Hey,
GD show cases many different aspects of life with themes of love, trust, social norms, acceptance of tradition, and of limits within these tightly grouped sub structures.

This story line still applies just as much outside India for people of Indian origin. Length of stay away from home has no bearing. We hear on a regular basis of honour killings here in the UK. apart from social standing the caste system even in 2014 is active and thriving. For a hindu boy to want to marry a muslim or christian girl, even if of Indian origin is still a big deal. Yes there are many exceptions but invariably those that do leave that tightly knit social society behind.

Enough of the serious stuff... today's episode showed a glint of maturity on Nik's part, thanks God.

I sort of liked angry inder, i liked it when he said that everything that is happening is by his (nikhil's) will so what the hell is wrong with him now. nikhil needs shaking up. but actually what nikhil did was sensible. inder's reasons were weak like him. he can't think for himself. he didn't even try to talk to and understand his son.
