Khan Begum wants the mystical blue flower to restore her powers, not really to help others. She feels that she has lived a life of punishment as a mere mortal.
Inside she felt Sanam had won all those years ago...
Mahira wants the magical flower to help Kainat, not for herself.
A pure selfless act.
Azaad doesn't want the flower at all. He wants it because his Ammi said it would help his Choti, Kainat. She is everything to him. Azaad looks like a being stuck in permanent hiding. He's kept himself in isolation, not letting anyone near, his secret consumes him.
***
Mahira finds the mystical blue flower, but she also runs into an animal. A glowing red eyed animal that scares her into running away. while running away, she bumps into a stationary man.
Curious, she asks him,"What in the world are you doing here?
Azaad cannot hide his irritation. Oh God woman, can't you just freak out and run away home or something? Must you stand here and face the shadow who doesn't want to face you?
Armed with a stick?

Mahira isn't perturbed. Armed with a stick she confronts the man into turning and (as the moon is hidden) a temporarily normal eyed Azaad turns.
"What? You? What are YOU doing here? You know there's a scary animal back there, red eyes and all, super scary !!"
"This is the jungle, the home of animals. Go straight home RIGHT NOW !!"
Mahira turns to go instantly, then decides that she won't be told by the likes of him outside of her work place. She is cutely obnoxiously and it gets under Azaad's skin.
He can't make her do anything. He can't scare her away, she's not afraid. He just can't push her away. Nothing works on her.
Impatient, he drags her out of the jungle and she trips and falls, injuring her foot. SO he lifts her up.

A fledgling magic... between hearts...
O mere... o mere.. mere o yaara...
He looks at her almost fondly. In this most stressful hour in the middle of a full moon night, she distracts him, unafraid of him. Is this the closest someone has come to him other than his vulnerable sister?
His eyes smile so sweetly.
The converse is seen little later. He appears to his Ammi, in his Janwar-form. Ammi is afraid of him. She takes few steps back , warily. She fears his animal instinct , that he might hurt her. Even when she speaks, its it a concilliatory, abating manner. Like talking to an angry lion in captivity.
"Azaad? I'm so sorry, you had to go out for me in your most difficult hour. Thank you Azaad. Did you bring it? The Neele Kachnar ki phool? If you love your sister, you must have brought it..."
"A son has upheld his promise. Now is the time for a mother to fulfill hers..."

He's different with her. Almost forbidding. And the mother is afraid too.
Suspicion: Is Azaad an orphan she picked up, I wonder? A magical being she found and kept to do her bidding in secret? Their relationship seems more like a faithful personal guard than a son.
Khan Begum gets her flower. <PHew! I was worried Mahira will get a powerful enemy so soon in the story. But as villains typically are, they can't resist the opportunity to gloat over a victory first. >
She taunts Sanam. You didn't win, Sanam! I will get my powers back for sure! I already have what I need!! And where are you?? Where? DEAD !!

Precap:
Mahira looks up her Abbu's book of supernatural creatures and identifies what she saw.
KB finds her flower burnt, and seeks a person who can help, at the Kabristaan...
