Bollywood in politics - any work done?

Hordes of people from Bollywood join politics, contest and even win elections. But what is their track record? How have they performed? Any substantial work done?

And they don't even undergo the same scrutiny that politicians do..things like NaMo's marriage and Sonia's citizenship become election issues(unnecessarily if I may add)..Hema Malini and Shatrughan Sinha are never questioned about their shady pasts..

Sunil Dutt and I guess recently Javed Akhtar who got a bill passed on rights of artists on their work.

I doubt they have done anything substantial..Its more like an alternate source of career where they can stay in the limelight..Check this out-

I think the state of Rajya Sabha MPs are the worst..On what basis did these ppl even select Sachin & Rekha? Especially when the former was active & still playing for the country?😆 Apparently Rekha hasn't bothered to even adopt a district 😆

I wondered the same?

Also another thing I didn't understand why Hema Malini was elected from Mathura? Has she done any work for the place?

Also, I agree with you..Most of them are based in Mumbai..so they can't do any real work for their constituency..their attendance in the Parliament is abysmally low

It's sad that the country is so star struck that most of them win

Shatrughan keeps getting elected again and again. Is it because of the work he has done?

Among the BW types I guess Jaya B is the only one who is a bit serious about politics compared to her female peers. Then there is Smriti Irani who is a lot more serious but she cant be counted among BW folks.

Its actually unfair to compare Smriti with these folks cos she is bloody brilliant..It shows that she is actually interested and not here for the limelight or to vile away time..These actresses probably cant string more than two lines in Arnab's show..Not like he is awesome but he is known to ask annoying questions and provoke the guest..Smriti actually managed him really well..That was like the first time i realized this woman is intelligent😆

Smriti cannot be compared to others. She focused totally on politics ever since she entered the fray. She has learnt tricks of the trade and made progress quite rapidly. I agree even I found her intelligent only after seeing her stint as a true blue politician. Other filmy ones look like dumbos in front of her.
