Ragini had and still has a MORE ROCKING relationship with her kids than Neil. Its just for the reason that the show started at such a phase where her kids were mad at her which led us to assume it was always like this. If you saw the flashbacks, she is more sincere with her kids and they have a rocking past that neil never had. Neil was always absent from his kids life while ragini was always a part of them.
Just because currently Neil's kids are out of trouble does not make him the better parent. He disowned his kids and ran back to America.
Ragini WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR HER KIDS IN THE PAST. Yes she is a strict mother but she loves them.

Ragini has always made an attempt to help them out.
She always tried to get close to ranbir, treat him right, she corrected his behavior with shilpa, she watched over him when neil was too busy drinking his life away. She tolerates his rude behavior and she worries for him when he is hurt. Even when he cut himself, the concern is geniune from her even when she called him aarav.
Suhani, ragini was the one who bloody saved her from getting kidnapped. She shared everything with suhani, even after her misunderstanding with neil cleared up, she hugged suhani and told her she loved her. They had late nights talking and laughing, she brought milk to her.
Aagham, she helped aaghamfind the way when he was lost. She laughed with him, loved him all the same. She made cakes for him, let him sleep with her, all these years whatever b-day gift she got for aarav she got for him as well.
I mean just because neil fullfills his kids every wishes is the only reason nishi and aarav had liked him.
When Aarav wanted to do bussiness, Neil supported him even when Ragini said no if it fails, he will be heartbroken.
When Nishi wanted to get married at a young age, Neil supported her even when Ragini said she will have problems at such a young age.
RAGINI UNDERSTANDS HER KIDS BETTER!!!!!!!!!!

PLUS RAGINI HAD MANY MORE SCENES WITH HER KIDS THAN NEIL DOES. Just because neil has a few scenes where he realizes that his kids exist to him does not bloody cut out the 15 years ragini has spent in her kids lives loving them. Making food for them, getting them safely to school, eating halwas with aarav at midnight, letting aagham sleep in her bed for the night because she will miss him when he's gone, making cakes for aagham each birthday with her own hands. This is a mother. Don't degrade her status because you don't find it going on currently.
Behave like a complete stranger to aagham and suhani, if you watch the past episodes, you would realize that she made cake with suhani and aagham, teahcing suhani how to make it. She told them stories about neil and her. Lately she has been trying her best to reach her children, be it ranbir, aarav, or nishi.
As for this engagement, just because she got engaged to move on with her life does not mean she forgot about her children. Even now she gives more importance to her children than she will ever to Aman!!!
If she had given up on her children, she wouldn't be promising herself to make aarva like her again, to continously let nishi walk over her, to let ranbir insult her over and over again as she attempts to talk them. Don't blame the kids idiocy and ignorance on ragini.
Ragini has always been in this journey of a mother, she been in it for over 16 years while neil started a year ago. She loved her children, cried with them, understood them and this is just a phase where they are hating her because of their own unjust accusations and feelings.
I DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE ALWAYS TARGET RAGINI WHEN THE SAME COULD BE SAID FOR NEIL.
