What's more? This isn't the first time that the film industry has let superstition get an upper hand. Two years ago, on the occasion of Eid, Feroz Khan released his Janasheen on Wednesday. Karan Johar came out with Kal Ho Na Ho the following day, a Thursday. The former flopped but the latter went on to become a blockbuster.
So, following suit, Ekta believes that releasing her small film (as she describes it) Koi Aap Sa before Friday will help its prospects.
"It is Dussehra today. And all my exhibitors seemed to like the idea. Not that we're releasing the film in all the theatres today. But yes, about 70 per cent of the theatres will screen Koi Aap Sa from today," she says.
The industry made a valiant effort this year to overcome its fear for 'dark' periods by releasing a number of films throughout the traditional Hindu period of mourning – Shraddha.
Since most of them flopped, the film industry is now more than convinced that the stars above determine the shape and destiny of their releases.
Hence, this Diwali, Priyadarshan will be in theatres on Wednesday and Thursday (Nov 2 and 3) with Kyunki and Garam Masala. The latest David Dhawan comedy Shaadi No 1 will also be released on November 3, which is a Thursday.
SO koi aap se has released today then..
hopefully we should get some good pics of the premier 2moro or friday...😃
