Hey guys, I'm new to JDJ Forum :)
I want ask something about Shakti and Salman. Both are winners from DID, then why Salman came as choreographer and Shakti as contestant? Okay, so Shakti is the lead in a serial and did 2 items songs, but she is a winner of a dance show same as Salman, and the viewers saw that she is not a "little trained in contemporary" but she has mastered that form of dance.

Any clarifications on what is the basic difference between these two past winners of DID?

another one on shakti...
okay so i will keep it simple nd straight..though it was unfair of bringing in trained dancer bt its a tradition now from so many seasons...
abt shaks nd salman...yes both are winners bt shakti is doing daily soap from 2011 so well known actress nd nt 2 bt 4 songs...along with an album title track..dat too along with salman...
salman on the other hand was a choreo first in jdj later was an actor of ABCD..they cant change him frm choreo to celeb right ???
little trained in contempory...i found sarcasm here..so...
evryone knows she is trained in contempory bt saying fully trained is a lie too..coz she knows just indian contempory nd nt the whole one...she had a diploma in indian contempory thats it...

No, that's because Salman became popular after JDJ, not before JDJ unlike Shakti. Channel will not allow him to participate as a contestant because he has been an established choreographer of the show already. His and Lauren's elevated status as challengers pretty much establish his popularity, and I don't think he will be back to the show to be a choreographer again. He came as a celebrity participant on KKK too.
Yes, Shakti should not have said that, but then Isha, too, said something like she didn't know much about dancing, so it's a basic trend.
Yes, bringing in people like Lauren or shakti is definitely unfair to the non-trained people. But what is more unfair is the show's format itself, that is, the decision to eliminate people based on their insane fanbase. That is worse than the trained-non trained dancer debate.

Edit- So, in every Colors interview videos, Shakti has been saying the same thing. That she is a well-trained dancer. So I would cut her some slack in the "little trained" issue. Yes, she should have phrased it better, but no point in worrying anyway. I would much rather see good dancing than average dancing by struggling dancers ( read Nach Baliye). Also, JDJ revolves around choreographers and not celebrity contestants. People who think celebrities are more important, think wrong.

I'm not concerned about trained dancers like Isha, Lauren or even now Shakti. And next year, there will be another trained dancer.
But the bottom line is that both Shakti and Salman are winners of a dance show, and it you can see most of the choreographers on JDJ are from DID, so it is a bit unfair to these people as well. Fair enough that in terms of popularity that Shakti achieved a lot, but I firmly believe that she should have been a choreographer, rather than a contestant.

^^ Yes, that would have been good. I do not disagree. But yeah, I suppose she preferred being a contestant? Because let's face it, choreographers hardly get enough appreciation for their brilliance and hard work unlike contestants.
And she also has a well-sized fanbase unlike any other DID dancer because of the TV show, so she is putting it to good use.

Beacuse this isnt fair game. They better if put Shakti as choreographer, since she is that.

It is for the production house to decide whom to bring in as a celebrity vs choreographer. Salman had been a part of JDJ for a couple of seasons before he became a celeb. Yes, the channel could have put him as a celeb last season but then it is their judgement or should I say whims and fancies.

This Idea of shakti participating in dancing show is very stupid. Honestly It is unfair to other contestants. Im probably going to get bashed for this. But I don't care. Shakti should have been a choreographer. I mean this is ridiculous. Obviously the other dancers will not even match up to her because they are not trained and have not won a dancing show.. Next season either salman or punt or other choreographers should come as contestants. They get famous as well.. By all means very unfair.
