Rishi Kapoors advice to son Ranbir Kapoor

Rishi Kapoor further adds, "Ranbir is naturally disappointed by the outcome of Bombay Velvet. But it's okay. He will get over it."

After Box Office disasters like Besharam' and Roy', Ranbir Kapoorhad all his hopes pinned up on the recently released Bombay Velvet' directed by Anurag Kashyap. But the movie proved to be a debacle bigger than his earlier releases.

A little disappointment is natural for an actor like Ranbir Kapoor, who has had gems like Wake Up Sid', Rocket Singh - Salesman Of The Year', Rockstar' and Barfi!' to his credit. And so agrees Ranbir's father and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.

In a report published inBollywoodlife.com, Rishi Kapoor is quoted as saying, "I have only one piece of advice for him, Don't let success go to your head or failure to your heart.' In his brief career so far, he has seen quite a lot of ups and downs. And he's taken it all in his stride."

Rishi Kapoor further adds, "Ranbir is naturally disappointed by the outcome of Bombay Velvet. But it's okay. He will get over it. Setbacks are a part of every actor's career. I am glad it's happening to him now when he has recently started out."

Rishi Kapoor also maintains that nobody doubts Ranbir's ability to perform and that the phase shall too pass. He compares Ranbir's situation with that of his and his father Raj Kapoor's and says, " I also had more than my share of debacles after Bobby. Films like Zehreela Insaan, Zinda Dil Rangeela Ratan and Raja were all flops. Even Khel Khel Mein was only a chota hit. Nothing worked big time until Laila Majnu. I was at my wit's end. We've all gone through it. My father, Ranbir's Dadaji (Raj Kapoor) directed the biggest flop of his career Mera Naam Joker and then he bounced back with Bobby, which incidentally was the film that launched me."

"The same is true of Ranbir. He is going through a process of churning. He will find his bearings," hopes Rishi Kapoor and so do we.
