I thought that things would be alright... I thought that I would make things alright... The moment Roni had said Ananya was alive... The pain in my heart had been replaced by happiness... But now... Now everything is breaking down... And I can't do Anything about it... Ananya never deserved this.. She never deserved this... She..."
"Mr.Kabir... Mr.Kabir..."
"Mr.Kabir..."
Kabir snapped out of his thoughts as he heard the faint voice calling out his name. He looked at the source. It was a nurse. He immediately looked for Ananya but she wasn't there. Nor could he find the doctor or that stupid Attender. He asked in shock- " Where is Ananya???"
The Nurse looked at him with sympathy. The Man was definitely losing his senses. He didn't even realize that the girl was now being operated. He was just in his own world murmuring something to himself. She said slowly - " Mr.Kabir.. She is currently being operated... Please have a seat... You need to fill this form..."
The nurse waited for Kabir to take a seat. But Kabir didn't budge from his place. He just stood there and kept looking at her completely lost. She cleared her throat and asked slowly trying to get her words into his head -"Sir... Can I know how are you related to the patient ?... And what's the patient's name?"
Kabir glanced at the nurse and in impulse he touched his ring with his other hand. A small smile crept on his face as he thought to himself - " How is she related to me?... How is my stupid Reporter, related to me??..."
Kabir took in a deep breath and said out as he felt his heartbeats raise -" Ananya... Her name is Ananya... She... She is my wife !!! ..."
The nurse looked up at him and then wrote the name and asked him some more details. Kabir cooperated and gave all the details. But his mind was questioning him at each passing second... "What if she doesn't survive... What is she never becomes your wife..." And with each passing second Kabir's posture was stooping low.
Once every detail was filled in, the nurse requested Kabir to sign the form. He signed in it without any emotion. By now Kabir felt empty.. He felt as if his mind and soul was there inside the operation theatre with Ananya.
The nurse was gone in no time. And Kabir was Standing there looking at the operation theatre the whole while. He didn't know how many hours passed by... He was just looking at the operation theatre like a statue.
"she isn't to be blamed... It's all your fault !!!"
Kabir clutched his hands. " Nothing can Happen to Ananya !... Nothing !!!... I know she will be alright !!... You had promised me Ananya... Nothing can happen to you!!... "
Kabir could feel his body was giving up. His complete body was shaking by now.. And his vision was blurring to the worst. He leaned his body against the wall and whispered out - " I... I love you Ananya... Please... Please don't leave me... I can't handle it... I just can't... Please don't leave me!!,..."
He closed his eyes shut and the only thing that he could see in his mind was Ananya's smiling face... The sight made him weak even more .
"Mr.Kabir Sharma... "- He heard a hoarse voice call out.
Kabir opened his eyes the moment he recognized it.It was the Doctor. Kabir felt his heart lose its beat. He couldn't bare a bad news.. He just couldn't bare it. He stammered because his throat had lost all it's moisture - "D-Doctor... H-How is Ananya...?? Please doctor.. I can't lose her !!..."
The doctor a tall man with an air of Authority and dignity looked down at Kabir who seemed so weak and pale himself. Kabir looked like he was a living dead body. The doctor said out slowly with a small smile - " Don't worry Mr.Sharma... If you put yourself into so much stress then it's not good for your body.. She is absolutely fine... In a day or two she will regain her consciousness... She is a fighter .. And more than that .. You were on time... Even a few minutes of delay would have costed us her life... "
"She is fine..."- the moment that sentence left the doctor's mouth Kabir felt his heart beat.. He felt a huge amount of weight leave his body. He could feel a rush of blood flow through every part of this body and his eyes widened. He whispered out - "Ananya... Ananya.. Is alright?"
The doctor smiled and said nodding his head - " Yes Mr.Sharma... She is fine!!.. I don't have the habit of bluffing... She has survived the unfortunate accident... The head injury is operated...the operation was a success and fortunately we had enough blood to replace the amount she had lost... So don't worr..."
But before the doctor could complete. He saw Kabir Whisper again as he rested his head on the wall - "Your... Alright Ananya..." And with that his eyes closed involuntary and Kabir's legs gave in and he was in the mercy of gravity. The doctor yelled the moment he saw Kabir forwarding towards the ground - "Mr.Kabir .."- and he tried to hold on to Kabir who was completely unconscious by now. Kabir's entire weight was on the doctor and he called out to Kabir and tried to shake him back to consciousness. But Kabir wasn't Responding.
The Doctor immediately held on to Kabir and shouted - " Nurse... Attenders !!... Come quickly..."
He tightened his grip on Kabir .. The man wasn't responding at all. And The doctor knew that he did a big mistake by not spotting the weakness and paleness in Kabir the very first time. He mistook it to be stress. And now he knew that he was hell wrong.
The doctor ordered as he saw the staff running towards him and the unconscious Kabir in his grip- "Come quickly... And call KKN news channel at once !!!"

"DON'T!! Just don't utter my name from your mouth!! "
" Today you proved the world that Kabir Sharma was a loser and is a loser!! I have lost ... Both professionally and personally!! "
" Just stay away from me Ananya!!..."
"You proved today that you can't be trusted... I believed in you Ananya... And what did you do?? Eh??... You betrayed me..."
" I thought you were different Ananya... I thought you were not like her..."
"You showed me today that your no different from Shreya !! "
"Ma'am... Ma'am.. Please calm down... Please try to calm down... "
"Well.. Well look who has managed to find her way to her fiancee "
" Oh God ... it's paining isn't it ?... I am so sorry Ananya... I never wanted to do this to you..."
" This was the same way I felt ... do you have the slightest idea of how it pained when I had to look at the both of you happy??? EH??? It pained !!! IT PAINED !!..."
"Now it's your time to suffer Ananya !! YOU WILL SUFFER !!!"
" Ahhh!!!!! " - Ananya screamed as she suddenly saw Shreya Standing in front of her with a cooper vase. She couldn't take another blow.. She just couldn't. Her head was aching so badly. Her body was completely exhausted. She felt like she will die and another blow from that vase would help in achieving just that. No .. She couldn't withstand another blow from that vase.
But suddenly the moment Ananya Screamed, Her eyes shot open and a torrent of light entered her eyes like a tsunami. She couldn't comprehend what was happening. Shreya was no where to be seen. Everything was like a flash of white light. And the light that entered her eyes made her head ache. She felt like she would throw up. Ananya felt like it was all going to end.
But then Ananya could hear a voice. A very faint voice. Amongst the drumming and throbbing of her heart she could hear a voice.
"Is it Shreya??" - Her mind asked with dread. Ananya couldn't take it Anymore.. Her body couldn't withstand more pain.
She had to stay away from Shreya... She had to stay away from Shreya...
Ananya at once closed her eyes shut. She started to breath heavily. Her heart was beating so fast and the nausea sensation was still prevalent. She could hear the Same voice again. Ananya closed her eyes more tightly if that was even possible.
She kept shaking her head In a No and was trying to shut away the voice. But in the process her heart beats were slowing down and the nausea sensation was reducing. And the voice was getting clear and clear.
"Ma'am..."
"Ma'am... Ma'am..."
"Ma'am... Nothing is going to happen ...your safe..."- the voice said.
Ananya relaxed her tightly closed eyelids. "That's not Shreya... "- she thought to herself.
" Ma'am.. Everything is going to be fine... Please try to calm down... The doctor will come in a few minutes... Please try to be calm... No one is going to hurt you..." - The voice said reassuringly.
"It's not Shreya..."- Ananya thought as she took in a deep breath. She felt a lot better now. Nothing bad is going to happen.. She was safe... There was no need to worry. She was safe.
"Ananya... Kabir goes missing for 3 days...The blood samples we recovered proves that he was abducted that very night ... And until now we don't have a clue of where he is... I wish I was wrong... But it all points to one thing... "
"The motive ... It might be Kabir's death... "
"do you have the slightest idea of how it pained when I had to look at the both of you happy??? "
At once Ananya's eyes opened.She did not bother about how her eyes pained when the light rushed into them for the second time. She just sat up with a start and she shouted - " KABIR !!!!! W-Where Is Kabir ??"
The moment Ananya sat up she felt her forearm and wrist pain. It was as if she was tugging at her forearms and wrist. And then suddenly she felt her head ache. And the ache made her scream. It was too painful and at once Ananya dropped back down again.
She couldn't fathom what was going on. She just felt pain. But she didn't bother about that. Ananya wanted to know where Kabir was... She knew she couldn't live without him.. And she also knew that Shreya could go to any extreme to harm Kabir.
By now Ananya's eyes were getting adjusted to the light. She could see a shadow look down upon her. And the shadow was telling her to keep calm. Ananya knew at once that it was the same person who was reassuring her a few moments back.
"W-where a-am I" - Ananya whispered slowly. Her mouth felt so dry and her throat ached.
" Ma'am... Your going to be fine..."- the voice said. And by now Ananya could see the person. It was a lady. A lady in a white dress. A white cap...
"Am I in heaven ?" - her mind asked herself.
"The doctor will come in some time... Please try to be calm Ma'am..." - The lady said, worry evident in her eyes.
"D-Doctor ?... D-doctor in heaven?..."- Ananya whispered out. Blinking her eyes and trying to look at the lady more clearly.
She saw that the moment Ananya whispered out. The ladies eyes grew big and she said - " No Ma'am.. Your alright... Your in the hospital..."
"H-Hospital...?"- Ananya asked out slowly. But why was she in the hospital. What had happened to her ?
""Now it's your time to suffer Ananya !! YOU WILL SUFFER !!!"
"S-Shreya.."- Ananya's eyes grew wide as she remembered. Shreya had tried to kill her. Shreya was behind everything ... Shreya was the one who abducted Kabir...Shreya was the one who abducted her Kabir...
"K-Kabir... H-He is in d-danger... K-Kabir is in danger... P-Please... S-Shreya ... is the o-one behind all t-this..." - Ananya said trying to get up again. But she just couldn't get herself up. Ananya was feeling a lot better now . But she just couldn't get up. Her back and head ached so badly.
The nurse looked at Ananya as if she was talking in french. The lady said quickly -" Ma'am.. Please don't try to get up... You must rest.. Please..."
Ananya nodded her head in denial and said again- "No... I am fine..W-Where is Kabir?.. Who brought me here ?... P-please.. K-Kabir is in danger... Shreya is the one behind all this... "
The nurse said touching Ananya's shoulder- " Ma'am... I am so sorry.. I don't know who admitted you here... I was on leave for 2 days and this is my new shift... So I really don't know... But please Ma'am.. Try to calm down... You should try to relax.. Nothing will happen!!..."
Ananya stared at the lady. Did the lady lose her mind?.. How could she relax. How could Ananya relax when she knew what Shreya was capable of.
Ananya shuck her head and tried to get up again. She said in a more stable voice- " Please... I need to go.. He is in danger... Please call the police... "
The nurse started to panic. She did not expect her day to start with such a hustle. She expected morning shifts to be more calmer and now she was stuck up with a stubborn girl who was determined to push her body to the edge of its capacity. The nurse said - " Ma'am.. Please... There is no need to worry.. The doctor will be here in a few minutes..."
By now Ananya was feeling a lot better. But her mind and heart was feeling the opposite. She knew that each minute was important. She knew that Kabir was in danger and she couldn't keep still. Ananya tried to sit up again with more power as she Snapped - " See... I can't relax !!! Kabir is in danger!! Each and every moment is important !! Please call the police at once... Shreya is the culprit... !!!... PLEASE!!"
The nurse panicked even more. She said again In Her shrilling voice -" Please Ma'am.. Try to understand... You shouldn't strain yourself !! "
Ananya stared at the nurse. Was she acting like she was stupid or was she a Real stupid? Why couldn't the lady understand what Ananya was trying to say?
The frustration was getting to Ananya. She clutched her hands not going a damn about how baldy it pained and almost shouted - "What do you mean by "I shouldn't strain myself ??..." Can't you understand what I am saying??... Kabir is in danger and I have to go and save him !! My fiance is in danger!!!! So for GODS SAKE CALL THE POLICE!!!"
" Is Making a fuss.. a prominent trait of yours, Miss.Kashyap?"
At once Ananya's heart just stopped. She felt a shiver pass through her spine and a feathery rush of Adrenaline in her body. Everything just went blank for her. And Ananya's eyes widened. She slowly turned towards the side from where the voice came from. And as she turned she kept praying that she should be right. She knew she couldn't be wrong. Ananya knew His voice so well.
And she was right.
There HE was, leaning on the door frame with a smirk on his face.
Ananya could feel her heart beat raise. She could feel her chest heaving up and down. Her eyes were wide open and her throat went dry. Completely dry.
She could see him clearly. She could see him so clearly. She knew it wasn't a dream. And then she saw how his smile widened even more. And the moment his smile widened. Ananya could feel her eye fill with tears and she could only whisper out - "K... K-Kabir..."
The second HIS name felt her mouth.. Tears flowed from her eyes. And Ananya started to shake. And at once Kabir's smile faded away and in a fraction of a second he was right beside her and she was being hugged by him like there was no tomorrow.
Ananya was shaking and she was breathing heavily as she cried and cried... Ananya could feel Kabir against her. He was creasing her hair. She was completely shaking and sobbing. " Shh..."- Kabir said as he felt hardness settle in his throat. His eyes became red and he was so overwhelmed. Kabir was waiting for this moment for the past so many days... And now when she finally woke up... He felt like the tears that she was pouring out could kill him. His heart felt so heaving looking at her pain.
"K...K...K-Kabir" - Ananya sobbed as she held him more tightly.
Words couldn't leave Kabir's mouth. It felt as if it were stuck In his throat. Kabir hugged her more tightly if that was even possible. He burrowed his Face in her shoulder and he felt a tear leave his eyes. Inspite of the breath taking hug, Ananya was shivering and shaking. She was crying so loudly by now. And in between her sobs she was saying out his name like she was trying to reassure herself that it was really Kabir who was there hugging her.
And finally when words managed to leave his mouth Kabir said slowly into her ears - "Ananya...please don't cry...p-please... You know I don't like it if you cry..."
Another sob left her mouth she hugged him more tightly and whispered clutching on to his shoulders - "... I... I... Will...stop... Only...only if you Promise ... That... You will... Not leave me.. And go... " And another sob left her mouth.
Kabir felt his heart beats stop. He creased her head. And then breaking the hug he said looking into her eyes which were red and filled with tears - "And Why would I want to leave you??... You are the best ... Best... Best gift God has given me... And I am in no mood to decline such a beautiful gift Miss.Kashyap..."
More tears left Ananya's eyes. She said breathing heavily in-between her sobs- "I w-was sooo s-scared Kabir... I was so scared... I thought I will never be able to see you... I thought..." - And she again broke down in tears.
Kabir felt his heart clutch. He looked at her... He kept looking at her.. Trying to find the answers to the questions in his head.
How could someone love him so much? What did he do, to deserve such a person in his life? Did he really deserve so much love?
Kabir placed his finger on her lips and said - " Shh... I am here ... Aren't I ?... Now please stop crying Ananya... I don't like it when I see tears in your eyes..."
Saying this he wiped away her tears with his thumbs and cupped her cheeks. He said slowly - " I only like it when you smile Ananya... So please... Please don't cry..."
Ananya kept looking at him. She tilted her head to the right and asked slowly looking into his eyes- " Is it okay if you cry Kabir ?"
Kabir looked at her questioningly. He asked -" What??.."
Ananya gave a small smile and slowly placed her hand on his cheek.
" Ananya... What are you doing ?... The drip syringe will hurt your hand... "- Kabir said immediately.. Looking at her with concern.
" No.. No it doesn't hurt as much as It hurts when I see tears in your eyes Kabir.."- Ananya said as she wiped a small tear that had left Kabir's eyes.
Kabir's eyes widened.
A small smile was seen on Ananya's face. She said - " I never knew the Editor of KKN cries... "
Kabir raised his eyebrows and said with a hint of naughtiness in his eyes - " Well.. He DOESN'T cry Miss.Kashyap... Its only that you hugged me sooo tightly that you squeezed the tears out of me !!!"
"Oh... Is it Mr.Sharma?" - Ananya asked with a pout.
Kabir replied with a smirk on his face - " Well... Yes Miss.Kashyap !!"
A giggle left Ananya's mouth as she hugged him again.
A smile escaped Kabir's lips as he held her more tightly and he said closing his eyes - "I love you Ananya ... I love you so much..."

She was just holding on to him like he might run off anytime. Ananya remained in Kabir's embrace and they kept mum. Words weren't exchanged but their heartbeats and tight hugs were more satisfying than words. Her head was on his chest as he kept creasing her hair slowly. Amongst the silent cuddling suddenly tears were seen flowing from her eyes as she sobbed thinking about how things were a few days back. But Kabir consoled her in the blink of an eye, transforming her tears into giggles and laughter... And then the silent cuddling continued.
The nurse was just looking at the duo the whole while. Half an Hour had passed by and she was still dumbstruck by the two love birds. First the crazy girl who was crying and screaming in her unconsciousness and then when she woke up the patient turned out to be one stubborn young lady who wanted to go save "Kabir" when she herself couldn't get up from the sick bed... And then came "Kabir" who cared and loved the girl like there was no tomorrow. The way he made her feel safe with his reassuring words and hugs left the nurse speechless. Her heart felt so warm looking at the couple. They seemed like they had conquered the whole world. It felt like they needed nothing else. It felt like they completed each other. And this warmth and love and care she witnessed in front of her made her believe that love was one strong emotion.
The nurse sat in her seat and kept quite and allowed the two love birds to have their reunion. And from the looks of it, she knew they deserved this reunion.
That's when she heard "Kabir" say - " Ananya... You should lie down... Your body requires rest ... "
Ananya nodded her head in a No and hugged Kabir more tightly. She said burrowing her face into his neck - "No Kabir... I just want to hold you tightly... I am alright... I don't want to let go of you..."
Kabir closed his eyes and hugged her tightly. What had he done to deserve her? How could someone love him so much? Was this really happening to him?
"I love you..."- He heard her say.
Kabir smiled and said breaking the hug- "I love you too Ananya.. But I want you to recover quickly... So, be a good girl and listen to what I say.. Lie down.. Your body needs rest.."
Ananya looked into his eyes and pouted. She nodded her head in denial and blinked her eyes innocently.
It took a lot of will power for Kabir to stop himself from pulling her cheeks. How could she be so Adorable? But, Now He had to get a hold of himself and force her to take rest. He didn't want anything at all to happen to his only Reason to live.
He gave a straight face and said staring at her - "Ananya... I wont take a No for an answer.. And you know that quite well.. So better listen and take rest... Or you will face the Wrath of your Editor in chief!!"
"And Believe me Miss.Ananya... You wont like that !!"
At once Kabir turned around. Ananya looked at the tall man standing there at the entrance of the door with a smile on his face, and immediately she could make out that He was the Doctor who the nurse was talking about.
Kabir stood up and gave a smile to the doctor. He greeted him with a - " Good Morning Doctor..."
The Doctor smiled and said - " Good morning Mr.Kabir.. Looks like now we can see you smile more often... I had told you, she is a fighter !!,... So there is no need to worry.."
Kabir looked down at Ananya who had a weak smile on her face. He could sense that now exhaustion was setting in her. He quickly helped her lie down on her back and said- " Yes doctor.. She is one Fighter... But a very Stubborn young lady as well!!"
The doctor came towards Ananya and checked the monitor and said as he made note of the readings - " Hmm.. Well Stubbornness and Anger is one great pair... And you two are one big example of that !!"
Kabir gave a nervous smile. Ananya looked at Kabir and the doctor questioningly. The doctor smiled and said as he inspected Ananya's wound on her forehead -" Our Hospital would have turned into a slaughter house if we had refused to Admit you Miss... But now it really amuses me when I see that he can smile too !!..."
Ananya giggled. Oh, how much did he loves her!! She looked at him lovingly as he scratched his temple with a grin. The doctor Raised an eyebrow and said - " Well... Love is one medicine that can cure almost anything... Looks like your recovering quickly!!. Good !!.. I think in a day or two you will be healthy enough to return to your routine life.."
Ananya smiled at the doctor who reciprocated the same and turned and looked at Kabir. He placed his hand on Kabir's shoulder and said with a tilted smile - " But that doesn't mean you can go about hugging her... She isn't strong enough to withstand bone crushing hugs !! I hope you understand Mr.Kabir !!"
Kabir's eyes widened he looked at Ananya with concern evident in his eyes. The doctor smiled even further. He added- " And the nurses of our hospital aren't trained to witness such intimate encounters !!"
Kabir looked at the doctor again. And that's when he knew that the Man was pulling his leg. Kabir smiled and said - " Don't worry doctor... I won't!!"
Ananya smiled glancing up at Kabir. And each and every time she looked at him she knew that She missed him so much. She missed his smile so much... She just couldn't afford to lose him again...
The Doctor smiled and patted Kabir's shoulder and then turned towards the nurse and gave her some instructions. The nurse listened carefully. Kabir was informed that he had to buy some medications for Ananya.
After 5 mins the doctor was gone. And the nurse was busy filling some form.
Ananya was looking at Kabir who was sitting there beside her. "He has lost weight.."- She thought looking at him. She noticed how his eyes had dark circles now and his right hand had band aids. "If only we hadn't fought that night.."- She thought. " If only he had listened to me once..."
Suddenly she felt him touch her cheeks as he looked at her with an expression which had sadness, guilt and anger. She heard him say slowly- " Did I... Did I slap you Ananya?..."
Ananya's eyes widened at once. She could see so much pain in his eyes. She felt Goosebumps raise in her skin. Ananya asked in a whisper - " What?..."
Kabir just kept looking at her with that same heart wrenching expression on his face. Ananya asked slowly - " W-Why do you think you slapped me Kabir?..."
Kabir didn't answer her. Ananya could only feel his hand creasing her cheek. She slowly touched his hand and asked as she felt her throat go dry- " So that was what she said to you isn't it ?... That's how Shreya made you believe that you killed me isn't it Kabir ?"
Kabir looked at her with astonishment. " How did she know?.." - he thought. But before he could ask her. She said softly - " I had managed to come to the room where she had kept you captive Kabir... I found the newspaper article she had used to trick you...But I didn't find you there... I only managed to find Shreya who awarded me with this wound on my head..."
Before Kabir could question her, she asked him- "What do you think Kabir ?... Did you slap me ?"
Kabir just looked at Ananya. She couldn't make out what was he thinking. He had a mixture of emotions on his face but the most predominant one was guilt and sadness. She gave a small smile and said - " You might doubt yourself Kabir... But I know My Kabir very well...I will never doubt him.. And I know that he will never raise his hand against me... If there is anyone in this world who loves me more than he loves himself then its you Kabir and You will never do such a thing !!!.. So stop giving me such a Sad expression and give your Miss.Kashyap a dashing smile !!"
Kabir was left speechless. He didn't utter a word. He kept looking at her as if he couldn't get enough of her. Ananya stared at him and said with wide eyes - " Oh My... I think my Editor is officially missing !! Now what will I do ?? What will Miss.Kashyap do without her Editor in chief?"
A smile was seen on Kabir's face as he nodded his head at her attics. "How could she always manage to make me smile?"- he thought as he took her hand in his hands slowly seeing to that the IV wasn't disturbed. He said - "I am here Miss.Kashyap... there is no need to freak out !!...And, anyways there is a lot of bashing that's pending on your name!!"
Ananya looked at him with widened eyes. She asked - " Bashing ??... What bashing?"
Kabir raised his eyebrows and said - "You really don't have a clue do you Miss.Kashyap !!.. If you weren't injured ..then you surely would have got the bashing a lot earlier and a termination letter would have reached your desk ..."
Ananya's eyes widened even more. She asked - " What ??.. But why Kabir ?... What did I do?"
Kabir stared at her and said bowering his eyes into hers - " What didn't you do Miss.Kashyap?... I really didn't expect this from you... and owing to the fact that you know me so well, why did you have to lie to me Ananya?..."
"Lie to you?... What are you saying Kabir?"- Ananya asked completely clueless.
Kabir pressed his lips and looked at her. He said slowly - "All this wouldn't have happened.. IF you hadn't leaked the news to your dear friend in need Ananya and hide it from me !!... What did you think?... I would never find out ?.. What were you thinking while taking such a stupid step?"
Ananya could feel the warmth in her exit slowly. " Does HE really think I would do such a thing ?..."- Her heart asked herself as she looked at him with tears in her eyes.
Kabir quickly nodded his head and said - "Okay!!.. Now don't start crying !!.. But seriously Ananya.. How could you be so naive?"
"But Kabir..."- Ananya chocked as tears left her eyes.
Kabir interrupted her and said - "No Ananya... I want to drop this topic !!.. And don't cry.. It was a mistake.. A big blunder.. But it is in the past.. So let's leave it there!!.. I just don't won't this to occur Again... Okay?"
Ananya tried to say something but Kabir stopped her and added- "But... I never expected such a thing from you Ananya..."
"B-But.. Like you said... I am no different from Shreya isn't it Kabir ?"- She said in a low voice. And another tear left her eye.
Kabir just froze. He looked up at her and just kept looking. " I never meant that Ananya..."- He whispered out.
Ananya gave a weak smile and was about to say something when Kabir placed his finger on her lips and said - "Now let's drop this conversation, And forget everything.. It was a very bad phase of our life Ananya...and it's meant to be forgotten "
He again interrupted her and said - " Shh... now stop crying and cheer up !!... And don't worry I won't terminate my Stupid Reporter!!!"
Ananya looked at him and kept quite. He got up and wiped away her tears and said- "I will go and get the medications the doctor asked for... and when I am gone Don't do anything stupid ...Okay?..,Just try to Take rest and energise yourself, because Roni had called up saying that he was going to come by... And I know you Very well... So its better if you try to rest and get healthy before you drain yourself by chit chats !!"
Kabir waited for Ananya to reply. She just nodded and gave a weak smile. Kabir touched her cheeks and then he turned around and took the prescription the doctor had given him and went outside after informing the nurse to take atmost care of Ananya.
The moment Kabir left the room. Ananya let out a sob. The nurse immediately looked at her. Ananya nodded her head gesturing that she was fine. And then she closed her eyes shut. Tears seemed to leave her eyes even after she closed them shut. Ananya bit her lips as another sob left her mouth.
"Y-You really think I would do such a thing?"- She thought as she felt her heart clutch from sadness and pain.

" Thankyou "- Kabir said as he brought the medicines from the pharmacy.
He checked if he had bought all the medications the doctor had asked for and then he gave way for the next customer.
As Kabir made his way to the lift he felt someone call this name and at once he turned around. It was Roni.
" Hello Roni...Tees' and jeans? Looking cool !!" - Kabir said as he saw the young man coming towards him in a completely different attire.
Roni smiled and said - " Hello Kabir Sir... Well.. Thought to give my formal's a break... Anyway, How are you ? Is your detoxification session over ?"
Kabir nodded his head and said - " Yes.. I had it 2 hours ago... The doctor has said that with another one, the drugs will be detoxified completely..."
Roni replied with a big smile - " That's great sir !! And what about Ananya? Did she wake up or is she still unconscious?"
Kabir gave a smirk as he said - "Well Our lioness is wide awake!! According to the doctor she will be healthy and running by a day or two!!"
"Thank God!!"- Roni exclaimed. He took in a deep breath to calm down his overwhelmed heart. Now he could finally calm his stressed heart. He was really worried about Ananya.
Kabir smiled warmly looking at Roni's happiness upon hearing Ananya's well-being. A friend like him is a treasure, God gifted to Ananya.
Kabir patted his shoulder and asked - " So tell me... How is everything at KKN? Khalid had come to visit us yesterday... "
Roni nodded his head and said - " Hmm yes Sir... Khalid sir had informed us... Things are going fine sir.. But owing to the absence of its Editor and star Reporters things aren't Great!!"
Kabir chuckled. Roni smiled and said- " Sir I have some information... In fact A very good one ... Shreya has finally given in..."
"What??"- Kabir asked in shock. Shreya gave in? That was next to impossible.
Roni gave a weak smile and said - " Yes Sir... She has given and she told the complete plan and the way she executed it !!... "
Kabir furrowed his eyebrows and asked with astonishment - " Really?.."
"Yes Sir"- Roni replied nodding his head. He continued - " And now Inspector Kurana is on his way to arrest Regina..."
"Regina?"- Kabir asked. What was the young lad blabbering? Why should Kurana arrest Regina?... It didn't make any sense.
Roni looked at Kabir's confused expression and said - " Yes sir.. Regina... Regina Marcus.. Ananya's friend... Do you remember? The same one for whom you thought Ananya leaked that Java's murder case lead...?"
Kabir just looked at Roni blankly. He could feel his heartbeat pounding faster and faster. Roni continued - "It was all a part of Shreya's plan... She had payed Regina to approach Ananya saying that her mother was sick and she wanted money... And using that as an excuse she asked Ananya to help her find a lead... And like always Ananya too agreed... But you know what sir? Shreya had planted a mic under your desk so that she could hear in to all your conversations .. And that's how she came to know about the Java's murder lead that you were following ... And then she leaked the news to Regina and she waited for you to find it out.. And like she had expected you doubted Ananya of having leaked the case..."
Kabir's heart was drumming so loudly by now. His eyes were wide open and his throat was dry. Completely dry.
Roni continued - " And then you and Ananya had that fight after which you left the office and that's when they abducted you sir... Shreya had orders them to drug you so that you could not comprehend well and your short term memory was made a blur... And she had succeeded too.. But according to her she forgot to give you a dosage of drug and that's how you managed to escape !!... Well, God can't be so cruel can he ? Ultimately Truth will win... But her plan was full proof sir... We all had doubted Ananya when the news had leaked...and..."
"B-But.. Like you said... I am no different from Shreya isn't it Kabir ?"
Roni was there standing in front of Kabir. But Kabir couldn't see him. His mind could only remember the sight of Ananya that night. The tears in her eyes... The way she was shaking and trembling when Kabir was shouting at her.
" H-How ?... H-How could I have doubted her..."- He whispered out.. But the hardness in his throat made him choke.
Roni stopped talking and looked at Kabir and asked - " Did you say anything sir?"
But Kabir Didn't reply a single word. He was just looking at Roni with wide eyes and was breathing heavily. Roni asked with concern - " Are you alright sir?.. Why is your eyes so red?"
" Kabir... Plea... Please... Just listen to me.. "
"Sir... What's the matter ?"- Roni asked looking into Kabir's blood red eyes.
" Kabir I know your angry on me... But please... Let me explain it to you ... It's all a mistake"
Roni touched Kabir's shoulder and called out again - " Kabir Sir ?... Sir?"
" Kabir ... Please ... It's not what your thinking ..."
"What has happened to him?"- Roni thought as he shuck Kabir further trying to bring him back to reality.
" Kabir why are you saying that... Please Kabir..."
Roni looked about at how people were staring at the two of them as they walked by. Kabir was just standing there like a statue. Roni called out In a louder tone- "SIR?"
" Kabir... Plea... Please... Just listen to me.. "
" Kabir... Please..."
"SIR !! KABIR SIR??" - Roni almost shouted . And with that Kabir jerked out of his own world. He looked at Roni and said quickly -"I forgot to buy a medicine Roni... I will be right back..."
And with that Kabir just walked off leaving a confused Roni who looked at his retreating figure.
Roni thought to himself - "What had happened to Kabir sir ?"- he took a deep breath as he shrugged his shoulder and said out - " Anyways let me go and see Our lioness !!"
~ ~ ~Kabir almost ran from Roni. He didn't want Roni to look at him breaking down. He didn't want Roni to witness what the guilt and frustration that was in him right now was doing to him. He just wanted to run away. He just wanted to run away from anything that reminded him of what he had done and how he had accused Ananya. His Ananya.
Finally when he reached a corner of the corridor kabir stopped. And he just dropped down in the the nearby seat.
His heart was beating so fast. Guilt was consuming him by the second. It was just consuming him.
"You might doubt yourself Kabir... But I know My Kabir very well...I will never doubt him.."
He rested his head on his hands and closed his eyes shut
"Oh god !!" were the only words he managed to whisper out.

" I think I have to leave now Ananya..." - Roni said as he got up from an adjacent stool.
Ananya gave a frown. Roni had managed to cheer her up. And she didn't want him to leave so soon. She said - " Roni.. Why are you in a hurry?"
Roni laughed and said touching her hand - " It's because madam.. Kalidh has become a breathing Dragon and is firing everyone and anyone because the Star duo are on a honeymoon in the hospital!!"
Ananya narrowed her eyes and said - " It's not funny Roni!!"
Roni laughed and said - " Well it is !! Anyways... I seriously must leave now..."
And he patted her shoulders and gave a reassuring smile and said -" Take care ... Okay?"
Ananya nodded her head.
Roni turned around and he exclaimed upon seeing Kabir standing at the door step hesitantly - " Kabir Sir !.. What took you so long?"
Ananya immediately looked at Kabir who was standing there just looking at her with strained eyes. "What had happened to him?"- She thought with panic.
Kabir entered the room but didn't utter a single word. Roni looked at him and then said after a second - " Did you manage to get the medicine you missed to buy?"
Kabir just nodded his head. But his gaze never left Ananya.
Roni gave an awkward laugh and said finally realizing that something was going on between the couple and that he had to leave them alone - " Well... Then I must leave... Bye !!"
Saying so Roni just walked out not waiting for Kabir to respond. And neither did Kabir respond to Roni's Farwell.
Ananya stared at the weak Kabir who stood there looking at her and asked slowly -" Kabir...? What happened?... Why are you looking so weak?... Is anything the matterrr..."
By the time the word left Ananya's mouth Kabir had come running towards her and hugged her as she lay on the bed. Ananya felt her body suddenly freeze. " What had happened to him?"- Her mind kept on asking her.
"Kabir what happened...?"- she asked as she creased his hair.
But he didn't respond. He only tightened his grip on her. And at that moment she understood that he didn't want to say anything. So she just allowed Kabir to hold on to her, and reassured him by stroking his hair slowly.
After about 5 minutes of the silent hugging, Kabir finally managed to utter within his breath - " S-Sorry..."
But it was loud enough for Ananya to hear it. And the moment he said that she burst out in tears. And he held in to her more tightly. And he kept repeating" I am so sorry...I am so sorry Ananya.." Over and over again.
And after what felt like an hour. Ananya finally said in-between her sobs- " I-I would.. Never... Betray you K-Kabir...I could n-never do that..."
Kabir let go of her and looked at her and cupped her face in his hands and said looking into her eyes with his red ones - " I am sorry... I am so sorry Ananya... I was so consumed in my ego to prove against Shreya that I..I..."
And words just got stuck up in his mouth and he closed his eyes as he remembered what he had done. Kabir placed his head near her cheeks and pressed his lips together as he mentally cursed himself. How could he have compared Ananya with Shreya... ? How could he ?
He heard her say in a weak voice - " Do you love me Kabir ?"
Kabir immediately looked up and looked into her eyes. She again asked him - " Do you love me Kabir?"
Kabir nodded his head and said cupping her face - " Y-Yes Ananya... Yes .. I love you so much... I love you more than anything in this world... I love you more than I love myself !!"
"Then... that's all I need Kabir..."- She said smiling at him.
Kabir's eyes widened. He was left speechless. He said out her name as he hugged her again.
Ananya broke the hug and She said looking into his eyes - " Wait... not so fast... I want something else too!!.."
Kabir raised his eyebrows and asked - " Something else ?"
Ananya nodded her head innocently as she said with her big almond eyes - " Hmm.. I lost the Ring my fiancee gave me.. So I want that back.. Well i want a bigger one... and ..."
Kabir's eyes widened as she said each word. And a smile formed in his face. He asked narrowing his eyes - "And??"
" And ..."- Ananya continued trying to control her laughter- " And I want to become Mrs.Kabir Sharma in a week or two..."
Kabir burst our laughing and so did Ananya. And finally when they stopped laughing Ananya gave a shocked exclamation- " Oh God !!!"
Kabir at once looked at her with shock and asked with widened eyes - "What happened!?... Is your head Aching ?.. Should I call the doctor ?"
Ananya Nodded her head and said touching Kabir's chest - " No Kabir... I am fine !!... But..."
Kabir panicked even more. He asked quickly- " But what Ananya?"
Ananya said looking at him intently giving a sad expression - " Look At you!!! You look so skinny !!!... I was ready to marry you because of your Macho looks !! But you look sooo Non Macho now !!!"
Kabir's eyes widened and so did his mouth. And he was just staring at Ananya who continued with a pout- "... How can you cheat me like this ? You should take care of your muscles and biceps !! Oh God !! I have been cheated !!"
Kabir Narrowed his eyes and said - " Well what else did you expect Ananya...? I was abducted by a gang of men who hit me on my head... And then I was kept captive by my EVER so wonderful Ex Wife who drugged me as if I was some freaking drug addict and then when I finally managed to escape by foot .. By darling Baby had fallen for the wicked witches trap .. And As always I had to go to her rescue... And..."
Kabir stopped as he looked at her with naughtiness. Ananya was grinning by now. She asked slowly raising her eyebrows - " And?..."
Kabir came a bit closer to her and whispered as he smirked - " And... As My darling was missing her editor in chief ... She had given in to eating.. A LOT of eating, in a matter of fact... And because of that ... I broke my back in the process of carrying her to the hospital!!"
Ananya's eyes widened as her cheeks puffed up.
And a loud voice was heard shouting the name Kabir!
Kabir looked at Ananya As she was huffing and puffing and saying how much she hated him. But the whole while there was a smile on his lips.
"You don't know how much special you are to me Ananya!!.."- He thought to himself as his smile widened.
"I know it Kabir..."- He heard her say in a soft tone as Ananya pulled him down for a bone crushing hug.

I really cant believe that The Memory has ended. My mind is completely blank right now ! Point Blank !
*Gives a sad laugh* I think I too didn't want it to end, thats why I suppose I was careless and late in updating the Epilogue. I would love to continue the Fan fiction but that wouldn't be right from my side and that would only make the fiction lose its charm.
So it's best that it ends here. And like they say - "There is no real ending. It's just the place where you stop the story" - And this is where I would like to Stop The Memory. But I am sure it will keep living and blossoming in your hearts and imaginations forever.
