Everyone thought the movie was too ahead of its time and Yash Chopra was trying to create sympathy for people who get into extra-marital affair.It performed below expecration.Even the box office collection was bad.But now its considered a classic.It has happened with so many movies like lamhe,agneepath,Kagaz ke phool.Do you know that even Sholay was considered a flop in its first week of release.
