I would say Amisha's two big hits were more credited to the heroes. KNPH launched Hrithik to superstardom, but didn't have the same impact on Amisha, even though it was also her debut. Everyone considered it a Hrithik Roshan film. Same with Gadar - it was a Sunny Deol film which could have been a hit with any heroine. I think the main reasons for her downfall is her poor choice of films/roles, and bad acting at times. Her emotional scenes were too overdone and was cringeworthy to watch.

Now for Amrita - I liked her even more. She was pretty, cute, and had potential. She was a better actress too. Maybe there was too much competition with her contemporaries and she just got the short end of the stick. In her time, Rani, Kareena, Preity, Aishwarya, Priyanka - all got bigger and better roles, which I see Amrita doing a good job in those types of roles too. And yeah, not enough movies with Shahid - which would have helped his career as well.

I don't care too much for Amisha, but I would like to see Amrita get a second chance.
