Why shy away from glamorous roles?
I don't like to wear a lot of make-up or blow-dry my hair. If you get too caught up with the superficial part of beauty, you get too self-conscious. I am promoting a different kind of message to people, so I'd like to keep it realistic.

I don't know what she means by realistic. She has done fabulous work in ZGH, Daam, talkhiyan. But she has also done Shuk. And if that story is anything remotely close to reality, or if that is the message she wants to give, she needs to do a re-think on her work.

And its seems she is open to Bollywood. I'm sure there will be loads of offers going her way.

Her Role in Shakk ws positive , She ws not the one who break Ayesha-Adeel *I forgot their Chracter names* , It ws 'DisTrust/Shak' which breaks their marriage !

It ws also a nice show with nice story with the msg tht *Trust ur Partner,Show Believe in ur partner ! otherwise ur house ll be broken*

Ermm!! She also done a role in Kadurat ! tht ws sumhow far frm reality !!But I really liked her in Shak

I don't like her statement about indian shows. It shows so much superiority complex in her. Sorry to say that but they should focus on promoting their shows rather than doing comparisons like this way. It makes no sense. Their shows are also not flawless.

She is not completely wrong.I guess he is talking about Ekta Kapoor shows of early 2000 and they were a bit unrealistic. If you watch those shows now you will also feel its far away from from reality. And when she is working on serials dealing with mature stories she is bound to find it unrealistic.
Don't take her comments as a Pakistani actor taunting Indian shows.
No offence meant.

I am not defending those stupid indian shows they are not worth watching. And i am not taking her comment as a pakistani actor taunting indian shows. I am saying Zee zindagi is providing the so far best shows of pakistan not all shows. So they should compare the best pak shows with best indian shows only not all shows. The good indian shows like Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai can't be ignored while doing these comparisons. Just my views..no offence to anyone.

But that's exactly what she is saying. She said that she grew up with Ekta shows, which were much, much more popular than other good shows, and became the face for Indian television. She obviously finds them unrealistic, who doesn't?
Shows like Sarabhai, Rishta.com, Remix and others have never been half as popular as these shows. Indian television, is known for Ekta shows more than anything else. Till now Indian television has negative connotations because of their unrealistic themes. Look at the top TRP gainers too. All/most of them are bad. And logically, they are the shows which represent the industry. Also she clearly mentions that she saw a few while growing up, shows like Sarabhai and others were more recent and came out when we were growing up. Star one was not even popular in India, let alone in any other country. So, she obviously speaks from her knowledge of watching star plus and stuff.
She is not saying their shows are better. She just said that growing up, she didn't find Indian television realistic. That's quite valid, IMO.

The fact is also that these shows, however bad they are in characterizations and OTT everything, they are still very popular here.
Lets not forget that we have also had TV shows based on novels and limited episodes in the 80s and 90s and we "evolved"😲 to these soaps which became hugely popular. There are tons of people who are watching Zindagi now at primetime but haven't quit watching the other sagas they are addicted to on Star plus and Sony. Lot of people now watch those on repeat, others record it on DTH and watch later.
That said, the TRP claims here are even more confused now.😆 (Like Taran Adarsh statements! 😆 )
Coming back to the interview, I think though she has a point, I can see how people might not be impressed with it. Many of our film stars go to Pak for events or even are quoted talking about Pak entertainment here. They are always full of praise for their talent and their work. If along with their praise, they said something like "yes, so and so stuff is really good, but you know we are also as good here or better in that" it might not make a very good read for the Pakistanis.
