The actress has finally agreed to star in Sriram Raghavan's film, which is an adaptation of famous author Vikas Swaroop's book, The Accidental Apprentice

Sriram's next film will be based on popular author Vikas Swarup's book, The Accidental Apprentice. The director who had considered Deepika Padukone for the lead role has finally got her confirmation for the same film.A source informs that Deepika has recently confirmed Sriram's next film, which has a strong female character. "The actress, who has been busy with the promotions of her forthcoming Piku, has given her nod to director Sriram Raghavan who had discussed this story with her last year. Deepika wanted to take her time to decide. Finally she recently signed the film particularly as it has a strong female character," said the source. After the release of Piku, Deepika will soon start the shoot of Bajirao Mastani. She will also be seen in Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha. Other than these films, the actress had not signed any projects but was in talks with Sriram who narrated her the story of The Accidental Apprentice. The actress however wanted the director to complete script before she agreed to be part of it. It is believed that Deepika is now keen to start the film as her role is that of a girl who goes from being a shop assistant to the CEO of a business empire."Sriram has finally bought the rights of the popular book of famous writer Vikas Swarup and is working on the script. The film might go on the floors later this year or early next year. The film is going to be an adaptation of the book that has quite an interesting female character," added the sourceWhile Sriram informed us that he has discussed the story with Deepika, he also said, "We have got the rights but no actor has been signed yet. I am still writing the script,"Though Deepika remained unavailable for comment our source confirms that she has already signed on the dotted line.
