Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar plans two-phase release, first look event heightens anticipation

Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has quietly built strong curiosity, and now there is early word that the film might unfold over two separate releases. While the production house has not issued a confirmation yet, a source has hinted that the Aditya Dhar directorial is structured like a two part story.

According to the report, the first installment is expected to reach cinemas on December 5, 2025. The continuation is planned for 2026, with discussions pointing to an early release window next year. The trailer, which was initially meant to come out last week, will now be unveiled at a large event in Mumbai on November 18.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “There have been reports that Dhurandhar is a two part saga. Hence, the film, which will be released on December 5, will be the first installment. It’ll end at a decisive point and the story will then continue in the second part.”

The insider further added, “It is said that director Aditya Dhar has shot extensively, and the film has shaped up really well. But since it's very lengthy, they have toyed with the idea of breaking it into 2 parts. If this is the plan, then Dhurandhar’s part 2 will arrive next year, preferably in the first half.”

At the moment, the makers have kept quiet on the final structure of the release. Industry watchers believe that the trailer launch may offer some clarity, or at least a hint, about the intended two part rollout.

The Delhi blast last week pushed the trailer launch ahead, leading to its rescheduled date this Tuesday. The event is expected to draw more than two thousand fans, with tight security and a coordinated promotional setup.

Ranveer Singh leads the ensemble cast, joined by Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sar Arjun. With its scale and expectations, Dhurandhar is being closely followed by trade circles, who see the two part strategy as a possible way to handle a large story and maintain momentum into 2026.
