I don't think it would had been adapted really... its not a story which many people can even tolerate. Bro-sis do have sex, and that bit is highlighted not to be generalized or analyzed in the novel...its just that...its their way of reunion. And thats why no BW movie would work. Wayy to controversies...
P.S. for those who have seen the drama, were they real bro sis or cousins? Because in India even cousins would be scandalous controversy.
Plus the beauty of the novel is the way hierarchy and discrimination on various roles play its role...caste, gender, money... inBW its impossible to even think that it would be made. Maybe someone from west could do that, but they tend to be quite stereotypical

I read this book long time back and had loved it.

In fact a Pak drama was made on this and I have watched it nd it's a fantastic adaptation of the book. Has 19 epis nd just recently it was also aired on the Indian channel Zindagi. It ended this week.

For Anyone interested, the name of the drama is Talkhiyan and it was aired as Kisi ki Khatir on zee zindagi.

I haven't read the book but i simply loved talkhiyaan.
The acting, the locations, the actors especially sanam saeed and most importantly the dialogues were amazing. For some reason i loved the title of the show.

I had watched Talkhiyan back in 2013 and can't seem to get over it till this day, lol.
IDK if it's just me but I can't see Bollywood adapting God of Small Things. It's just too layered and complex, and if anyone actually does adapt it, then it wouldn't be as detailed as the book/talkhiyan was.
