I was going to apologize for penning this down so late, but I'm glad I was a late, because this chapter is going to mess with my head for a long, long while. This chapter was one of those, the ones you find in stories where there a massive blow is delivered or consequences of a certain action is acknowledged, basically impactful, very. Its also painful, to see Khushi's dilemma in the first half. They were two people in love, when and if they were married under normal circumstances, they should've been happy. And she knows it - the situation was anything but normal, but nothing seems to sink in to her. I admire how you've used her surroundings, the mehendi, the TV, the floors - all to connote a sickening nausea that somehow would feel like imprisonment to any woman in her place. And Arnav, my heart breaks for this man, because he done nothing but loved her, protected her in the only ways he can. And his character justifies the
contempt we see later in the story, because for the life of him, even though he does understand the borderlines of Khushi's woes - he cannot think of anything more he could do to please her. But alas, what will gnaw my mind for the days to come will be the question, that are external factors always so strong, and the love so weak that so quickly it befell to
contempt, of all emotions.
The part which follows - to be honest I didn't understand what happened. Was it a time- leap, a nightmare, something else? Hence I won't comment on that.
But, a very profound, powerfully written chapter Rae. This story is going to do wonders for the readers and in many ways, for the author in you too :)
