I don't watch the show very often but I have been watching on and off lately and I must express my sheer amazement at how well written a character Sanskar is. I mean it's almost shocking that Rashmi Sharma would end up creating a fabulous character like him. Sanskar is an intriguingly humane hero in the truest sense. Unlike most other heroes, he continues to flirt with the line of morality and moral crisis like a pro. Even when he is supposedly in love, he is never without sense. He almost always makes sense, has such great reactions to Swara's rejection that it's refreshing. He won't beg, he is not desperate for affection and yet is such a generous lover. He is so far, one of the most delightfully contradictory heroes I have seen on television and to think Rashmi created him. Wow.
His exchange with Ragini was effin fantastic tonight. The girl who plays Ragini and him share some mad chemistry and it would be a blessing to see those two trying to outdo each other. He masterfully danced along the edge of morality tonight and if the makers have any sense, they should utilize the guy's acting skills and Sanskar's deliciously complex personality.
I know this forum is obsessed with romantic pairing and such nonsense but the characters of Sanskar and Ragini are easily the breakout characters of the show. Characters who truly go beyond standard soapy characters. I include Ragini's fabulous characterization in this as well. Even seeing those two act together in the same frame in the balcony scene tonight elevated the scenes to a whole new level. They actually live out their characters and make them so unique through their sheer skills.

I agree.

Sanskaar is truly one of a kind, easily the best character to come out of TV in years. The guy is pure human. No unwanted sacrifices & tyaags, no ruthless angry young man who believes in manhadling & making the heroine fall for him & all that shiz. He's pure grey who has the right goal but isn't hesitant in using twisted methods to up his game & defeat his competition. It's really unbelievable that this guy is actually an RS creation 😆 The fact that this character is brought to life by Varun Kapoor's brilliant potrayal is just astounding. Rashmi Sharma is blessed to have bagged VK for such a role who does absolute justice to it.

Coming to Ragini, nope I don't like her tbh. No it's got nothing to do with hating negative characters, it's just that Tejaswi, the actress is honestly average at best. Talking about Ragini's character IDK but something is amiss for me. I've connected with the most horrible characters on screen but Ragini, I just can't seem to & the weak potrayal & acting of the actress is a major put off for me. Today she was good but Tejaswi literally has on-off days. That day while accusing Sanskaar for molestation, she was horrible to say the least. I was really apalled at her acting skills whereas today & yesterday she was good. Let's see if in future I can manage to connect with her. Helly as Swara is really good & apt & the chemistry between her & varun is off the charts. Swara & Sanskaar are like yin & yang, balancing each other although Swara does manage to go into devi mode a lot & Sanskaar behaves like her devotee sometimes. Love his I am not apologetic for loving you, nope ma'am 😆 Atta boy! Lux ji is too half baked, easily influenced & manipulated for me & guess will always remain so.

Agree with you to some extent. Sanskaar aka varun is fabulous actor and the character is a refreshing change ,neither dark nor unbelievable good but grey , and I noticed this change after he revealing his true face to Swara, I mean I felt like he is OTT when he pretended mental illness but when he got opportunity to act more emotions he used it impressively. And people love the Swasan pair cause that gives the fans more opportunity to watch him enacting various emotions . and I personalily believe the chemistry of a pair happens when both are equally good actors , Swara is equally good but unfortunately in TV serials the female leads have limited scope to act.
I agree with you regarding Sanskaar Ragini chemistry , they have got some strange chemistry, I love Ragini's expression when she confronts with Sanskaar ,but she is average in other scenes .

Sanskar was borderline a hated character initially.
Some unstable shit days.
But the actor has made many fall for the character.
He indeed has given a new stroke to sanskar, that many hated.

As for Ragini, nope ... that female is a total turn off , there is a constant pity look on her face, screaming sanskari innocence. Which is all a veil of conniving and manipulation.
PS: nothing to do with the actress.

I think the actor who is playing sujata is also pretty good... she has good comic timing and emotes very well imo
I dont know if she is marwari in real but the accent she uses looks very authentic..

in that mentaleshwari family only suju and RP has this marwari accent nobody else has it strangely.. in gadodia family only dadi has it right.. it probably takes lot of hardwork to learn it and do it so effortlessly.. sometimes she is OTT but I think that is how many comic characters are..

PS: I have no dislike for fish 😆
PSS: and ofcourse sanskar is brilliant always but i thought i will compliment his mom for a change 😃

^^ Sorry, my quoting is a bit screwed up so bear with me lol. Oh mte about Sanskar. He is neither the garden-variety angry man hero, nor a doormat. Yes, he is so refreshingly clear about his feelings for Swara but he never cries for her attention or loses his sensibility. It's pretty awesome how fantastic a hero he is. It is weird how more people fail to observe his unique position as a character and whine about stupid pairings or whatever. Daily soap fans never change lol.
Anyway, regarding Ragini, I would have to agree to disagree because Tejaswi is playing the hell out of the character. Her reactions are so unpredictable and her expressions are incredibly natural. She genuinely comes off as a sociopath and we all know how difficult it is to play such characters with a fresh style like this girl is doing. Her and Varun are two of the finest discoveries of the show.
Yeah the lead girl is cute but I don't really care about pairings and all so didn't really notice too closely. I am sure she must be good but I am awaiting on more Sanskar-Ragini games because Varun is killing it. Varun was f**king killing it in the balcony scene tonight. What a character and how well this seemingly pretty boy plays him. Who would've thought?

I am absolutely, totally in love with Sanskar. In fact it is Sanskar for whom I have started watching the show regularly. Yes even I am surprised that a RS show can create such fabulous male characters!! I always thought the male leads of RS shows were not more that poster boys. But this show changed it.
I have seen Ragini type villains in shows, but Sanskar is one unique character. Without him I wouldn't have even watched the show. And Varun Kapooor plays it so well.

Great post. I agree with a lot of your comments. Sanskaar is truly a superlative character. I think the credit probably goes to Gautam Hegde, who I think (may be mistaken but am quite sure I am right) is the writer- he was instrumental in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon too where they flirted with a borderline lead character and had a truly evil villain too, rather than Rashmi Sharma (but please don't shoot if I'm wrong on this). VK is truly outstanding as Sanskaar. I used to like him before this but only in a sort of generalised way- after this show, he makes my list of characters I will always remember with applause.
I am not in full agreement on Ragini. I don't have anything against Tejaswi but I feel at some point, Ragini become a bit too much for me. I think when it started off, it was a great concept of a weak but essentially "goody goody" girl whose constant suppression of her feelings led to a monster being unleashed when given the right stimulus (i.e. Sanskaar in the old days). I then just got fed up of the inconsistency in seeing her on screen- sometimes i find the expressions too lacking, the voice modulation for me is very bad and I think there is now too much emphasis on just seeing tears. The molestation drama scenes were appalling. Today- I felt she did the job but generally I have got to the point with Ragini the character itself that she's such a delusional victim playing psycho, that it gets tiresome. Shame for me as I have always found negative characters quite fascinating but let's see what happens when Ragini's truth is out.

Oh great point about him being grey. Grey is such a overexploited and overmentioned shade in Tv shows lately that I shudder to use that word anymore. To be fairly honest, most heroes do not even approach the so-called moral grey zone, either they are batshit crazy or dull. Sanskar, to my surprise, is neither so far. He truly appropriates the infamous no man's land area of moral codes and about bloody time a hero did that.
Eh. See, my post is not about comparison. I don't care to mention who is better than whom because that's very subjective and it's the general tendency to like the heroine so I don't really want to say anything there. But I do think the girl playing Ragini is very good, so is her character.
Yes, Sanskar and Ragini have some incredible and unique chemistry with each other and it's more obvious when they confront one another. That chai-ki-cup bit was very good too. Their chemistry should be utilized to the hilt.
