Disappointed in Shakti-Tushar so far. - Page 6

I just watched the Laal Ishq performance. The thing with Tushar-Shakti is that Tushar is a Chhau dancer while Shakti has contemporary training (which is equivalent to being flexible in our country. If you can split in the air, BAM you're a contemporary dancer ) and the resultant combination is that they're stuck in a congruent neighborhood of dance forms. Neither has the expertise to try something like, say, latin, hip hop or even bollywood for that matter.

I think the organizers need to go educate themselves about dance before they embark on a dance reality show venture. Shakti-Tushar pairing spells disaster from whichever way you look at it. She should have been paired with someone who has a different area of expertise, so that the choreographies could be a refreshing mixture of both.

Now all we will get to see are different permutations of the same mish mash of chhau and contemporary (or so they like to believe) to the point that the viewers will either begin to epitomize them as descendants of Natraj or pull their hair out in frustration. The judges will continue to shower 40s along the way because there is obviously no fault in their dancing. -_-

You do have a point regarding both their fortes...Tushar with Chau and Shakti with contemporary...that said, they did pull off that tango on Kamli so clearly they are capable of more if they try...but their tuning is off...too much focus on the MECHANICS rather than managing to bring FEEL to the act.

Also is it just me or does anyone else feel like Shakti hunches her shoulders while dancing? 😕...I've noticed it a few times now in JDJ.

Interesting how in the beginning she says she's struggling with the expressions and emoting being in love with Amar. Terence magic is toh always there...for a lot of them...weirdly enough season 2 more than season 1,,,but that's another topic. 😆 She definitely has it in her; I just hope it comes out sooner than later. I'd hate to see her be another Isha 🥱 It's just so weird to see Shakti be MECHANICAL.

Oh this was all TERENCE, Himani...Terence, through and through...he got this out of them...pushed them to it...not slighting Shakti and Amar's hard work here cuz they continued to give good performances outside of their association with Terence also but Shakti isn't being able to capture this spirit in JDJ with Tushar...it does seem like despite all the hype, these two weren't suited to each other...individually great dancers...together, not so much...Another Isha...oh God😆...yeah I never thought I'd see Shakti just going through the motions...she's capable of more than that...isn't she?

However, with regards the judges' marks, i think the problem is with the judges.. they don't know how to rate performances. Shakti certainly does not deserve 40 if you see her performance in isolation. But when I see Akhshat, Mouni -- they are getting 40, i think, Shakti deserved more than 40.

Yeah I agree completely. And I feel the same that she needs to improve her expressions. BIG time.

Oh my God, i wanted to post the same thing today but you did it, yes Shakti is lacking, she is such an amazing dancer but she is not pulling herself enough.
From the 1st performance I felt like something is amiss then Maks told them "you don't dance like a couple" then it was clear to me, there is individuality.
Tushar is an outstanding underrated choreographer but may be having a strong dance partner he is also taking it safe. And also her "abhinaya" department is weak, in all her performance she does not lack expression but the kind of acting which is needed is not there which makes the act a posture game.

I know it was all Terence Anu, but I miss this..Of course they ARE capable of bringing out this spirit... if they atkeast know what to improve, if they try harder. We've seen both of them have it before so it's not even like they have always danced mechanically. It's just they need to blend together. Hopefully things improve..warna I'd never imagine ki din itne bure honge where SHAKTI is just another Isha. 😒 😆 It's so weird, Shakti has kept up with her dancing since then..she went abroad to learn more too...and I'm not seeing anything.

LOL good point about Amar being untrained at that point, thus making it easier for them to be moulded TOGETHER by Terence...in this case, Tushar is also very well trained and SET in his ways since many years...One of them has to step back...and ideally it should be Shakti cuz she is the contestant, not the choreographer here...but I guess Shakti is too SHAKTI to even KNOW how to step back😆...I mean look at the acts Tushaar got out of untrained people like Ekta and Sana...clearly he has that calibre but Shakti is not being able to give him what he needs...they both just STAND STRONG in their STANCES and go through the motions of every act.

I dunno what Shakti really learnt when she went abroad, yaar...seems like it was just ballet...and I don't think ballet was what she needed to grow OVERALL...like she needs more VARIETY to grow as a dancer...she was anyways strong in contemporary...yeah she could polish it up but she needs more energy and PERFORMANCE on stage than just basic technique.

I can't help but think of Lauren again and again...I mean look at how that girl learnt things SO alien to her when she came here...but what SOUL she puts into every MINUTE movement also...just WOW...I'm sorry but I can't help but hold up Shakti to that standard now...and she's lacking there...a truly great dancer should never let go of her dancing SPIRIT...sadly Shakti is starting to get stuck in a rut😕.

This week looks SO weird, man...Actually only Ashish and Shakti are doing horror acts but the theme for the week overall looks really dumb...all this song mismatch stuff they are doing is just😕...I mean puppet dance on "nagada sang dhol" by Mouni🤔😆
