I was talking in relative terms. I don't think there's a BO site with 100% accuracy in India yet - like BO-Mojo. But amongst the "semi reliable ones," I think BOI is the best. They have a proper reporting mechanism and the widest reach worldwide. Plus, they don't have to rely on the producers solely.

When I look at movies and their collections, I don't really care if it's 180 or 190. It could be 173.38575 for all we know, right? But the scale of business can't be doubted, so if a movie does well - it doesn't matter whether BOI reports it at 176 and Taran and Co. report it at 190. At the end, it means the range is from 170 - 190, which - considering the movie - is pretty good.

Like HNY is a success no matter how you flip it. Yeah, sure it didn't cross Kick, but not every movie can become the highest grosser/2nd highest grosser.

Bang Bang is the 2nd most expensive movie of all time. It had a budget of 160+ crores and ended up earning lesser than that, so regardless of it's Hit/Semi Hit status, I'd think the movie is a failure.

and Haider was a deserving film, whereas BangBang would earn 25crs more without the clash .. similarly haider could earn 25 crs more if it would be a solo release..

and about khoobsurat, again with a clash and so less no. of screens whatever it did , it did surpass a YRF film with bigger stars.. so calm down everyone, if you cannot acknowledge the success, atleast do not spread negativity as it wont even affect the films or their actors..

We talk about the reliability of BOI...but can BOI itself vouch for its own numbers and statuses...they can't ...they change it at a drop of hat...then how are they reliable...They changed the final figures of movies like 3 Idiots, Ready, BG...after 3, 4 and even 5 years...even if it was by one crore?? Why would anyone touch the final figure of 3 Idiots after 5 years...why should there be a difference of even one Rupee...forget about lakhs and crores...I agree that may be within 6 months they might still be adjusting numbers...as something might be coming up...but 5 years...seriously...and we are supposed to believe there numbers...Can BOI itself say that Kick will have the figure of 212 cr and a BB status after 5 years...they can't...then how in the world can u call it MORE reliable...

My problem is not with u believing in BOI...or me believing in Taran...my problem is saying that one is more reliable than the other...when there is no evidence of that...instead there is evidence for the opposite...everytime the BOI updates their list...something will change...so ultimately it boils down to ..ur own belief and nothing else...unless we have a govt. regulated authority...every website is the same...IMO.
