Chapter 15

Pool of Guilt and Confusions

Warning: Sorry if you find this chapter to be illogical, stupid or rushed..!!

Sun rises and spreads it's rays across Raghav's room as he gets up and sits up on bed, feeling lost, "I will have to apologize her today, unlike last time, I won't miss it!" neither was he happy, nor excited for leaving the city. Raghav got up from bed and headed towards washroom feeling heavy in heart.

It was around 7.45 A.M. when Raghav's bedroom phone rang and he picked it up, expecting the obvious reason for the call and smiled when he heard, "Sir, you cab is here and Mr. Prem Kapoor awaits you on ground floor!" Raghav replied to the person, "I will be there in few minutes, it's check out time for us as well, please send someone to collect all the baggages." Raghav completed and as excited as child going to school on first day, Raghav got himself in front of mirror and made himself ready, as well tried practicing apologizing in front of himself too, this time to make sure he is successful in saying "Sorry"! he thought.

Raghav walked down the building, but nervousness within him, made him avoid meeting Prem and Kalpana anytime soon. "How will I do it? Not just on that day, but I was so harsh on her yesterday! What would she be thinking about me?" were trains of questions hitting his mind. "Sir," came the voice from back, "We have brought down and kept your luggage near the car to be loaded, and everything is ready." Raghav just gave "Ok" nod to man who spoke to him, he took deep breath before heading towards the car. Sammy joined him too and they smiled at each other.

Raghav and Sammy reached the car, and Raghav looked around to find Kalpana, but couldn't see her anywhere, instead some other young man was out there loading there other luggage in car, "Maybe he is some man here," thought Raghav as he continued looking around to see if he can see Kalpana anywhere, but soon enough Prem came in front of them and called out to man loading luggage, "Sir, this is Rishi, and he will drive us to airport today!" said Prem, and his words brought in tremendous level of shock to Raghav. "Does she hate me so much? She wouldn't even wish to see me once? Won't even give me chance to clear myself?" where "n" number of thoughts running in his mind, making him cringe for those seconds till Prem cleared the reason looking really sad, "She won't be able to make it as her father had got severe attack last night, inspite of being paralysed! Family is in hospital with Vitthal uncle," Prem spoke with heavy heart. Raghav, though relieved her reason of not coming wasn't him, was not happy with what she might be going through. ". All of them settled in the car, with no one exactly happy, like they might have ever been. Sammy too was feeling bad. He too had wished to see her and bid her bye before leaving. While no one was really happy, Sammy had a small doubt, as he asked Prem, "Does Kalpana have any brother or sister? I mean who all are in her family?" Prem answered him with similar information which Kalpana had spoken to Raghav about and Raghav was still lost, as he still remembers her words while she had visited their room in evening and they waited in balcony overlooking at city, ". My dad is suffering from paralysis. He had met with minor accident thanks to some bikers who hit him, while he and mom were coming from doctor's." He recalled her telling him about Sahil's deal and her determination to prove herself to be capable of being of some use to their parents, her mentioning about her sibling, ...

And his ears went on to hear things which Prem had added, "Actually Pakya dada and bhabhi were suppose to come here yesterday evening, but it seems, they didn't find suitable time, hence they cancelled their visit her, ... Kalpana too just got to know this two days back!" completed Prem... His words made Raghav cringe in pain as he recalled, "You all Jadhavs are filled with the same cheap mentality, of disloyalty and ungratefulness," drop of tears left his eyes this time, "She wasn't already in her state of mind, but the lady didn't even show at a thing on her face, and me? I had been so cruel ... So mean to her, I wish... I somehow wish I can apologize to her, just meet her once... Speak to her atleast... But this is not the time, she might not even pick up calls..." Raghav tried wiping of his tears, as they kept on forming at corner of his eyes... He was now completely filled with guilt, as if just saying sorry, wouldn't be enough... And look at the time, he has to leave the country, he has no time left to repent for his actions and misbehaviours! All these realization, was just worsening his mental state. Sooner he started breathing heavier, and it was not unnoticed by Sammy, who kept assuring hands on his shoulder, "Are you ok Raghav?" he asked... Raghav looked at him and do nothing more than nodding at him, as Sammy continued, "Sorry Raghav, I know... I mean, I can understand what you might be going through for now!" Raghav still didn't speak a word and was lost, as his eyes were in direction of road. Raghav was remembering, all the moments he had in car, while Kalpana was driving, her chirpy talks, her hindi slangs, and everything she spoke about the city, small smile did appear on his face involuntary, but that didn't ease the pain he felt.

Soon when they reached near airport and entered the area of airport authority, Raghav could re-visualize their meeting week ago, when he met her and was irked by the fact that Sahil had arranged for some lady driver, he clearly remember his own reactions as well, as how she had started proving herself from that day when she had carried all the luggage and kept it in the back of the car. Taxi came to halt in front of the airport and Raghav and Sammy got down and for their things unloaded from back of the car. Raghav once again glanced around, wishing he can once again go back in time of one week when he had come and change everything. Raghav and Prem shook hands as Prem bid them adieu, as Prem thanked them and assured them to be up at their help anytime, and also on behalf of her father. Rishi too stood there behind him with smile, and Raghav just wished it was Kalpi there for once. Prem and Rishi turned back and settled down in the car, Prem brought the window shield down, "Sir, please let us know once you complete the airport formalities before boarding!" Raghav just nodded his head. "Sir, I am heading to office for dropping the files you just handed over and then head to KML hospital to meet Kalpi," he informed, and this statement made Raghav mentally complain about his luck! But all he had this time wished with all his heart is that, things go well with Kalpana and her father is out of danger, "Be with her!" told Raghav and smiled at Prem. Prem was relieved. Prem and Rishi drove off. Raghav stood there and turned, but his steps refused to move ahead, all he could feel is urge to just turn back and run to Kalpana and apologize for everything. How can he move back to his country with this heart of guilt? Along with it intuition told him opposite, as if things aren't right ! and he shouldn't be leaving.

On the other side, Kalpana was looking through the small circular window of ICU to see her father lying unconsciously with mask around his mouth and nose, she felt some hand on her shoulder, and she wiped her tears. She turned back to find old bald man, "Sahil sir?" she asked. "Kalpana, I have heard you had requested some financial help...?" he confirmed. Tears rolled down her cheeks, knowing this would be worse thing, but for his father they did require money, hence she would have to speak to him clearly. "Sahab, doctors have asked for 8 Lakhs right now, and his treatment would anyways require minimum 10 days...!!" she said as clearly as she can. Sahil nodded his head and once again kept his hand on her head, "Maybe, I can help you! Or say I will help you! But I have a condition," he said. Kalpana looked at him in confusion, "Condition?" but a ring on cell phone broke her attention, she looked at Kamla who was just little away, as she looked at phone and got up and leave... Kamla wasn't sure of Kalpi's reaction for now, it is good but condition was bad. She excused herself and left. "Good she left for now, as I said, I will pay all the fees that doctor charges, be it 8 Lakhs or 20 Lakhs, and will also free your father from debt, only if you agree to marry Prem!" Sahil completed and Kalpana widened her eyes in shock, as Sahil continued, "You might be knowing, or be having atleast some idea, that Prem really loves you Kalpana!" Kalpana couldn't believe her ears, "Marry? Prem? Sahab, he is just good friend of mine, I do not have any Love Feeling for him, and after hearing your condition, neither can I ever have it!" Kalpana spoke in her broken voice yet determined to make her point clear. "Well then too bad, if you do not marry Prem, I will sure not show any donation or charity act for no reason!" Sahil spoke with equal clarity in his words, "Let me know about your decision, think with calm mind and decide, I am giving you 1 hour for now, as that's the time, doctor too has given is 1 hour 30 minutes before making the payment!" he completed and left the place.

Exactly when Raghav stood there confused, "What? When did this happen aai?" he heard the panicky voice and he turned back in confusion, to find a man and woman along with little child facing other side. Man was still on call, "Our flights were too delayed, and don't worry we are reaching! And your bahu's company too has provided us with funds along with my organization, everything will be fine just don't worry," he said completed, "Just wait Ayi.. we are coming..." , as he kept the phone down and told his wife, "Baba has been admitted, we need to rush to hospital!" he said. Woman too seemed to be shocked and she started hurrying up with things. Man informed the person there to book a taxi for KML hospital, Raghav was even more reluctant to head inside the airport. "Is this the sign/indication, I too have to leave with them? She too might need me, and my support!" wondered Raghav.

"Raghav... Raghav..." he heard his name being called, "Where have you been lost yaar? Come they will announce our flight soon!" Sammy said calling him. But Raghav just looked at back side of the couple who were loading their luggage in taxi.

He rushed towards them confusing Sammy, "Excuse Me!" he said gaining attention of the couple as they looked there. "Sir?" said Sapna as she looked at Raghav coming towards them, Raghav was slightly happy to see known face there, Pakya came and stood next to Sapna in confusion, "Sapna, I too have to reach KML hospital, since you already have a vehicle..." his words were cut by Pakya's words, "Sir no need for any other permission, let's get in quickly, as my father is not at all well." Sammy looked at them, "Sammy get the luggage in," he ordered, and he smiled, "Ok, as you say!!" Sammy and Pakya loaded their luggage in same taxi, as they all settled down in the car. Sapna took the front seat along with Kittu.

Kamla came to Kalpana, "Beta, what was Sahil Sahab's condition?" she asked curiously. Kalpana looked at Kamla, "Nothing Ayi, not to worry about it... Sahab may help us financially, if he has the amount we require..!!" she said... Kamla looked at her with words, "Kalpana beta, I wanted to tell you..." their conversation was interrupted by presence of nurse, "Suniye (Listen!) You will need these medicines, and please get them quickly," nurse informed. Kalpana got up to leave, when Kamla stopped her, "I will go beta, you be here with baba, your presence will only help him recover, he loves you sooo much na.." Kamla said and tears rushed down Kalpana's cheeks as she desperately prayed looking at idol to show her some way and help baba recover soon. "Where will I get money from?" was another question added to trouble along with health of Vitthal, she went to idol of kept in prayer room of lord Ganesha and bowed her head crying and praying for showing her some way.

Sapna looked at him curiously, "Sir, is everything alright?" Sammy answered it on behalf of Raghav, "Actually there is someone who might need our help!" and Sapna just nodded hoping all to be well, as her own worries for her father in law was at peak she didn't ask anything further. Raghav just wished to reach the place as soon as possible.

Kalpana looked up at idol, and wiped her tears. "I need to save baba, and I will do anything to save him. Even if I have to marry Prem, I will ... I will answer Sahil sahab's condition!" with this dedication in her heart she rose up and turned back, she looked around for Sahil.

Prem just reached the place at almost same time as Raghav's taxi reached. Prem was shocked seeing them there! "Sir?" he called out and Raghav looked at him, feeling of little disappointment but avoided expressing the same. "Sir, your flight? What are you doing here?" Raghav felt annoyance with set of questions, fired, and Pakya informed taxi man to stay around. To add on to shock whole family was here, "Pakya dada and Sapna bhabhi" he said, and Pakya rolled his eyes as he said, "Prem will talk later, my dad isn't well!"

Sahil was near counter as he saw Kalpana approaching him, with dried tears near her eyes and with all strength she had, Sahil got up with smile. He straightened his suit and faced Kalpana. Kalpana came to him, as she started speaking, "I am ready to accept your condition!" she said looking straight into his eyes! Sahil smirked at her words...

"BUT" she continued in a tone louder than before almost echoing gaining attention from several people around too, "BUT I DO NOT NEED YOUR MONEY TO BUY YOUR SON!" she said. Sahil looked at her confused and little anger. "I ASSURE YOU, I WILL EARN AND RETURN EVERY PENNY WITH INTEREST TO YOU! HENCE I WOULD LIKE YOUR SON FOR RENT!" Sahil was stunned at her words. He kept on looking at her as she never left her eye contact while she spoke, " So Mr. Kapoor can I borrow your son in marriage, till you have I pay back all your financial assistance in times of need. I also assure you to divorce him moment, I payback my debt!" Kalpana completed her sentence and waited for his answer looking straight at him. Kalpana stood there straight without bowing her head in helplessness and determined to make her words come true of paying back to Sahil. She once again questioned him, "Would You be lending me your son sahab along with money... or should I say, would you lend some Money sir for marrying your son on temporary basis!"

Prem, Raghav, Sammy, Sapna and Pakya has reached the hall area while rest of the people looked on to the couple, as they too had heard part of conversation.

Precap: Kalpana and Prem's conversation, where Prem is apologizing to Kalpana and telling, now even she would ever consider or think upon marrying Prem, he himself would never be able to do it..!!
