Shaandar was over promoted by its makers, its budget was too high, they were desperate for a hit.
They also knew their product wasnt that good, hence the frenzied promotions.
BV was just a horrible movie, so it was a disaster inspite of all the promotions.
Akshay does too many movies in a year so they all do average business, but didnt SIB have a good opening and collections?😕
Off beat movies like Drishyam dont stand a chance against blockbusters.
DDD was a dud, I watched it, wasnt half as entertaining as ZNMD.
You didn't get my point. You said films which don't star Khans are bashed by media before release. I was pointing out how media did expect something from these films before release. After release is a completely different story. Obviously in hindsight you can say why things didn't work out.
Before BV released, despite the negativity, looking at Besharam and Roy opening it was at least expected to have a bigger opening.
SIB didn't hit 100 cr. I think it made the least amount at the box office out of all Akki's releases this year. But Brothers and SIB were expected to be hits.
I don't think Ajay had any other release this year, that's why I named Drishyam. And obviously Drishyam BO collections wouldn't compare with BB. But because it was a remake of a successful South film and content was doing well this year, there were still expectations it would do well enough. It did do decent business. And that's a big deal coming a week after BB.
Maybe Imtiaz is confident of his product, so hes not overhyping it... and its a fact that Ranbir Deepika pairing is still very popular and will draw initial crowds.
On this forum, the Khan movies are hyped to the skies and BO success is predicted for them. But the other actors' movies are trashed even before release. I have seen people gloating and celebrating the failure of movies of the actors that I have mentioned. They are eveready to diss any other actors movies.
