True the hype does seem to very little, and I don't think it's just because they haven't promoted it aggressively.

The film seems to have no novelty. Same actors, doing the same thing helmed by the same director. We've seen it all before and neither Deepika or Ranbir are looking that impressive in the trailer and songs.

Also I think they're trying to market it based on the popular jodi aspect, but i'm not sure that's working. We see and hear too much of Deepika-Ranbir all the time, even when they're not working together, too much attention is given to them. I think it's leading to an overdose, kinda kills the excitement of seeing them together again. One of the great things about SRK-Kajol was they never over-exposed themselves. They came together for their films, created magic and then went their separate ways.

This movie could have garnered better buzz had it not been crushed between three biggies!

Although I love Tamasha's album, i can totally understand if masses can't connect to it.

This album is NOT for everyone!

Ranbir shooting in London while DP promoting alone is not helping either!

I can't see it being a success without a tremendous WOM which is unlikely because it gives the same ole' vibes!

They certainly dont take so many interviews of the other actors, they dont write so much abt their movies and if they do then they are negative ones.

Take this particular article for example, its saying the team of Tamasha is panicking...why would they say that? Negative publicity for Ranbir's film? While they are frothing at the mouth abt the PRDP publicity juggernaut?
Tamasha promotions have not even started in full swing and maybe Imtiaz and Ranbir Deepu wont promote it that aggressively and just leave it to WOM.

BTW, 2 underhyped movies did make it big this year, TWMR and Piku.
Talwar also did very well...so it all comes down to WOM based on CONTENT!
Content rules, Shandar flopped because content was bad...inspite of huge promotions by Dharma.

If media didn't write much about other actors and their films then I wouldn't have almost 8000 posts. 😆 The majority of posts that I make are about various films and various actors, articles and videos. Majority of them are not about Khans. Now if people don't watch them/read them/not as interested, that's their choice.

It's not like postive publicity is only reserved for Khans and other actors only get negative publicity. Few weeks ago there were reports of problems between Salman and Sooraj Barjatya, nothing positive about that.

And please don't BTW me about WOM and CONTENT. I ran the updates thread for TWMR. I posted articles and videos in Piku Updates thread. I opened the Talvar reviews thread. My post was never about content and WOM. It was about media's BO expectations about various films. On that we can agree to disagree. 😊

I don't know why people don't like the music. Wat Wat Wat is so catchy. Hopefully, it'll have good WOM. Nowadays, it goes either way.

The problem is the lackluster promotions. YJHD had such big events, Tamasha isn't even at that level b/c Deepika is still filming for BM and busy with that and Ranbir is filming for 2 films.

Yes, I know you are the one who always posts articles abt all actors and movies and I appreciate that, Thanks!

But we are running around in circles here. Do the articles u post abt other actors and their movies get the same response as the Khans movies? Nahin naa...that was my point, on this forum it seems there are only 2 Khans who make movies, even Aamir is not that popular here, also he releases like one movie in 2 yrs. 😆

If the company thats handling Tamasha promotions is the same as PRDP's then the truth is obvious. They are ignoring Tamasha and beating the drums for PRDP only. Even the Tamasha producer is a close friend of Salman's. I bet Tamasha promotions will begin only after PRDP has released.
