NEEDS!

Day 38! - Needful Needy Needs.

Time is running out and the needful list of needs seems to be increasing. Need is an element that is present in everyone's life. Yet what we need...what we crave...what we want varies person to person, time to time and from situation to situation. If you asked Manik Malhotra about his need some nine months ago; he would've answered that his most urgent need was to avenge Nandini Murthy. She had entered his life like a non-forecasted tornado and she was responsible for the crazy ride of emotions he experienced upon her arrival. If you asked Nandini Murthy about her need some nine months ago; she would've answered that she was in need of a legitimate reason to leave this musical college and gain an admission in a college that would focus on her preferred subject of science.

But times have evolved; their feelings towards each other have changed, a new relationship has certainly developed and with this; the needs of these two have incredibly transformed.

The need today is to not walk away but to walk towards each other. The need today is to not fight with but to fight battles for each other. The need today is to not torture but to shield each other from the tortures of others. The need today is to not break but rather heal the broken hearts that may be the doing of others. The need today is to not to hate but to love each other.

For his need is her and her need is him.

"Maniik, I just needed...I just needed..."

Her needs enabled her to perform the unthinkable today. She was in the crucial need of his presence, of his touch of love, of his words of optimism and so she pulled a rather brave stunt and appeared in front of his eyes amidst a quiet and needful night. Her need today was for him to wrap his arms around her and prevent her from shattering into pieces. Her need today was for him to hold her with his sternest grip and prevent her from breaking down due to her inner anxieties. Her need today was for him to ensure that her fears, her consternations, her tensions were all baseless, they held no matter. Her need today was for him to answer her most needful question; "Manik kal kya hoga?"

A challenge that had started on a rather exciting note now stands on an intersection where either a wishful right turn can be taken or a devastating wrong turn can happen. Her need today is for him to ensure that no...we are on the right path and we will be victorious! Her need today is for him to redefine this relationship. Her need today is for him to reiterate the strength of their unconditional trust in each other.

"Do you trust me? Do you trust us? Toh phir bas! Done deal! Problem kya hai phir?"

Her every need was answered by him today. Because these needs of reassurance, these needs of easement, these needs of incitement were just as needful for him as they were for her.

He needed for her to stay positive. He needed for her to keep hoping. He needed for her to sustain her trust in him. He needed for her to continue shining for him. He needed for her to continue praying for him.

She's her strength. Her hope of life. Her motivation to live. He needed for her to keep smiling so he doesn't fall weak. "Toh phir...do what you're good at. Smile!"

He needs for her to bury her fears and let it go today. Let it go for herself. For him. For them. She has taught him the need for him to stay calm, composed and cool when he fears any danger is lurking. When he stands unsure of what the next moment may reveal. And so he needs for her to stay calm so his own panic doesn't overpower him. He needs for her to decimate her apprehensions so they both can coherently focus on their list of endless battles that will be fought for the last time tomorrow.

As he continues to answer her needs, she agrees to fulfil his needs too. He needs for her to undoubtedly credence his words today. To trust his actions. He leaps into the calm swamp of water; only when he's confident that she will soon follow. He needs her to trust his decisions today so he is able to eliminate all tensions, all negativities, all strain-filled pressures that her mind and heart are experiencing due to the uncertainty of tomorrow's morning.

"Aise tera mai...jaise mera tu."

Nandini your needs are not any different from mine. If you need for your hope to triumph at the fusion concert tomorrow, I need for my hope to be victorious so that we never have to experience any exiles ever again. If you need for this essence of loneliness and hollowness to be redeemed, I need my nights to once again be filled with your radiance so no cloud of darkness prevails our love. If you need is to be able to hear and feel my heartbeat every day of our coming lives. My need is to be able to caress your inner soul every night that is still to come for us.

I needed you to trust me with your fear-filled fall into the water and you fulfilled my need. I promise that whenever you will need me to catch you from drowning in uncertainty or indecision, I will pick you up in my arms and we will tread the path together and overcome the ambiguity of every situation in each other's arms. I needed you to smile today and courageously just flow with the situation and let all your fears go and you fulfilled my need. I promise that whenever you will weep a painful tear or your lips will form an unpleasant frown, I will reach out myself and turn that frown upside down to form the smile that is the reason of my own smile. I needed you to blindly and faithfully follow my footsteps today and you fulfilled my need. I promise that whenever the need be that you face an unforeseen situation and you feel as if you don't know how to fight your battles independently, I will teach you how to become independent, confidently believe in yourself; whilst making sure that I stand right behind you like your shadow, ensuring that if your steps stumble, I'm there to catch you.

"What matters is...we both are together. Agar tum saath ho na... I can go through anything." The needs are indeed needful and needy. But as long as they are one heartbeat, one soul...all needs shall be fulfilled. All needs shall be conquered. Because once he has her and she has him; the most needful need has already been contented. The need to be each others'.

Soon the need to return home creeps in and this need cannot be denied or lagged. She needs for her Amms to realise that her Manik is not in fact what he seems. Her Manik needs for her Amms to realise that it will be impossible for him to live for even a single minute if by chance they are unapproved of each other. And so the need to go home is certainly a priority. Nandini tried her level best to voice her and Manik's needs to her Amms today, but they seem to be unable to understand each other because their needs are quite distinct and dissimilar. Her Amms has expressed her dismay today as Nandini hasn't rightfully maintained the responsibilities she needed for her grand-daughter to uphold. And as she left today; she expressed yet another need to not let her down any further. She has left, but left her with the need to re-unite with her grand-daughter; Nandini, once again, sometime in the future.

A son desperately needed his mother's return in his life. But not as a match-maker, not as a secret detective agent, not as a wedding planner. Cabir needed her just as a mother. As his mother. The future of this need seems too vague at this stage to depict whether this need will be fulfilled or not, but a needful hug was embraced today. Some needful words and wishes were also expressed. "Thankyou mom. Thankyou isliye nahi ke aapne nahi bataaya. Thankyou isliye ke aap abhi bhi meri mumma ho."

Today was the day for the lovers to voice their needs. Tomorrow is the day the villain will speech his needs. His needs are quite clear cut and short.

1. The need for his opponent to not disturb his concert.

2. The need for his student to perform without her better half.

3. The need for his shallow intentions to attain victory.

4. The need to win, gain, bind, conquer Nandini as if she's some sort of a prize in exchange of his hard work.

The villain's needs are greedy but the lover needs are needy. Let's see how the needs of two destined lovers, outshine the need of an overconfident devil.

Here I am. Doing this quickly during a break in between classes so my apologies for the poor content I am about to put out.

You my dear are absolutely fabulous. I can't believe you wrote this while you were unwell because this is amazing. I don't how you weave together such beautiful thoughts with a central concept, like how ? Seriously awesome, awesome, awesome. Take a well-deserved bow my sexy, superbly talented chicken.

What is a need ? It's something that is required', it is be something that can be considered a basic human need. How is it different from a want? Want is a desire that will wear off eventually. But need, need is lifelong. A lifelong need for Manik is his shining star, his Nandini. A lifelong need for Nandini is the reason her fireflies glow, her Manik. Manik and Nandini need each other. They need each other, to feel alive. To breathe, literally. I often say, Nandini Murthy is the oxygen that Manik Maltorta breathes and today, I will say that Manik Maltorta is the oxgyen that Nandini needs to breathe. Because never has she done something as implusive and out of her character as showing up at his place so late. They will always need each other. Even when they are fighting, they will want just each other to fight with, to fight for. Manik needs them to be the best of friends, because love is friendship. He needs Nandini to be his best friend so with her, he can be childish, he can playful, he can tease her. That shoulder nudge was MY beautiful moment. Can these two get any cuter ? That little nudge spoke of their comfort with each other, spoke of their constant need to touch, spoke of Manik's need to soothe his Nandini's worries. Manik needs his Nandini to smile because in her true, honest smile he finds his reason for being.

They need to be each other's strength. Nandini needs Manik to be the positive one today, to be the hopeful one because today she has fallen weak. She has taught him how to hope, today she needs him to be teach her how to hopeful despite all the odds against them. Manik needs Nandini to need him because for her, he can be strong. For her, he can accomplish anything, take on any impossible challenge and battle. For her, he can forgo his own fears of tomorrow. Manik has learnt to live in the present, to cherish every second he gets with his Nandini to feel alive, because with her, everything seems perfect. The uncertainty of tomorrow scares him too but he is sure if their love, it will be victorious. It needs to be.

She needs him to catch her today. Today, her confidence wavers, her faith seems a little fragile, today she is scared because they put so much at stake for their day. Nandini needs her Manik to hold her with his unfailing strength, she takes a leap of faith knowing her Manik needs her to, knowing he will always catch her. But this fear, this uncertainty, it won't let her stay afloat. It will weight her down. Manik, he won't let her drown in her fears, in the uncertainty of what tomorrow holds. Manik knows she is unsure how to swim amidst this unpredictability of what their tomorrow may hold. So he needs to be anchor today, he needs to steady her, to hold her afloat until she is strong enough to float aside him as one with their hands joined. Today, she needs to find the peace her Manik gets from staring at his precious stars. And while she gazes above at his stars, he just needs her. He needs to just stare at one shining star that came to the ground just for him. He just needs her. Manik, he needs to take care of his Nandini, even the smallest need of drying her hair. He needs to be the one to do it because he wants to touch her silky soft tresses, and be mesmerized at her beauty. He wants to stare at her to his heart content so he can hold onto the image of her while the night passes.

Need. One needs to be always changing. To evolve is a need. A stagnant personality isn't a strong one, it isn't a developing one. One needs to grow, to discover who they are, who they can become. Nandini has evolved, Manik has pushed her to discover how couragoues she can be, how fierce she can be. No longer is the meek, shy girl who came from Mangalore. Ams's disappointment in her child is a misplaced one, she should have stayed around and seen what a positive change the rich, spoiled bad boy' with a heart of gold has brought to her Nandini. Something tells me we haven't seen the last of Ams.

Need. To belong is a need. To love is a need. A son needs to his mother to accept him for who he is. Cabir wants to come home to his Mama so he can fulfill his need to belong. A mother needs to love her son. Despite what her mind may think, despite her fear of society, her heart still needs her son's love. It still needs the warmth that her son's arms wrapped tightly around her bring to her heart. Maybe the love-filled tight hug had magical healing power, maybe today was the stepping stone for a son and mother to reunite. Just maybe one can hope, because hope, it's all any of us want.

Okies, this is it. Kinda disjointed and not read over even once. Lol. May you be able to understand my incoherent rant. And waiting for that thesaurus still btw. Haha. But for now I got with my two favorite words for your words, absolutely beautiful and utter perfection ( umm, that was four, but you get the point :P)

Oh really? I actually do make a post every day, before it was a part of my thread but now they're separate so maybe that's why.
I really wish I could write humorous posts but I think I'll be horrible at it because it's just not my cup of tea. But let's see.. Maybe one day I can try including humor in my FF and it might work. Will definitely need a lot of practice though, but I will certainly take you up on the suggestion of trying it one day. Thankyou <3

PJ is getting very overconfident and has started to day dream. Can't wait to see his dreams fail and see that smug look on his face disappear!
Ams disappearing in the morning was a shocker! I didn't think she'd leave that quickly especially without seeing PJ's true face. So she leaves with a bad impression of Manik and I can't wait until they actually explore this track properly but I guess we'll have to wait for that.
The conversation between Ams and Nandini was really well done and the note was heartbreaking. To see the words disappointed has knocked Nandini for six and more pressure has been put on her not to fail! Our poor Nandu 😔

Ok let's take a moment to appreciate this pool scene, not going to lie I wasn't expecting this and man it passed my expectations.
Role reversal is just everything, how she ends up at his when normally its him ending up at hers. "I needed.. I needed"
Oh the solace she was seeking, the only person she knew who would hold her when she needs it, who will make her feel herself again. Everyone always wants something from her, building all these expectations on her but with him she knows he'll not ask anything from her but today unknowingly he gave her everything she needed. Parallels are love, just like when he unknowingly needed her when he found out about Cabir or when he reached out to her after Dhruv's outburst. Today Nandini is reaching out to Manik seeking out his solace because he's the only one who can stop her from fully breaking down. They are each other's home ❤️
How he stops her from crying by saying I'll end up crying too because he knows she won't let that happen. Then asks her to do what she does best, smile. The smile that gives him so much happiness, he'll do anything to keep that smile on her face.
"Agar tum saath hona, then we can overcome anything"
So he tells her that even if they don't sing together it doesn't make a difference anymore because he's forgiven her and as long as their together that's all that matters. He asks her if she trust him, them? She says yes and he believes her.
She gazes at his stars. This is the same girl who said she hates stars, wants to crush them and throw them away but now she stands there staring at them, searching what he seeks in them. Her hate for them is replaced by the love he has for them.
And he sees the worry on her face, the world he's always wanted to protect her from is making its way into her life and all he wants to do is protect her from it. He tries to divert her mind, asks her to let it all go. And she does!
As she sinks and drowns it shows how she would be without Manik but he keeps her afloat. He'll always be beside her, he'll let her fight her own battles but the moment he sees that she can't handle it, he will hold her, he will support her.
As they float and look up at the stars he looks at her, he did the same thing on the terrance date. He looks at the stars, what gave him peace and then looks at her, the girl who shines for him, who gives him peace.
I loved the hair drying scene, he's always had a thing for her a hair. Always touching it, playing with it and today he caressed it as he dried it. You see that look in his eyes, he's besotted, in awe of her. She knows it too, their eyes speak their own language. This scene was 😳

Today he told her in not so many words that she is his, that he is hers. That they belong to one another and a concert performance will not change that!

You're indeed right... To love doesn't mean rose petals and smiles.. When in love you have to tread on the thorns too and tears are shed as well...that's what makes it all worth fighting for. Growth is an ongoing process and at every step of life Manan will face a new challenge. They say god only gives us the amount of pain that an individual is capable of tolerating. And these two are ready to even face death for each other. So there may be hurdles, there may be pain, there may be tears but they will always be victorious in their battles and so their love will always continue to grow.
