CHAPTER ELEVEN

Ishita couldn't believe what was happening much less the behaviour of both Raman and Shagun. Whatever had just happened was so not called for. She unlike Shlok was not going to just walk out because it made her maybe angrier than anyone else given she was somehow in the middle of all this. They both were wrong on so many levels.

She walked over to Raman's table pissed as hell and whatever was about to happen not even Shagun could see coming. Raman had turned away from their table expecting Shlok to do something in response so when he felt someone tap his shoulder he turned expecting to see Shlok not Ishita.

'Ishi...'' he tried to call her name but he could see she wasn't having it

Raman could see her normally calm demeanour had changed and one could tell she was gunning for blood. It surprised him a little but because he could tell her face was all contorted with anger. She looked at him for a second or two and before he knew it her palm smacked his cheek leaving behind a pain so stinging felt like an insect bite

He held his cheek turning his head as he looked at her and she was looking straight at him, much to the shock of everyone at his table and the restaurant as well.

'You disgust me...'' she said before she turned to Shagun and said

'And you, I don't think there is a bigger idiot on this planet than you. You're as daft as they get...'' and with that she pushed her glasses in and walked out of the restaurant leaving a shocked Shagun and an even more shocked Raman

'Is it odd that I found that absolutely hot...'' Said an absent minded Romi staring at Ishita who was walking out

'Did I say how much I like this girl. I just love her yaar...'' Said Simmi as she watched a tearful Shagun and a pissed Ishita walk away

She turned to Raman who was in so much shock you would think someone had slapped him back to reality

'By the way, you totally deserved that...'' Said Simmi as she took her desert and sat back down

Ishita hadn't even digested what she had done until she got outside. She looked at her trembling hand trying to process what she had done and couldn't believe it. She saw Shlok making his way to the parking lot and all her worry about the incident sort of went to the back banner until further notice.

'Shlok... Shlok wait...'' she called out causing Shlok to stand and wait for her

'I am so sorry about what just happened in there...'' she said

'Why are you apologising? This isn't your fault...'' he said looking frustrated

'I know but I feel so bad. You didn't deserve that, No one does. I am so sorry that you had to go through that.'' She said

'Uhhh well... It is my fault for falling in love with her and staying even knowing she never really loved me...'' he said

Ishita felt so bad and also a tad responsible given she was the one who had introduced the two.

'I feel so guilty I wish I never introduced them...'' she said

'Oh Ishita this one is not on you. If she wanted to get with Raman's crew she would have found a way... And besides I think this is much more than just being with the cool kid'' said Shlok as he tried to hide his tears

'Well am sorry... Is there something I can do? Come to hostel I will prepare you something to eat...'' she said causing Shlok to chuckle as he said

'You really think food will fix this...''

'I don't know... May be... You were hungry before we walked in there...'' she said innocently

'Thank you for the concern but I will be okay. I just want to be alone...'' he said hugging her before he got in his car

'Can I give you a lift...'' he said

'No I am okay. Hostel is just a block or two away...'' she said looking at him with pity

'Oh right... Forgot you're not Shagun... You can actually allow walking to hostel'' he said getting into his car and driving off

She watched him drive off before she finally walked away from the parking lot making her way to her hostel.

It had been a long day, one she was even dreading talking about with anyone but also understood that she needed to. She got to hostel and quickly freshened up, had a change of clothes and left for Mihika's place. She really needed to be away and wanted some time to just keep her mind off of everything.

It had been a couple of hours and she wanted to just go back rest before prepared for the next day.She walked into the gate she could see there was Raman's car and she figured he probably had brought back Shagun and she genuinely didn't want to deal with all that drama so she just sat in the gardens and waited for him to drive away.

She had been sitting there for about 45 minutes when she saw Romi walked out of the hostel got into the car and driving off. She figured maybe it was Romi who had brought Shagun back and so she walked back.

Shagun was sitting on her bed fuming as well because of the way the whole thing had turned out. As soon as Ishita walked into the room all hell broke lose

'How dare you talk to me like that...'' Said Shagun but Ishita ignored her walking to her table and dropping her books and removing her glasses as well

'I am talking to you, don't ignore me...'' said Shagun

'You know what your problem is Shagun, you look for trouble even when it isn't there and I for one am not in the mood for you paranoia.'' Said Ishita

'What is that supposed to mean?'' said Shagun

'You and thinking that everyone is out to get you and everyone wants what you have. I have known you all my life and I have known Shlok for close to three years now, Why on earth would you even think he would do anything that wouldhurt you and you just sat there and watched like Raman insulted him What is the matter with you?'' Said Ihsi6ta

'Oh if you feel so offended then maybe you should have him...'' Said Shagun

'O please anyone who leaves me for you, I am not interested in...'' Said Ishita

'Why you think you better than everyone else...'' Shagun Said

'NO... Not everyone, just you. I am a better human being than you and that is just a statement of fact. Now move over I need to take a shower...'' Said Shagun

'Ohh I just hate you sometimes. You have tried to upstage in in this relationship with Shlok sometimes I feel he is dating the both of us. ' Said Shagun

'Up stage you... Really... That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and for you information, you problems are of you own making. You always think what you have isn't enough and you need more. That is not my fault...'' Said Ishita

'What the hell does that even mean...'' Said Shagun

'Well lets back track a little bit, before Shlok you had Amir, Tarish and Pratik in that order. You know what they all have in common, you broke up with all three and all of them because you got bored and got into the next or you thought they were cheating but usually it was because you saw someone else you usually thought was better. Then Shlok came around and I figured well, just maybe this one will be a keeper because he understood your crazy and he loved you and I know for a fact you loved him too because he is the one who had lasted...'' said Ishita as she turned to look at Shagun

What the hell has that...'' Shagun tried to speak but Ishita interrupted

'Shut up am not done. He has stayed given how miserably you have treated him he stayed and yet you somehow think because he loves you or is in love with you, it gives you the right to treat him like shit. What did he do that was so bad?'' said Ishita

'How dare you? Why don't you find your own boyfriend and stay out of my relationships. This is none of your business?'' said a furious Shagun

'Actually it is my business because Shlok is my friend and he deserves better than this and also for the very obvious reason, I am somehow in the middle of all this. What is it with you anyway? You have a stupid list that he by the way fulfils to perfection so what is it that you want. Or is it because his father is not a famous millionaire like Raman's?'' Said Ishita

'Ishita what is your problem? Get a life and stop trying to live mine. You problem is that you're jealous of me, that's it...'' Said Shagun

'I... Ishita Iyer... jealous of you... HAA! What could you possibly have that I would want...'' Said Ishita

'I have it all. I am beautiful and sexy, I command attention and you wouldn't even if the human race depended on it. I don't strike for stuff because it is handed to me on a platter...'' Said Shagun

'Somehow I don't think that is something you should been proud of let alone advertising as something worth of anyone's jealousy...'' Said Ishita rolling her eyes as she walked away causing Shagun to move ahead and look at her

'And the only reason you're here flipping out is because the guy you're so desperately crushing on is actually interested in me and not you just like it was with Shlok...'' she said

'OOhhh you think so... It is not you that he is interested in but rather the fact that you would look cool on his arm, like an expensive watch and when something better comes he will drop you faster than you say please and secondly yes I did have a crush on Shlok but I got over it and unlike you, relationship actually mean something to me, I don't screw them up for my own personal gain. And as far as Raman is concerned Shagun, I don't need to try or flip out about anything for two simple reasons, One I know he actually likes and respects me more than he does you and that for me mean much more than just being any other 'expensive watch'' and secondly I know I deserve better than a man who would treat another human being that way so on that basis, you can have him if you want I am not interested ...'' Said Ishita

'You so pathetic and needy it is depressing. I don't even know where you would be if it wasn't me...'' Said Shagun causing Ishita to look at her as tears filled her eyes

'I know I shouldn't probably be hurt because it is something that I would expect you to say...'' said Ishita

'Besides with that stupid crush you have will never go anywhere. Thank God for Romi who helped you set up that stupid game, it is the only way you wouldhave got a chance to kiss Raman. I mean come on you really think he would have even looked at you twice.'' Said Shagun

'What has that got to do with anything and what business is it of yours whether or not I kiss him.'' Said Ishita

'Whatever even if he did kiss you back, it was probably out of pity because come on look at you?You're just pitiful and pathetic...'' Said Shagun

Ishita was so hurt and levied with Shagun and yet she didn't expect any less from someone like her. She become angry and began throwing books around the room like a crazy person scaring Shagun

In all this chaos Raman came walking in as it turned out he was around all along and had gone to get some water for a Shagun who had been crying and what he walked into he didn't expect

'Wow what is going on...'' he said

'Wow Raman you just never stop...'' said Ishita

'Don't insult my guest if you want you can leave after all I happen to pay for the room anyway'' Said Shagun to which Ishita turned to Shagun surprised and shocked because she was not expecting this

'Wow Shagun really... Fine...'' she said as she grabbed her bag and begun to throw in a bunch of clothes

She walked to her desk grabbing a few of her books and throwing them in her bag before she said

'You know Shagun you are my best friend and it is my job to tell you when you doing something wrong otherwise I wouldn't be a very good friend. You treat people like they are your servants and everyone should bow down to your needs, desires and moods. You leave in this fairytale world were you think you're the princess and everyone else is your peasant subordinate. I love you but sometimes you make it hard for someone to care...''

Shagun had never had anyone talk to her this way but it was also true that every time she went out of line Ishita was always her sound of reason but today it was different. Ishita had never talked to her this way

'And what is sad in all this is that your more miserable than you even realise because for you to map out your life based on what bunch of fellow college brats think about you is more sad and pathetic than my poor supposedly meaningless life. You don't even know what you want. This fight is not even about Shlok but you. And I feel so sorry for you that you can't even see that. Each and everyone you have as a friend will disappear once the parties go, and the free lunches you offer. When you fall sick it is me and Shlok that are always here. Your brother passed away breaking you a part and even as much as you pushed us away through your partying, treating us like shit we stayed. Don't even get me started on your cheating on Shlok but still, he stayed. Even when you had that pregnancy scare he stayed, knowing it wasn't even his, he stayed. How many men will do that? I have been there for you throw all those heartbreaks and fears and even when I become your go to person where you dump all your anger I gracefully takeit because it is what friends do. They are there for each other. You have something amazing and I feel so bad because I know you have pretty much f**ked it all up and over what? Just so people could say Shagun dines with the great RKB or is friends with him, or he liked her... See Shagun there is absolutely nothing that you have that I can possible be jealous of because this compass life will end, actually much sooner than you think. How many of these posh cool friends will you still have?'' Said Ishita

'I don't care Ishita just go...'' Said Shagun

'No... No... No... You do care... Stop lying because it is me you're talking to. I know you better than you know yourself. I read you like a book. I will say that before I leave. I bet you Shagun you going to one day fall completely in love with Shlok and you will feel like you can't even breathe because he won't be there. I just hope for your sake that doesn't happen when he finds someone else and falls in love with somebody better than you because unlike me, you don't have it in you to survive that...'' She said as tears finally streamed down her face before she finally walked out

Raman stood there feet planted on the floor not knowing what to do or say given how tense the situation was. It made sense what she had said and most importantly he was slowly realising that his jealous might end up screwing up more than he thought but as all egotistic people are, they never accept when they are in the wrong. He turned and called out to Ishita as she walked out but she shrugged him off not wanting to say anything to him. As he turned to Shagun she instead said

'Get out...''

He probably should have stayed and tried to see whether she was okay but he had to talk to Ishita as he too thought he had a bone to pick with her.

Shagun banged her door shut and broke down crying knowing there was a good possibility she had screwed up the best two relationships she had ever had in her life. Ishita was right, she had f**ked up royally and it was going to take a lot to fix it. It wasn't fair to either Ishita or Shlok hell even Raman who had gotten sucked into all this as well. She just broke down sitting on the floor as she started sobbing

Raman ran after Ishita catching up with her but she just continued walking away. He grabbed her and walked in front of her

'Stop... Ishita stop...'' he said

'Oh God I think I have had enough of you today you know that...'' She said

'Wait are you mad at me? You're the one who slapped me?'' he said

'You lucky it was just that I should have punched you instead...'' she said

'Are you seriously upset with me? What is it with that dude anyway? Are you in love with him or something? Seems like you're in love with your best friends man'' he said causing Ishita fume all over again

'Watch the way you talk to me Raman, I may be timid but I have dignity. I will not tolerate you talking to me that way let alone disrespect me in that way...'' she said

'Your protecting that man who put his hands on her? He doesn't treat her as well as you think...'' Said Raman

'Wow you have just gone crazy... Maybe that slap sort of got to your brain. Shlok wouldn't hurt a fly let alone Shagun. You have known us for what 2/3 months and all of a sudden your an expert judge on what were are and what we can do?'' said Ishita sarcastically

'Ishita I walked in on...'' he tried to talk but she said

'Walked in on what? You have no idea what Shagun is capable of especially when she wants to prove a point. Whatever you walked in she told me about and it would interest you she called him right after you left and they made up because no one was hitting anyone. They were having a fight and you misinterpreted the whole thing. She wanted to make him jealous so she let you think that knowing you would stand up for her.'' Said Ishita to a shocked Raman as she moved walking ahead of him before she turned to say

'You know I was beginning to think I was wrong about you but then you pulled that stunt at the restaurant and I was disappointed in myself because I couldn't believe I considered someone who treats another personlike that as my friend. Shagun is not even your girlfriend what was the need to interfere? Shlok is my friend and I have known him for close to 3 years now and I can genuinely say I have never seen him so hurt. I even felt embarrassed and ashamed because it was me who introduced you and Shagun formally. I expected better from you Raman. I expected more...'' she said looking at him as tears filled her eyes

'Look I didn't think...'' he tried to speak

'No... You never thought about anything. What the hell did you think I was doing with him anyway? I think I have earned a right from you to give me a benefit of a doubt. I have never given you reason to doubt me or even suspect of me what you were thinking then what happened all of a sudden. You know what I don't even want to know...'' she said as she grabbed her bag and began walking away

'Ishita please wait a minute. Look I was just...'' he tried to speak again but she wasn't having it

'I don't care Raman. I just don't want you anywhere near me ever again. Is that clear.'' She said walking ahead before she turned saying

'You know just for the record, his car got a flat tire and we had to wait on a mechanic to fix it. You can check with one of your friends, Ally is it, she actually gave us the mechanic's number...And to think I was actually falling...'' She addednot completing the statement before she walked away leaving a not only shocked Raman after realising he had pretty much screwed up

A few days had gone by and Shagun was slowly realising that damage control was going to be harder than ever. She had really hurt them with the way things had panned out and she was realising she was all alone. Her so called friends were gone and she was all alone. Her best friend had moved out and the one person she didn't think would veryleave her, Shlok was so angry to even look at her. She missed Ishita but most importantly she missed Shlok. Sometimes they say maybe you have to loss something first in order to realise how valuable it is and that was the case with Shagun.

She made up her mind to go and crawl, growl and do whatever it was possible to get back with Shlok. She never wanted this.

She went to his place and she could clearly see he had books in his hand and was probably off to the library

What is it? Shagun, I am most definitely not in the mood for any of your crap right now.'' He said

'No... Shlok please just hear me out. Two minutes... Just give me two minutes of your time please...'' She pleaded and Shlok angry as he was he wanted to know what she had to say because truth be told he missed her too

'I know I am the one person you really don't want to see and I get that but I just want to tell you that I am so sorry Shlok. I never wanted to hurt you and I should have known that whatever I told you must have hurt you so your anger was justified. I probably would have acted worse than you did...'' she said as she began to tear up

'What do you want Shagun?'' Asked Shlok

'I want you, I want us. I want things to go back to the way they used to be because I miss you and I love you Shlok more than you know. I know I don't usually show it and I am so sorry. I will do better Shlok I swear I will just please... Don't shut me out, don't leave me...'' She said and as tears rolled down her face Shlok could say it was the first time in a long time that he had seen her that honest and open like that

'I never ever want to lose you and the thought of it didn't really hit me until I saw you walk off. I thought you would come back but you didn't and I realised that has to be the scariest thing I have ever been through. I never want to feel like that again. Shlok please tell me what can I do to make this better...'' She added as she cried

Shlok knew there was a lot he and her needed to work on and on all honesty he wasn't blameless too. Sometimes he encouraged this behaviour and he knew it. You can't help who you fall in love with and he really wanted to try this some more but he had to get something straight

'Is that all...'' he suddenly said

'What...'' she asked

'The kiss... Was it all that happened?'' he asked and she looked at him scared to his wits that he might have found out and if he did what would he do

'Yes...'' She said holding her breath

'I am giving you a leeway Shagun to tell me everything now because if I find out your lying to me again I swear we are done.'' He said as tears filled his eyes and for the first time Shaun could see he was hurting too

'I swear nothing else happened...'' she lied as tears filled her eyes out of the guilty she was having

'Fine... One more chance and if you are not willing to work on us then we will be done...'' he said

Shagun sighed with relief as she walked very to where he was and leaned into him hugging him like her life depended on it. He was giving her a lifeline and she was going to grab it with both hands. She loved him more than anything and really wanted this to work.

'I love you...'' she said

'I love you too...'' he replied as he put his arms around her too.

CHAPTER 12; SCROLL DOWN

CHAPTER TWELVE

Three weeks later

This was the last day of exams, Economics was the last paper and everyone was going to be in the same place, at the same time for the first time. Raman tried to talk to Ishita when he saw her just before exams but she ignored him and walked away sitting at the other end of the hall.

This was a scene that was becoming all too familiar for the last weeks. Every time he tried to talk to her and try and explain himself she wouldn't let him and it was becoming unbearable. Only God knew how he was getting through these exams because he was more stressed in those three weeks than he had ever been in his entire life. It was hard and what made it harder was she actually kept in touch with Romi but not once would she talk to him no matter how much he begged.

He walked out and went to the exit door where he suspected that she would be coming out and waited. He wasn't going to leave today without talking to her, he had to talk to her, and he needed to talk to her for so many reasons. He unlike her knew they were more linked than she thought.

Ishita had a lot on her mind because she realised that since this exam was done, this was going to be the last time that she was free. She had sent her approval for that proposal, she had told her parents she was ready to get engaged. She knew she had done it out of haste and hurt but she was done. If this is how love was supposed to be and hurt then she would rather settle, she figured it would be an easier option than how she was feeling then.

But as the days got closer and closer, it became harder and harder to think about She was about to marry a stranger she probably would never truly love and yet she couldn't go back on her word. Ishita had a weakness of seeing people around her happy and trying to make them happy was all she knew to do but in the process she forgot herself.

She just wanted to go to her sister's place Mihika and finish a few things before she eventually left for home. She made her way outside and when she looked up she could see Raman was standing at the bottom of the stairs guessing he was here to see her. She didn't want to talk to him out of fear of opening up wounds she was so desperately trying to close up. It did feel good to see him, she had to admit although it was not something she would ever let show.

Raman saw her and let out a sigh of relief given the fact that he had not missed her. He had to get to the bottom of the matter because the next few days were going to be difficult if they didn't work through this.

'Ishita...'' He called out but Ishita just walked down the stairs and passed him making her way to the parking lot

'Ishita please just... Please will you just hear me out...'' he said but she just ignored him and continued walking

'Ishita please I am begging you... Ishita...'' He called out but she didn't turn

People in the parking lot were starting to notice something as a bit off and with the way Raman looked like he was going to just die didn't help matters either. Ishita who was dying inside walked a head as she heard him call her not wanting to even look back but Shlok and Shagun who had made their way into the parking lot saw her

'Shlok do something...'' Said Shagun shocking Shlok

'What do you want me to do?'' said Shlok

' Look I know you don't like Raman right now but please just help him. She listens to you...'' Said Shagun

Shagun knew she was the reason for all this and really wanted to make this alright but she just like Raman was in the dog house and Ishita wasn't barging. She was done and wasn't talking to anyone, not even Shagun.

Shagun had a habit of guilt tricking people into getting her way and Ishita would always fall culprit of this but this time even that was not working and Ishita had pretty much hit her breaking point and she was done. She knew it was time to let go or this friendship that had been so one-sided for so long.

Shlok hesitated a little because if it was up to him Raman deserved everything of what he was getting but whether or not Ishita was to forgive him was entirely up to her and seeing how much she was trying to hold back he knew he had to do something to bring this matter to an end. This situation was just making everyone sad and miserable.

He walked in front of Ishita and stopped her from moving ahead. She looked up at him and knew what he was saying. He took her hand and walked her back to where Raman was standing making her stand right in front of him. Raman looked at Shlok as he walked back with Ishita and was surprised that he was even helping. Shlok tapped Raman's shoulder and whispered

'Make this count...'' and he walked a head standing with Shagun

'Ishita please you have to believe me. I didn't mean for it to happen. I am so... so sorry for everything. I know I hurt you and broke your trust and lost your respect as well but I am going to do everything in my power to make it right. I promise just please... Ishita Please say something...'' he said but she just kept quiet

'Ishita please...'' he said as he came forward to try and hold her hand but she took a step back saying

'What do you want from me? What do you want me to say Raman?''

'Anything... Scream at me, yell at me, curse anything just please say anything...'' he said

'I don't have anything to say to you Raman.'' She said as she turned and walked away but he wouldn't let her. He walked in front of her saying

'Ishita please talk to me. I really miss you. I have apologized and I don't know what else you want me to do. Tell me I will do it''

'You apologized I listened, you've said your peace I have listened now I am leaving...'' She said as walked away

He watched her leave and he knew once she walked out there was no way she would agree to anything else. He felt like dying inside

Ishita please... Ishita I am begging you please... I am sorry...'' he said his voice breaking

Ishita could hear him call out her name and she just wanted in all honesty to just turn around and run to him but she couldn't. She had given her word and she was to be engaged so the only way it would work is if she walked away. Then she wouldn't have to see him again.

Raman begun to tear up as he watched her walk away and he became desperate. He didn't know what to do because he knew one of the best things in his life was walking away and chances were high that she wouldn't change her mind, then everything would fall apart. He fell on his knees and called out

'Ishita please... I am sorry...'' but she didn't turn

'Ishita...'' He called again but she didn't

'I love you...'' He called out

Ishita heard him and stopped. She wasn't even sure if she had heard him right or it as just the emotion of the day playing tricks on her and as if on cue he called out again

'I love you now please turn around...'' he said his voice breaking

Ishita wanted to turn and run to him as thisis something she had so wanted to hear him say to her. He was in love with her and she couldn't have been happier. She rubbed the tears with the back of her hand and almost turned but then remembered something important, her pending engagement and she couldn't.

Raman on bended knees held his breath when she stopped hoping and praying that she would just at least turn around and look at him. It would give him hope that there was still a possibility that he would salvage this.

'Please turn around...'' he whispered but she didn't

She began to tear up as she fought with herself not to give in to her emotions. It took everything in her power and all her strength to turn around and walk back to him as she instead walked a head heading out of the parking lot.

He watched her and couldn't believe that she was walking away. There were students who were all gathered in the parking lot given the utter shock of what was going on. This was RKB who would get any girl he wanted without even saying please and yet here was nerdy Iyer who no one even cared to know making him plead. It was shocking and everyone wanted to know how it all ended but it turned out to be a very sad depressing thing to witness given how broke Raman looked.

Shlok felt bad for him too because he could see something he hadn't seen since he met Raman, honesty. He really looked heartbroken and so shattered something not even Shlok would say he had seen coming. He saw people were know beginning to stare and gather around him as he knelt down in that parking lot and felt bad.

He walked over to where Raman was and said

'Come on let us go...''

'She didn't turn around. I thought she was but then she didn't...'' he said absent minded

'I know... Come on we will think of a way. ' He said as he took he tapped his shoulders causing him to stand up and follow them to Shlok's car

'Look we will just drive to hostel and talk to her...'' Shlok said once they got to his car that was at the end of the parking lot and very few people there

'She doesn't leave there anymore...'' Said Shagun

'Right forgot... How about we go you her sister's place, Mihika am sure she has gone there...'' Said Shlok

'Yeah but she is leaving tonight...'' Said Raman in a disheartened voice

'Why...? Where is she going am sure we can find her...'' Said Shlok

'Well that is going to be a problem given she is about to...'' Shagun said but Raman interrupted her completing her sentence

'Get engaged...'' he said

'What do you mean get engaged? To whom...'' Said Shlok

'I am not so sure as well and I don't think she knows too. It is an arranged thing. But hold on how you know...'' Said Shagun to Raman

'Because I am the arranged proposal...'' He said surprising Shlok but most importantly Shagun

'What the hell Raman? What are you talking about...'' Said Shagun

'My father and her father kind or sort of know each other through a mutual friend. My dad wanted to find me someone to marry after college, it is the Bhalla way, he says...'' Said Raman making air quotes before he added

'They set up a meet, my dad for some reason came back convinced that he had got for me the perfect woman. I of course wasn't all for it and didn't want to be party to it but my mother and father had already taken their proposal to the Iyers.''

'Hold up... Does Ishita know about this...'' Said Shlok

'No... When they took my proposal to the Iyers they weren't going to accept anything without any approval from their daughter so we had to wait. When it finally got back to us that she had said No... My dad didn't understand why so he pushed and pushed until that the Iyers finally allowed him to talk to her she told him that their daughter wasn't willing because she wanted to finish Scholl and make something of herself. Independence was everything to her and she didn't want to depend on anyone.'' Said Raman as he stared at where Ishita had gone almost as if half expecting that she would return

'So then how you ended up with her I don't get it...'' Said Shlok

'Well she managed to impress my dad. She told him she didn't want to know who he was or even his name and just wanted that he understood her point of view. He asked what conditions she would have if he were to change his mind and she told him that he wouldn't understand. Then they ended up giving her these 3 months as she thought about it. He brought back my picture at home saying she didn't even look at it but her parents gave him hers. I looked at it and saw this nerdy girl who I didn't even think I wouldhaveanything in common with her but my dad insisted that since she had 3 months to figure it out, I also get three monthsto get to know her and since she didn't know that the proposal was from me in the first place, it would be a fair playing field. When I found out who she was, I decided we meet. She was a tutor I was crappy at economics it was perfect. And then we met...'' he said

'Wow this is so absurd it sounds like a movie...'' Said Shlok

'Yeah tell me about it...'' Said Shagun

'I swear I didn't think it would materialise into anything. I was just going to go back tell my dad that it didn't work and I made up my mind because I genuinely wasn't ready for a commitment like that...'' he said

'Yeah we know...'' Said Shlok who knew too well about Raman's wild life relationship wise

'My life after I met her continued as usual. I just went about my life as usual as I got to know her I guess, my parties, my hang outs, my one night stands. But then little by little she stole a part of me I didn't know I even have and all those things didn't seem important anymore and now she is gone. I have screwed her over in so many ways I don't even think she is ever going to forgive me. If I tell her what I did she probably is going to just hate me even more.'' He said and Shagun knew this sentimental Raman was bout to blow the lid off and shewasn't ready or for that.

'Just calm down we still have time. We will sort this out. We will figure out a way...'' She said

'You don't understand. When she gave her approval planning began at the Bhallas. My parents were so elated and they think that I told her it was me but I didn't. The engagement is tomorrow and seeing she hasn't called it off yet can only mean she hasn't put the dots together yet.'' Said Raman broken

'Oh this is bad...'' said Shlok

'I don't know what the hell I am going to do...I really love her you know'' he said his voice breaking

Shlok shaking his head couldn't believe what he was hearing. Only Ishita couldhave a situation this complicated and keep it inside without showing nay worry for it. He unlike Shagun and Raman had actually been in touch with her throughout the entire time and yet she didn't even mention that any of this was going onlet alone that she was getting engaged.

This was something that was so out of this world and as forgiving as she was, she was also the worst judge when it came to people she expected a lot from and Raman had serious cause to worry because if she found out about this, about the fact that he knew all along and didn't tell her, there was no way this engagement was going to happen. She was very stubborn and they all knew it.

There was a little factor that he knew that these two didn't, Ishita had fallen in love with Raman the day of the centre but she was so good at hiding things that only people who knew her would tell she was in love. She did have a crush on Shlok but even he found out after he had begun telling Shagun when she told him about her signs that he took as being a helping friend. He had learnt to be observant from her and he had read her like a book.

The reason she wasn't so forgiving of Raman was because she was hurt the most with that restaurant confrontation. Raman didn't have to say a thing and it didn't need a genuine to know that Raman even without serious reason had thought the worst of her and that broke her heart into pieces. She understood how it felt when someone you cared about questioned your trust and also dignity and she also knew or at least thought that it would happen again, Someone she liked, might even love was again going to leave her for one useless reason that wasn't even of her doing. It was a hard pill to swallow and she was going to do everything in her power to have the last laugh, no matter what

'Okay look, Ishita is the most stubborn person I have ever met but she is also the most forgiving. All we have to do is make sure that we get you to meet her before the actually proposal ceremony and talk to her try and convince her.'' Said Shlok

'Yeah that would be great but how do you intend on doing all this alone. She will be watched like a hawk you know that...'' Said Shagun

'I will somehow draw Raman away while you convince Ishita to come meet him.'' Said Shlok

'Yeah, there is just one small problem, she won't talk to me and most importantly she didn't invite me...'' Said Shagun

'Yeah but she invited me but she said it was just a surprise family get together. You will be my plus one and we will be there together...'' Said Shlok

Really...'' Said Shagun who was surprised because she didn't think Shlok was actually even taking her

'Okay how about I get a place where Raman can talk to her privately without interference while you convinced her to come and talk...'' Said Shagun making all of them agree because it seemed to be the most logical thing to do

'Will it work...'' Said Raman who was clearly not convinced

'Be optimistic will you...'' Said Shlok as he taped her shoulder

'Yeah...'' Said Raman who was still convinced she wouldn't agree

'Come on let us go,'' Said Shagun and they all got into their cars and left.
