Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who despite sincere attempts failed to quit smoking himself, will now encourage public to kick the butt in a short film.

Ranbir has decided to be part of a film that talks about the harmful effects of smoking, to be made by an association that works for cancer patients.

A leading daily quoted a source as saying, "The short film will endorse the benefits of being a non-smoker. The details are being worked out and he is happy to be part of a good cause."

The actor has earlier too lent his support several to social causes. He was seen encouraging the youth to vote, in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

I hope all these celebrity smokers like Ranbir and Shahrukh would atleast stop smoking publicly...If u can't stop smoking totally atleast try not to smoke where the whole world can watch...especially the young ones...
