In a theater, a play rehearsal is in progress. The director cuts it and shouts at his assistant for not giving the chosen prop (an antique dagger) to the actor. The assistant (Pooja) finds the required dagger in props room. She then moves towards door in hurry but hear a sound from behind and find that a chair is rocking on its own. She stops the chair and again tries to leave. The chair again starts rocking and Pooja sees reflection of a lady sitting on chair in a mirror. She then turns towards chair only to find it empty but still rocking. Scared, she runs out and shouts for help. Others in the theater come running but all of them witness the same ghost of lady in red. She threatens that she will kill everyone as the only she would live in this theater. Scared out of their wits everyone runs and hide in a place leaving unconscious Pooja near ghost.
They meet a person named Jatin and all tell him about the ghost. Jatin asks why they were hiding inside but not left the place. They reply that they tried to leave but the ghost was present at the exit. Jatin doesn't believe on them and accuse them for making up all these stories to incur financial loss. Then he goes to light board and turns on the lights that were switched off intentionally by someone. An old man comes near Jatin saying she is back. Then he asks for his salary claiming to be caretaker of the theater. Jatin asks crew to take the man away. Jatin notices absence of Pooja and everyone starts searching for her. They find dead body of Pooja in a basement below stage.
CID team - ACP sir, Daya, Purvi, Sachin and Nikhil take details from the crew members of play. They all tell the team about ghost. The team doesn't believe on this story and starts investigation. CID team except Daya search props room. ACP sir finds Pooja's file lying there and concludes that Pooja definitely entered in the room. Others return empty handed saying there is no clue of murderer as if she vanished in thin air.
The old caretaker comes back and says that she (ghost) is back because it's 17th January and she will kill everyone. ACP asks him about her. He says she is the lady who died by burning. Jatin tries to convince ACP sir not to pay attention towards old caretaker as he is mad. ACP sir asks Daya to find out if someone really died in the theater.
Purvi notices shadow of a girl running behind them and follows it.
CID team except Purvi searches for clues below the stage where Pooja's body was found. They notice that she died because of a knife wound in the back. They wonder why the ghost killed only Pooja. Team also finds footprints in nearby area.
Purvi reaches at props room while following the shadow. The lights start blinking and the lady ghost comes face to face with Purvi.
ACP sir asks Freddy to bring Purvi but Freddy couldn't find her. ACP sir asks him to search for her again.
Daya receives a call from Abhijeet regarding the death at theater.
ACP sir and remaining team again goes to prop room as it was the last place Pooja went. Nikhil notices blood on a cloth stand. ACP sir muses whether that lady attacked someone else too as the blood was not there when team visited the room at first. While searching the room, Sachin finds unconscious Purvi in a box. Team brings her to consciousness and asks what happened with her. Purvi says she saw the lady who was a ghost according to people in theater. She tried to capture her but the ghost lady attacked her with books in prop room and in that her head collided with cloth stand, and lost her consciousness.
ACP sir gets angry and says there are no ghosts. Someone is doing it intentionally in the name of ghost.
Daya informs that a fire broke out in the theater and it's owner named Monika died in it. Monika's partner couldn't claim the insurance because he was unable to prove that it was accident. As, there was no one in Monika's family, the theater was taken over by government and recently Jatin bought it.
The cast and crew of play is sitting in the theater. They see a ghost coming towards them. The ghost says she knows who killed Pooja and points towards director. He runs to CID team and confesses about the murder and pleads to save him. ACP sir then reveals that this ghost was Shreya and they played this prank to catch the murderer. ACP sir asks the director who was the ghost he used to murder Pooja. The director says he doesn't believe on ghosts but that ghost was real, she wasn't part of his plan. He confesses that when electricity went off, he killed unconscious Pooja. They had an affair and Pooja used to blackmail him threatening to reveal it against director's wife. He says he don't know anything about ghost.
Jatin is worried with this ghost rumor and tries to find it. He finds an anklet but the ghost catches him from above and tries to hang him. He screams and CID team reaches at the place. They save him. Daya sees the lady in red running from the spot and catches her. She says she is Soniya, twin sister of Monika. Jatin was the partner of Monika and killed her in fire. Soniya planned to take revenge and that is why was roaming around as a ghost. CID team arrests Jatin, Soniya and the director and leaves the theater.
The old caretaker comes running and sees everyone left the theater. He questions who will pay him now. Monika's ghost appears and says she will pay him.
