it was not just developed by any hindu.. the rishis practiced it.. so it was initiated by religion... the veri presense of resonating om... is testimony to this fact and gripe for the other religions... hindus are more tolerant and willing to get rid of the religion out of their yoga but all said... no one can forget yoga was invented by Madonna!!!😉

When Sri Sri ravishankar was addressing the European Parliament.

A member asked a question that Yoga is a Hindu tradition & mostly people like him (the member of parliament) being Christians find it difficult to accept n adapt to it as it's contrary to their beliefs.

Simple n brilliant reply by Sri Sri Ravishankar.

Firstly Hinduism is a way of living n not a religion.

By eating Chinese food one doesn't become a Chinese or by listening to Beethoven one doesn't become a German.

So if we can appreciate cuisines, music etc. from other countries then why shouldn't accept wisdom & techniques for a stress free living like Yoga which is from India. 😊

I don't care for these gurus who will make their own interpretations to appeal to the westerners. I am not referring to the particular example which you've given btw.
Who opened all these branches worldwide for times 3 Ravi Shankar. And now Jaggi Vasudev is also one of them.

That's exactly what I meant. Hinduism is a way of life which is dharma. It has gone to the deepest extent to uncover life's mysteries. Is there any other religions which talks about philosophy and metaphysics the way Indian scriptures do. I don't mean any disrespect, but can the bible ever match Nasadiya Sukta of Adi Shankracharya?

**Edited: Vulgarity** will say that Hindus believe in idolatry and never had the concept of one pervading force throughout the universe. The dvaita and advaita concept was first given by Hindus.
