Actor and social media creator Uorfi Javed has criticised influencer Adnaan Shaikh after his recent comments about divorced and widowed women triggered widespread outrage online. Without holding back, Uorfi questioned why people with such views continue to receive a public platform, joining many social media users who condemned his statements.

Reacting to a clip from Adnaan's podcast appearance, Uorfi took to her Instagram Stories and expressed her disappointment. She wrote, "Why are men like these even allowed to talk?" Her sharp response quickly grabbed attention as the debate around Adnaan's remarks continued to gain momentum.

The controversy began after Adnaan appeared on the Aa Dil Ki Baat Karein podcast, where he shared his views on marriage, divorced women, widows and members of the LGBTQ+ community. During the conversation, he argued that society should rethink its attitude towards women whose marriages have ended and questioned why there is resistance to their remarriage.

He said, "Society se main puchna chahta hoon. Humne jo calculate kiya, agar 25 to 30% women agar bach rahi hai, toh shaadi agar koi kare, toh usse tumko dikkat hai? Agar woh public property ban jaye aur usse bohot log use karein, toh kya tumko yeh cheez chalegi? Woh 25 to 30% mein yeh socho tumhari maa ya behen hogi, tum kya chahoge?"

His use of the phrase "public property" while speaking about women drew immediate backlash on social media, with many calling the language disrespectful and offensive. Several users criticised the comparison and questioned the message being conveyed through the podcast discussion.
