Asr is not fictional...he is a dream, an embodiment of our heart and soul, the outpouring of what we feel but cannot touch...the longing which makes us alive in the humdrum of real life! Thanks Horizon this is one birthday that needs to be celebrated...hamesha!

Happy Birthday ASR!🥳 I love you because I love me...😳

thanks a ton my friend for reading and commenting in spite of your very busy ad...
he is indeed a dream, paradoxically... that perfect human being, that utterly faith adhering atheist in his actions...
If everyone would live and let live.. world would be a much better place..
again paradoxically we are compelled to take examples from this supposedly flawed man??!!

Just read your 269. Not daring to quote it, cause I already made you guys tired talking about my messed up computer. waiting for my lappy to come back from the repair shop.

Let's come to your take.
the episode was not certainly interesting. So I can understand your frustration. Or moreover the man was not there. so it was inevitable to feel the void. But NK 's entry sure brought a smile on my face. He is such a guy who gives you a positive vibe. Khushi liked his company a lot. But she was just woebegone without Arnav, that's why she didn't reciprocate NK cordially, what I found quite natural.

Akash and Payal's scene was bad for sure. Why suddenly during Arnav's absence, the office party increased so much. I can understand Payal's situation. She is a small town girl and not so smart like Khushi. She couldn't decide how to behave or how to dress in a party like this. I wonder rather taking suggestions from bua, why she didn't ask her sister. Khushi is a very smart girl. Remember how she overtook Arnav's cocktail party! In this case rich people's wife usually go to a stylist or a designer. But here in IPK the rich Raizadas lead a very ordinary life style.
Not payal, but the obnoxious guests of the party baffled me. No classy or sophisticated people behave like this. That was a complete exaggeration.

"This is MY house" he roared as his boundless rage got better off him yet again. How hurtful could such alienation be to anyone? But even before the sound of those four words reached anyone else' ears, their acerbity had hit his brain already. He instantly regretted the caustic words slipped. He just didn't mean them.. not certainly to the woman they were directed at as the only one whom he could call "my" when life left them in a sea of severance. But the damage is already done. Anjali is upset that in spite of all her efforts to bring some peace into her maternal home, all she got in return was her acutely riled up brother. and, she is no less stubborn than him!

Neither anjali not asr are perfect as human beings. But they were each other's support when everything else around collapsed. In their sibling relationship, the younger
brother almost played a father's role in providing and protecting for his sister. Anjali's her motherly presence and her almost denialisitic coolness were the much needed calming factors for him. They were each other's strength and solace.
When he realizes his mistake, asr wouldn't leave any stone unturned to make up for it. He had set out to pacify his hurt sister, khushi tagging along with naniji's insistence. When he finally found his sister, he regrets his brazen insolence which is otherwise apt for the manipulative world, but NOT to his considerate sister. His wise and warm sister didn't deserve his indignation he. He would plead, cajole and convince her. The ziddi brother and sister at last make up and gear up to celebrate rakhsha bandhan. The girl who is at the epicenter of this brother- sister altercation looks on rather perplexed.. amazed, as for the first time she gets a glimpse of the shrouded comforting warmth under his blazing hot exterior. A golden chapter turned in this master piece.
...Rakhsha bandhan always brought extra special things in the love story of asr- khushi..

I watched 272 - 273 and have been meaning to mention a few moments that stood out for me.
Khushi finally reconciles with devi maiyaa. Indu had wondered if she did officially patch up the day she was talking to Shivji and we got the answer now. That she had stopped talking to her after the hate marriage was a lovely character trait. Her devi maiyaa was her friend, confidant and being angry with her would be natural. She was not merely a revered goddess to turn to in times of need and pray to on marked occasions, instead Khushi had always treated her as someone closest to herself. So when she was heartbroken, to demand her DM to be guilty about the heartache that Khushi was going through, was very genuine.

And at this point in the show when she finally spoke to her it was to bring back the very man with whom when she was forced to marry she had decided to not talk to her DM. Also to me that solidifies the fact that his well being and return are paramount. Having him back safe and sound is what is Khushi's entire focus is now. In fact, without him breathing may soon be impossible too.

Though am not a fan of Sanaya's consistently forlorn phase I still love seeing her madly in love with Arnavji. The memory of the priceless few moments of respite that they shared together.. holding on to each other, perhaps not wanting to let go ever.. and the way he looked at her.. like she was all he could ever desire.. the way his look must have made her feel.. even the slightest glimpse of these memories, that she holds dear, make me happy. She understands how he felt that night, she did too. She misses him. She misses the man who loves her and whom she loves to distraction. Yes am happy.. she is in love.

The ploy of devi maiyya showing her the correct path was too cliche for me. Still there was one moment when she was Shyam's room and the phone rang when I literally held onto my breath. Shyam moved towards the room, Khushi did not hide, but chose to run out. I was certain that she would not be caught. Imagine my astonishment that yet again the villain caught the heroine and almost figured out that she was suspicious of him. She did handle the awkward encounter quite resourcefully this time. He was quite rude to her which has become his habit it seems these days. Again I wonder where is the man who actually liked Khushiji, even if he only lusted after her. One theory I have is that perhaps he realizes that she has no feelings for him and so no longer even tries.

Finally I liked how there was a stress on NK also not easily believing Khushi. He was genuinely trying to calm her down and hear her out yet he felt however well intentioned she could not possibly be right. Goes to show how devious Shyam had been in the past few years. ASR, naniji, NK..everyone was completely hoodwinked by the soft spoken man who treated the daughter of the house like a princess. It did not seem to matter that he had nowhere to take her, except for initial days when mami cracked a few jokes at his expense no one minded his unexplained random disappearances. As long as he brought back sweet words with him and their daughter was happy with him everyone thought the world of him. I did like NK having a tough time believing ill of his jeejaji. Seeing NKs reaction I connect it to everyone's reaction when the truth comes out.

NK is quite gullible and if he had a tough time believing Khushi whom he really genuinely likes and who was trying to give him details and proof, then later when ASR threw Shyam out there was hardly anything explained to the family. Obviously there would be confusion.

I Felt bad that Aakhash wasn't involved. I was watching the old scene where Aakash and NK plot how to visit Payal on new year and ASR sits close by with his laptop. That was such a fun scene. There could have been potential to bring back some of that refreshing craziness if Aakash, NK, mamiji, Khushi all helped out.

This is too long.. Well.. most importantly and perhaps the main thought was I missed the man very much.

Rhea, coincidence much?! I was also watching those episodes from NK's entry to new year's eve. What fun! The green eyed monster makes an entry. That irritation with NK and a dithering Aakash! Remember Ipoona's takes on these episodes. Had been in splits. She had also written about the choreographer lady (Madhutaala, Madhushaala, Madhubala, Madhu...) nursing a crush on the hotistuff bitwa, thought that was hilarious!
Yesterday on the re run she gets her hand on the bill with laad governor written on it. Have not been able to stomach the whole shyam-khushi scenario. Can take a bit of non logic, but this complete absence?!!! There's a saying in my language:"When it comes to stories, don't ask questions"! Guess that applies here.
Indu, loved that write up on Raksha Bandhan. That absolute devotion to his Di. La couldn't stomach it I feel at times. But she understood, she who would do any thing for her jiji, not of her blood, but of her heart. Ha, so many things to ponder still.

I came here to respond to rhea. Good to see your comments too Kizh.
NK's entry, the New year episodes and those followed that entire month were the highest point in the entire story. It would be perhaps ironic to expect that quality in the current track. It never really looked that asr was jealous or insecure of NK but only highly irritated at his cartoonish cousin. Yes Kizh I remember Ipoona's torrential nincompoop writings for those episodes. I miss my dear friend's takes.
The whole Khushi- Shyam thing was an extreme bitter pill to swallow. But they needed to fill up 2 months with this track. Not an easy task. They could have certainly injected some logic easily and made it passable.. and they didn't make that effort. IPK always suffered becos of lack of good parallel tracks. If the leads are not there, there is absolutely nothing to watch. But that's what made it a master piece too perhaps without any associated clichd family melodramatics.
Coming to the story, Agree with you rhea..Khushi's patching up with DM was touching as she needed either him or DM by her side always. Those blood stains didn't do much but for me to brag about my blood group and personality theory more..:)
Abhas failed miserably to be a criminal villain as opposed to the initial unhappy married man. His forced face contortions were an eye soar, another reason why this track didn't work. They could have kept him subtle yet a perverted villain ogling his saale saab's wife. but decided to play loud drama.. and that didn't quite gel either with the actor's histrionics or with the viewers.
and you are right NK's disbelief indeed reflected how hard it would be to the Raizada family to accept this man's true face. But there also there could be a gradual progression of revelation for every one.
ASR's role in the whole Shyam ouster was kept a low key both the times.. why?? True, he slapped and threw him out but only becos he believed Khushi's words. While I imbibed the beauty of his love confession without any proofs, there was NO need for this one. He was held captive and made to sulk in a den for 2 months, he even fought the so called BOSS.. yet he couldn't recognize who he was?? Silly much. He could have known it was his jijaji, then during the court room scene he could have connected dots about Khushi's engagement, got the entire picture in the head.. then threw him out.. could have closed so many loops..
Even for Anjali it could have been a slow revelation. Mamiji would even tell her hearing about divorcing Anjali..
I meant, it doesn't need to be as drastic a revelation for the rest of family as it was for NK as the hints for them are every where to see his true face.
Post Holi, there was loss of interest from the important players and it reflected on screen. But there were gems scattered here and there reminding why I fell in love..
Oh yes waiting for him to come back.. but had to cross some blood bath before that.. not sure if I am ready for it..
Sorry, talked too much...understandable frustration rhea..

Kizh, sorry in my rush to rant missed to thank you ..thank you for liking that raksha bandhan post.

La supposedly is brought up some where else and will have the cultural barrier. But from where she started, she revamped herself quite much to suit to the raizadas... wonder why...
And that she, yes not a blood related sister, truly soul sisters, she strived to do the best for her jiji. So is the love she received from her babuji and payal, they never showed any dearth. But Khushi was always lonely at heart. That gratitude towards Guptas just wouldn't leave her. Wondered many times how payal would have reacted, the initial gutsy, mature, sensible one, had she known her little sister sacrificed and agreed to marry to save her wedding to akash??
Instead of forcing Shyam- Khushi on us, imparting some brain to Anjali and payal would have done a great favor to the story.

Indu, couldn't agree with you more. From where to where.
And I do miss reading Ipoona's takes! And these episodes from Nk's arrival, she was at her hilarious best! She called NK a Tasmanian devil, I think 😆
And Mr. was jealous, he did tell khushi during that Sheetal track that he used to feel J seeing Nk with her!
