It's Confirmed Alia n Ranbir in Ayan's Mv; KJo locked 2 dates in 2016

Here's a scoop to cheer you up. Alia Bhatt, who's grown as an actress in leaps and bounds, is now set to be Ranbir Kapoor's heroine.

Alia will pair with Ranbir in director Ayan Mukerji's next film that is yet untitled. The rumour of the two actors pairing up has been doing the rounds for days, but an official confirmation has now come from Karan Johar, producer of the project.

Karan Johar tweeted, "AYAN MUKERJI's next for Dharma productions is slated to begin mid next year and release December 23rd, 2016. RANBIR KAPOOR and ALIA BHATT..."


This is Ranbir Kapoor's third film in a row with his best friend Ayan Mukerji. Alia, however, will be teaming up with both Ranbir and Ayan for the first time.

Last seen in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Alia Bhatt has scored a hit in every film she's starred in so far.

It's also interesting to note that Karan Johar has locked both Diwali 2016 and Christmas 2016 for Dharma Productions releases. While Christmas will see the release of the Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer, Diwali will see Shhuddhi hitting the theatres.

It's official. KJO's current blue eyed girl Alia Bhatt will now be seen romancing her idol and favourite Bollywood actor, Ranbir Kapoor onscreen. The film will be produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and will be directed by Ranbir's buddy Ayan Mukerji.


The film will go in floors in mid next year and release in December 2016.

It's no secret that Alia has admired Ranbir as an actor for long. Ranbir was even seen giving Alia some valuable tips during Highway where Imtiaz Ali had arranged an audience for Alia with the upcoming superstar of Bollywood. In a recent interview with us just before the release of Humpty Sharma..., Alia had told us how she was eager to act opposite Ranbir. Looks like KJO finally made her dream come true.


With Ayan helming this yet untitled project, we are sure some more jawani and deewani will be churned out this time around as well. And the brand new jodi of Ranbir and Alia we feel will absolutely rock. After all, the Bhatts and the Kapoors have never really collaborated much in past. Also the Christmas release is sure to set the cash registers ringing. What say folks!
