Rehaan loves who really?

So recently I visited this forum and I was bowled over by the Rehaan bashing and hatred. So far, all I had from my sister who watches this show is that he is a good guy. The curiosity got the better of me and I decided to watch some scenes on YouTube and I noticed: Rehaan NEVER fell for Sanam. What he felt was pity or more appropriately sympathy love. Sanam was all alone..almost..being treated like crap and Rehaan being a lonely guy, convinced himself that he was in love with her and he can give her a better life. He didn't know her like Aahil does. He didn't love her fire or her qualities or her quirks. She didn't make him laugh or cry. He felt bad when she was in trouble but he never felt the wrenching pain that Aahil did for her. He didn't save her when she was in trouble. Most of the time he didn't even have an inkling she was in trouble, unlike Aahil. His jealousy spoke volume. It was tame at best and I love the writers for showing the difference. Jealousy speaks for the intensity of love a person has for the other. When Sanam married Aahil, he wasn't depressed but just lost. He was alone all over again.

And then enters Sunehri. He may have helped her first because she looks like Sanam. But slowly she started making him laugh. He liked her style, her behavior(World apart from Sanam), her honesty (LOL, well he thought she was). She stopped reminding of Sanam and he started seeing her a a new entity. He doesn't see the face and immediately thinks of Sanam. He thinks about Sunehri. Hence the Friday scene. His subconscious had to remind him that it wasn't Sunehri but Sanam he was looking at. She dominates his thought process. He didn't cry for Sanam, the way he cried for Sunehri. And no, he didn't fall for her in a week. It was implied that it took almost 3-4 weeks if not months. They didn't show all the days of course and hence the confusion. If you noticed..he even commented that some days he cannot even imagine going a day without her.

When you love a person, you don't love them for a single thing. You don't love them just because they are lonely or nice or kind. You love them for the whole package. Rehaan doesn't know Sanam AT ALL and Sanam doesn't know him either. But Sunehri cares about Rehaan. He never had anyone care for him like that before. Even when she wasn't in love with him, she cared when he was hurt. She cared when he was unhappy. He loves her for her not just her face. He would have loved her if she didn't look like Sanam, this I am 100% sure of. Yes he feels betrayed right now but I wouldn't be surprised if he forgives her soon and hies off to the temple to meet her, because he knows she visits it every Tuesday. I kind of imagine Seher in a pickle regarding playing Sanam at the house. Imagine she has to host something at the house but she also has to be on a date with Rehaan at the same time. That would be funny.

I do imagine that Rehaan thinking he loved Sanam at some point will be a major twist in SeHaan lovestory in the future. I do believe that he deserves a good life too. Just because his one parent is devils reincarnate doesn't mean he has to suffer for her deeds. Yes he should come out and tell everyone about blindy but really this is an Indian show. Do you really expect logic? Is anyone that naive? He was an orphan..for quite some years he did think of himself like that and then suddenly he had a mom and a brother. He feels beholden to her and hence he isn't dissing her out. He has no problem wanting to leave her forever. Only his loyalty is stopping him.

Hmm..well to each his own. I don't believe in hating someone for their parents deeds. Do you hate all Britishers too? They enslaved us for centuries.

Avoiding how? There's a parallel here. If you hate Rehaan because of Billi then you must hate all Britishers too. I'm trying to understand your thought process and hence the question.

I completely agree about rehans pov towards sanam's soft corner. She was friendly with him & since was lonely he cared for her. Thought he loved her. But all of a sudden when sahil nikkah happened b4 Rehan could propose sanam he was totally broken. He was frustrated when his own ammi payed a way for sanam getting married to ahil. This is the point I could say Rehan was really not in love with sanam. He very well knew sanam did contract marriage for money, if he really loved her he would have stood for sanam. Instead he agreed to tanveer to wait till contract dissolves. Slowly when he realised sanam never loved him instead she loves ahil he decided to move on in his life. There enters seher. Seher brought out different shades inside rehans character. We saw Rehan getting angry, shouting at someone, ordering someone, joking, passing sarcastic comments, we never thought Rehan could fight like a hero with street goondos. He started falling for seher from his bday. She made him feel happy, feel so special. That effort was genuine from seher's side. Cvs could have actually continued developing his character but shishupals & rosy's entry they stopped about his characterisation & just rushed a bit about Sehan because they wanted a swap in store. Rehans character has so much potential but unfortunately cvs are not interested in developing some intensity in his character. They just keep on showing his crying over his bad fate & lost in love. So much injustice to his character. Coming to Rehan feeling seher's presence by seeing sanam ( seher) in house, let me tell he didn't have that feel in party when he saw sanam in party. But in house he had that feel because it was seher in sanam's place. Deep down in his heart he could recognise seher but logically he knows that's not possible. So seher's shadow reminded him it's sanam.

thank you dear you made this post i m sick n tired of this bashing i completely agree his love for sanam was an illusion but his love for seher is true he fell for her for what she is her antics she made him smile she cared for him n what do ppl expect from him tgat he should go n kill her mom a mother always cares for her child even if he/she has committed a mistake in the same way he was also tending her mother he craves for mother's love n is it's so easy that he will just go n tell ahil that the women u worship is a betrayer n i m her illegitimate son n ahil will believe him so easily whatever!!! all ppl are after rehan cus they are sahil fans n can't see sj with anyone else than kvb(yup i m very straightforward n i know this is the truth cus their comments tell it all) i m a diehard asya fan that doesn't mean that i can't see sj with anyone else than ksg this is entertainment industry n an actor is not bound to b only paired with a specific co-actor)

I don't think he loved Sanam if ever. Like I explained he felt sorry for her and felt he could give her a better life. That's about it and yes, I do think that he felt Seher when she was walking away and that connection will be necessary to pull them together when the truth of Billi killing AsYa comes out.

I have noticed that little problem. Fans will be fans but this is SJ's JOB. She can't limit herself to just one co-actor no matter the fan following. The story takes predence, always.

No one with relationships can expect Rehaan to ousted his mom. He doesn't know how evil she is. He thinks she is just greedy and she is smart enough to coat her greed with wanting the best for him. She doesn't give a damn for him. He's just an excuse to get the property to her. One should always walk in the other shoe before judging someone. There are so many cases where people hide the truth to save their loved ones. Rehaan is human, just like everyone else.
