Part 4

The romantic fragrance and the aroma of the candles filled his senses as he entered. He hadn't asked for this and any other day, he would have blasted Mihir for this but today, he smiled mischievously as he explored the room and studied the preparations that Mihir had done for him and Ishita. He mentally thanked Mihir's thoughtfulness as he settled on the couch waiting for her, "ab yeh jhansi ki rani kahaan reh gayi?"

He sighed in impatience as his eyes darted to the door...

After what looked like eternity, the door creaked open and she came in. She had checked the kids and put them to sleep before coming back. Raman had almost left hope of her return and dozed off on the couch.

Ishita tip toed slowly cautious not to wake him up. Little did she know about how sharp Raman Kumar Bhalla could get. Just as she walked up to her luggage, she felt his eyes throwing daggers behind her. She sighed deeply at her vain attempt not to disturb him.

"Sorry...I disturbed you Raman"

She said as she turned towards him. His stare only grew more glaring and he stepped closer voicing, "ussme naya kya hai...woh toh humesha karthi ho..."

She shrugged as whatever' and turned back to her suitcase to pull out the night dress. She muttered to herself, "aiyoo murugan...Raavan kumar ka mood itna kyun kharaab hai?"

She pulled out her kurta pyjamah and started walking to the washroom. His eyes were fixed on her and he wondered if she was posing ignorance or had she forgotten her promise.

Ignoring his presence, she went to change. He was determined not to leave her like that.

"pehle khud aise promises karthi hai aur ab madam ignores me...aane dho usse...usse toh bhi patha chale ke Raman Kumar Bhalla kya cheez hai"

He paced the room to and fro waiting for her to come out. The moment she stepped out, he tried to remind her of her promise, "Ishita woh...car mein..."

His words trailed off feeling a little awkward to tell it directly. How could he openly tell Jhansi ki rani that he wanted a kiss from her? So he opted for an indirect option. As she folded her salwar, he spoke up, "tum kuch bhool toh nahi gayi?"

Ishita looked enquiringly, "main?? Kya?? sab kuch toh kiya...I checked if Ruhi had food...usse sulaaya aur phir hi chali aayi..."

She thinks more deeply and says, "nahi kuch nahi bhooli..."

He had the anger of smacking her then and there. In frustration, he ran his fingers on his hair and thought to himself, "isske sarr pe kuch giraa toh nahi...bechaari ki yaadaash chali gayi!"

"kya?" she gestured to him and he smiled mocking her and questioned, "Ruhi ko good night kiss diya?"

That was his attempt to make her remember their kiss waala talk and her promise. But madam nodded casually, "haan...Shravu ko bhi diya...How will I forget that?"

He stamped his leg on the floor and gestured that he was better off banging his head on the wall rather than giving her hints. She looked amused at his funny antics, "aap teek toh hai na Raman?"

She placed her hand on his shoulders to check if he was fine. He didn't want to miss that chance. He grabbed her fingers and spoke out in a breath, "Ruhi aur Shravan ko deh diya...aur mera kiss?? Usska kya?"

She looked at him wide eyes and mouth open in shock. "Kiss? Aur aap ko? Kuch bhi haan?"

Now he was stunned to hear her backing out of what she promised. Not just that, she seemed to have conveniently forgotten all about their intimate encounter and romantic talk in the car.

He kept his grip intact and replied sarcastically, "haan...kiss...tumhe kuch yaad nahi, huh?"

She shrugged away his hold instantly and backed away when he added with a naughty grin, "you promised..."

She shook her head opposing, "nahi nahi...aap ko zaroor kuch galat faymi hui hai...I was talking about Ruhi's good night kiss..."

By then, she walked to the door and amidst his irritated looks and smacking, she giggled and stepped out of the room after saying, "lagta hai aapne kuch galat khaa liya ya shaayad you are drunk Raman...I will come back after you are normal"

She quickly sprinted away laughing. She was enjoying this naughty drama and Raman's face and expressions were worth a million. Angry, frustrated and fuming Raman took out his phone to call someone.

A little later...Romi was just passing by when he heard voices from Raman's room. He didn't want to eavesdrop but the conversation appeared interesting and he was tempted

"bohat din se kehna chahta tha...aaj kehke hi rehunga...I...I love you..."

That was his bhai's voice. He was happy that Raman and Ishita were finally behaving like normal married couple. He was about to leave the place when he heard Mihir's voice too. Romi was indeed shocked beyond words. He looked through the key hole to confirm Mihir's presence. What he saw shocked Romi further. Raman was holding Mihir's hands and looking into his eyes.

Romi fell down on the floor by the jhatka he got. "yeh bhai kya kar rahe hai...Mihir ke saath??? Bhabi..."

He was very worried for his bhabhi and went in search of her. He saw her stepping out of Mihika's room and ran to her. Ishita was baffled by ROmi's urgency to talk to her. Taking her to a isolated corner of the corridor, he spoke up, "Bhabhi, ab aap hi kuch karo...aapke aur bhai ke beech mein bolna sahi nahi parr phir bhi mujhse raha na gaya..."

Ishita couldn't believe what she heard from Romi. Initially she teased and mocked it away checking if Romi had fever, "kuch bhi bhakwaas haan Romi??...tum aise kaise soch sakte ho??...jaao...jaake so jaao...I am sure neend mein kuch sapna dekha tumne...din barr kuch na kuch ulta pulta sochte rehete ho na? isiliye ajeeb ajeeb sapna aatha hai tumhe..."

Romi didn't know how to make her believe but he just said, "aap kuch bhi soch lo bhabhi, maine wahi kaha jo maine dekha...aur ab aap pe depend kartha hai ke aap kaise bhai ko uss Mihir ke pyar se baahar nikaalenge..."

Romi walked away leaving behind a totally baffed Ishita. She crunched her face, "yeh Romi kya bhakwaas keh raha hai? Raman aur Mihir?? Nahi nahi...aise kaise??"

She rubbished it in one part of her mind and walked back to the room when she saw Mihir smiling shyly to himself and walking out of Raman's room.
