Do south indians regularly wear Kanjeevaram Sarees?

Why do they go overboard with the Kanjeevaram Saree talk ...It's not like Tamilians wear Kanjeevaram all the time na? ..I'm a Tam myself ..grew up in the North so I could be wrong but I still haven't seen folks in south india always wear kanjeevaram sarees or make such a big deal about it! ..Every time there is a saree reference there is a "kanjeevaram" word thrown in there! ..

may be may be not it depends on d families. may be budget issues but d kanchivaram saree they r showing is fake n even d cloth quality is also not avg n as usual ishita wardrobe n hairstyling n makeup ve to be taken care,they r not nice. its better they don't highlight it much lol.

Being a southie myself, I believe they do love wearing silk saris, but mainly for occasions..But its not a norm..Ppl wear all types of saris nowadays..

not always .they are very heavy to wear . depending on the type of the party people wear different varieties

like chiffons,nets,crepe,georgette or even salwars .nowdays lehenga types .

yhm cvs take creative liberties to potray scenes which create drama

I am Telugu too. My mom and aunts used to wear Kanjeevaram sarees for weddings. Now a days they are wearing all defferent types of sarees like Gadwall, Benaral, light weight Pattu, Uppada sarees , work sarees etc.. with designer blouses. Looks like CVs only know about Kanjivaram sarees.
