PART 28

Geet instructed everyone about the basic masalas and how to make typical Punjabi food. All were following geet's instructions..their kitchen was open type..not really an kitchen but they were preparing them in wide area in the back yard...

Vihang too joined in helping shilpi's mother while maan sat in corner where no one could see him..but he had his eyes fixed on chasmish... He couldn't miss this chance to gaze her..without any interruption.. Why he was so lost in her..his mind dint knw..But all he knew was his heart was at peace..

Geet took in deep breath after she allocated everyone their work.. she decided to make badam ka halwa..for yuvraj since shilpi's mother wasn't sure of that..

She wrapped her dupatta around her waist and started preparing the halwa in a big vessel..

She smiling started making the halwa... she was happy..here.. she never had been in such a big family.. So she felt contended...

She was oblivious to the fact that her smile made someone else smile too...

His lips adorned a beautiful smile...when she smiled...

" M I dreaming??" shilpa blurted with jaw dropped..

Maan immediately regained his postured...and pressed his lips tight " what?'

Shilpa slumped besides him..and started him wide eyes.. She them checked his forehead...irritating maan..

" wht u doing shilpi.." Maan uttered annoyingly

" are... I thought I was dead and thereafter in heaven tabhi tumhe smile karte hue dekha.. is birth mai aisa chamatkar possible kaise hua??' She raised her brow..

" ah...who...nothing like that ...mai toh bas,...aise..hi..and I wasn't smiling okay.." he responded...looking away..

" jhoot mat bolo maan I saw u similing.. be a man and accpt that ..." Shilpa said pointing her finger at him..

" shilpa.. u..." shilpa's cell rang.. it was yuvraj...

its yuvi..wait ill be back..." She said and scurried outside.. Maan sighed in relief...when she left..

He looked around and found no one.. Since everyone was busy in their work...

His eyes once again descended on geet...and found his bliss..

She was string the halwa... with the rod using both her hands... However she was constantly bothered by her curly hair..which were poking her face...and framing them..

She slanted her head...trying to push them... But the strands were stubborn..and they dint move..

Maan's eyes turned darker...as he gazed his damsel in distress...

He stood up...not removing his eyes off her...

He walked towards her...in trance.. His eyes wer fixed on that stand of her which was troubling her...

As he reached her..from behind.. He gently laid his hands..in her dark drown. Curly hair..

She shivered finding him next to her...soo close.. Her back was touching his chest...and they were dangerously close..

Maan gathered the stands of her hair..and tucked them behind her ear ever so gently..giving her goosebums all over her body...

Her heart fluttered as he touched her... And she dropped her eyes..close...

" MAAAN ARE U DREAMINGGG??" Shilpi screamed at the top of her lungs...making maan startled..

He was shaken out of his trance due to shilpa.. He held his head...and then..blinked his eyes confusingly..

He looked at geet and found her working with her strands still troubling her...

" shilpa...not now.." maan uttered and stood on his feet..

He took a step and then paused.. when he saw vihang approaching geet..

Vihang saw geet irritated with her hair..and he reached behind her and tucked her hair..

Geet smiled at him and mouthed thanks..while vihang smiled and winked at her..

Anger coursed through his veins when he spotted vihang with geeet... His eyes turned red and jaws clenched...

The more she smiled at vihang's jokes... the more maan got infuriated..

Unable to spectate this in front of his eyes...he marched upstairs in his room..in anger..

He banged the dressing table..in anger... recalling geet smiling at vihang..

His clenched his eyes.. " mujhe kyu farak pad raha hai...geet aur vihang k..." His voice trailed..off he couldn't bear to take their name together..

" mujh se toh who dur bhagti rehti hai...meri ek ring..tak phen nai skati and..vihang k sath..." Maan gritted his teeth..

" no..way...I just...ah..." he growled

He took some deep breaths.. " maan its ur fault tune hi use kaha tha to stay away from you...yaad hai " he reminded himself.. " she is just following what u said..."

"okay..its all my fault... but I want things between us normal...who kaise karu" he paced in his room..

At night..

Yuvraj's family had arrived for dinner...and they were seated.. Maan was sitting next to yuvraj.. while geet was next to shilpa..who was next to vihang

The food arrived.. and shilpa rose to serve... But geet volunteered and asked her to be seated..

" beta..aap toh badi soni lag rai ho...aap ho kon aapne phele toh nai vekha yaha" Yuvraj's dadi questioned geet... as she served her..

" ji..woh..mai.." geet adjusted her glasses...

" ji..woh dadaji meri dost hai..bilkul behen jaisi.." shilpa said with big smile on her face...

" achaa.."

After the main course... shilpa's mother served..badam's halwa..to everyone.. Maan was waiting eagerly for the halwa.. Its been long since he ate chamsish's hand made food..

As soon as the bowl of halwa was placed maan pouched on it..

" wowww wwohh yeh mai kya dekh rai hu..."

Shilpa..whispered..amongst.them... " subha the great MSK was smiling...and now he is eating badam ka halwa... bas ab zindiagi mai isse zayda aur kya chayieee..."

This made all giggle while maan rolled his eyes eating the halwa quietly.. and dint miss chasmish's eyes which were on him..

After the dinner yuvi excused maan ...and took him to a corner..

" maan please help me.. shilpa is a little angry on me,..isliyee pura dinner usne ignore kiya mujhe.. kya hum sab ice cream k liye bahar jaa skate hai... u me shilpa..and maybe vihang... .please don't say no...i cant take her alone...u knw..na yeh family..n all.." yuvi requested her..

" okay ...yuvi dont worry " maan nodded..and patted his shoulder

Maan went to shilpa's parents and took their permission.. they allowed them..but asked them not to leave yuvi and shilpa alone..

" mai akeli nai jaungi..i...I will take geet with me..." Shilpa said pulling geet closer...

" mai..kaise,," geet said adjusting her glasses...

" yeh achaa hai yuvi will talk to shilpi and mai aur chasmish..."

" alright..." Maan nodded...and asked them to come out in 10 mins..

Vihang too came out with shilpa and geet..

Maan saw vihang and rolled his eyes " agar vihang aya toh mai chasmish se..kaise bat karunga..."

" u guys sit inside car..." he said to both girls..and stopped vihang..

vihang..woh tum nai aa sakte..." maan said...

" kyu...?"

" who...uncle aur aunty ko kuch kaam tha..he just now called me.." maan lied...

" ohh really...thik hai phir u guys go...ill see u later.."

" I knw u r lying maan..tumhe itna toh janta hu.. .."vihang shook his head n left..

Yuvi droved towards ice cream parlor..

When they reached..yuvi gestured maan.. and he nodded... Shilpa got down and went inside while yuvi followed her..

Geet was about to go...but maan held her hand and pulled her..

" who...unhe akela rehna hai..so.."

geet nodded... her head..lowered her eyes.. Maan shrugged his hands...and put them in his pockets..

" can we tke a walk..." maan suggested

" ji..okay.."

Both started walking,...leaving a little space between them..

Maan was impatient as he wanted to ask her something..

And Geet was nervous...

" ji...sir.." She called him..

" hmmm" he was glad she called him..and initiated the conversation

" who..." geet removed the ring from her finger...and held it out

" I wanted to give u..this but...time hi nai mila...I cant take this.."

" chasmish...listen to me..." Maan held her shoulders and made her face him..

" chasmish i..i..i knw humare beech mai kabhi kyuch thik nai hua.. .But we have to be together... " He had completely forgotten their divorce thing..

• " haa sir until our divorce" she thought

" and this awkwardness I think..we should alteast be normal around each other...so..i was thinking.."

Geet looked at him...in confusion..

" can we be frnds??"

" frnds???" She repeated as if she had heard something else..

Maan nodded..

geet its my best frnds wedding.. I want..it to be memorable..aur..hum frnd sto ban hi sakte hai.." he knew the reason he gave was lame.. But he was certain to bring the a comfort zone between them which will leave no room for awkwardness ..

She was perplexed with his words... Maybe this was because he was happy... Lst 2 days she had seen a different maan.. the one who used to get angry and infuriated at every single thing ... Dint react to any teasing or anything at all..

She mistook the reason ..to be his frnds...while in reality she was the reason... as his whole attention was on her..

" okay..sir..." she smiled and uttered...

" thank u...so much..." Maan sighed and smiled whole heartedly. Again giving her a sweet shock..

" bit sir..yeh ring...i..cant..keep it"

" geet yeh.." he paused.. lurched closer to her... held her chin with the top of his finger making her look at him..

." " yeh mera phele gift samjh k rakh lo...

She blinked back..letting those words sink in her... GIFT???"

As if he read her eyes...he stepped back..and corrected himself.. " I mean,,humari frndship start hui hai toh ek frnd ka dusre k liye gift that's all.."

" lekin frndship toh abhi start hui..aur gift phele kaise??" She questioned..

" chamsishhh" Maan groaned.. and pulled her hand shaking his head... he slipped the ring on her finger once again..

" now not a word..." he warned her..

Geet nodded and looked away..pouting slightly..

Maan smiled looking at the other side..he was glad to see chasmish behaving normally with him...
