So SC ended?! NO. Like its source, the creative energy that evolved in its initial phase shall live in indelible impressions it etched on its viewers. The providers being talents of such caliber; Conceiver- SLB, Director- AB, Creative writers; UN and Saba Mumtaz (?) and of course 'The Conduit' of all this creativity- GR and JW. ...Add again, fortuitous presence of exceptional sense of topical music- SLB. And then, GMT's saga has to come alive once again to tug the senses of its recipients. It does not matter whether it scaled the commercial pinnacles. It delivered sincere creativity- 'affecting us'- as Ivy would say- and that's what counts- IMO... Of course, all these pertain to about first 50 episodes in particular and sporadic flashes there after- until Sindur Shower witnessed by Manchatur. After which it went so downhill, I was forced to abandon the watch. So I don't know anything nor I can pass any comment on the phase thereafter...

Though i had consciously kept away from the SC forum (for the fear of CB's commanding power that was keeping me trucked to a sorry watch of a show- that once 'was'), i had been somewhat active in another unexpected corner of IF! I was busy defragging myths and fake glory of a false hero in a presumptuous projection of our Epic. The distorted adaption of which would have pushed even that fake hero into an embarrassing silence. But not the glazed fans! And thus earning their wrath!
A news item on our folding soaps filled me in about SC's end and here I am. Bear with me for once.😊

smrth!!!!
Good to see you!!

I had stopped watching too...but kept in touch thru CB.
Wish Ivy logs in once...the Fellowship would then indeed be complete. All the old gang is accounted for and have marked there presence in this thread.. 😊

You would be happy (commented seperately in my post on this last CB), you got your wish...both got married and sone pe suhage also started a family!

SC from the source did eventually get redeemed in the show!

The CVs screwed it up again as usual...they delivered a premie at 7 months and the baby looked normal sized and they did not put it in the incubator or NICU...they were holding it around as if it was normal and ppl passing it around types...but that's a small quibble...

Yes, Hgg. I had the same thought...

Would complete the picture of CB in its heyday if Ivy were to drop by! 😊

Sir ji!! Great to hear from you. And again you are spot on.😊 To own up, on leaving SC forum I missed on fascinating conversations you two were affording us. Ivy's exquisite articulation and you with your customary razor sharp analysis- always put in neat and comprehensive forms. And both of you, always insightful!

@ bold,
HGG, am I happy? Not sure. I attempted last episode. What did see? A Commonplace, belaboured sweetness that left a bland taste at best and a mild irritation at worst. Later, for a complete disconnect with anything that was original (or promised) and everything that's alien to the source (or promised). So ironically, despite being a staunch opponent of the source end, I did not like this ending either. The disagreement is not to the union (and final seal), it is with the execution.(..was constantly apprehensive, lest they may belt out O Piya...any moment in this alien set up, sullying it's treasured memory. Thank god for a small mercy, it didn't)

As for 'my wish', it's rooted in legitimate expectation and protest to an inherent dishonesty in the source End. There are reasons to believe that end might have been altered from its intended course, for there is a direct mention to that effect (the other course) in word of GMT himself. More indicting, that mention, as documented in GMT's scrapbook, was as early as the end of first part- about 14 years before the appearance of last part along with It's unfortunate end. Previously he has admitted, he already envisaged 'the End' based on 92nd Stanza of Meghdoot, his original inspiration! But he changed it! (I had read this astonishing information in an article on SC by no less than Great Umashankar Joshi). But of course I am digressing. The current parody has nothing to do with our inheritance that's SC...

Smrth, since you missed all the interim episodes, by our joy with the last episodes, you can understand how painful they were.

While no patch on the original episodes, the last week was actually a huge improvement and therefore a joy to watch and this gave a suitable ending to the show.

Smrth, so happy to see you here. While Hgg is Eid ka chand, you had become mercury ka chand !

I am glad that what we started together, we are all ending it together too, and all of you have seen the last episode and posted on the Alvida bytes.

As for the end being close to the source, the show itself is not close to the source.

Somewhere down the line we too accepted that it was not GMTs SC. But we had Gautam and Jen and those occasional magical moments that we stuck around for .

So the fact that the show ended on a happy note with the joy of parenthood further binding them closer is actually enough for now!

You are right. Long since- as early as Guman Tandav, we have accepted this as a different story. And still, 'Puritan'- (a paradox, for one clamouring change of End!)- habits die hard, hence this bickering. To an extent, miffed at abusive exploitation of a revered heritage even in namesake. So please tolerate.😳
As for the Mercury and moon, please assign me Phobos! For Mercury is reserved for Hg and Indian flavour of the week is Mars...Right Ma'm Venus! 😛 But then in your kindness, perhaps you might not want me to Represent 'horror'!😆

Commenting on your post after a long long time. Was watching some of the early episodes of SC this week- such masterpieces they were!! . Some of the scenes -even of the Pramad days tug at your heart! The last few episodes have focussed on Saras -Kumud and it has been a treat to watch. !!

I have said this earlier and I say it again -as many many others have felt too...this journey of SC has been made more memorable by your awesome bytes. !! Whether the episodes have been worth watching or not, your bytes have always been such a delight!
Thank you for making my short journey with SC so wonderful! 🤗

GR is upbeat about MK! Looking forward to the show and meeting you and all GR fans there ! Until then ! ...😊

Sudha, 🤗, lovely to see you here again for the final swan song! We have all been touched by the beauty of the early days of this show, by Saras and Kumud and their wonderful romance

Let us hope MK also captivates us in the same way!

Sorry for replying so late in this forum but it is never tooo late 😃 . Though we say goodbye to Saraswatichandra but not saying adieu to you all. I joined this forum late but was very active in FB. I promise to be active in Mahakumbh from day one. Hope MK is as gripping and addictive as SC.
