From the 1st performance I felt like something is amiss then Maks told them "you don't dance like a couple" then it was clear to me, there is individuality.
Tushar is an outstanding underrated choreographer but may be having a strong dance partner he is also taking it safe. And also her "abhinaya" department is weak, in all her performance she does not lack expression but the kind of acting which is needed is not there which makes the act a posture game.

BINGO...totally agree with this...the whole act ends up becoming only a series of postures and lifts...the ability to hold an audience with your body language and expressions...that is lacking...the special kind of acting needed during dancing as you said.

i am also agreeing..
after being her fan since dance india dance days..now days i don't find her dances at that level..
she's in her safe boundry..
nd yeah like mukasim said i fin'd tushar and shakti's chemistry zero...in their perfomance i either found shakti or tushar never both of them..
so honestly this season m not at all routing for her..

I dunno what Shakti really learnt when she went abroad, yaar...seems like it was just ballet...and I don't think ballet was what she needed to grow OVERALL...like she needs more VARIETY to grow as a dancer...she was anyways strong in contemporary...yeah she could polish it up but she needs more energy and PERFORMANCE on stage than just basic technique.

I can't help but think of Lauren again and again...I mean look at how that girl learnt things SO alien to her when she came here...but what SOUL she puts into every MINUTE movement also...just WOW...I'm sorry but I can't help but hold up Shakti to that standard now...and she's lacking there...a truly great dancer should never let go of her dancing SPIRIT...sadly Shakti is starting to get stuck in a rut😕.

This week looks SO weird, man...Actually only Ashish and Shakti are doing horror acts but the theme for the week overall looks really dumb...all this song mismatch stuff they are doing is just😕...I mean puppet dance on "nagada sang dhol" by Mouni🤔😆

I guess that is a problem with someone who is so trained. It becomes hard for them to get out of what they know..It's not true of all of them..like Lauren/Sushant/Terence, but seems to be an issue with Shakti.

Yess, she needs to become a performer again, not just a dancer like she is. Steps most people can learn..but soul not everyone can put in. The thing is we all know she is better than this. We know she has done better and is capable of more...so its sad when not only does she fall way short of her own standard but also the standard the show has previously set.

I'm comparing to Lauren too..who truly is one in a million passionate and versatile dancer. Shakti doesn't really compare...not so far at least.

Shakti's horror dance is on Ram Chahe Leela 🤣 Jhalak and its weird themes.

Bingo. Pointed it out in my first post.
She really needs training in mimic, better from some indian classical dancee, coz they r reputed for excellent mimic.
But expression r something that is also natural and comes from inside, not all of it can be taught. And thats why talent counts so much. These things cannot be learnt by practice or training.
Shakti must brusb her expressions

On Lauren: let us not go there. She is on a diff level and jhalak old seasons r not supposed to be discussed

Between shakti and Mouni, they exhausted entire ramleela album. Which one next I wonder.
Nagada song is too strong a song to be used for phppetry. I donno what they did but promo looked dance so less on eneegy because the song is so vibrant and strong and full of life.

Well said! I couldn't agree more. Tushar is a fabulous dancer. When he performs Indian styles, my eyes don't move from him. He is so graceful. I don't know about playing safe but I wish she does something different from contemporary and other non Indian forms. I understand she went and got trained in the US but that doesn't mean she should only follow that. I am tired of seeing the bias in JDJ. They appreciate acts that have a lot of poses and lifts etc calling it dance. In such a situation, non dancers like Sukhwinder Singh and the rest do not stand a chance because it already unfair to have them competing with professional dancers like Shakti who won a dance show.
