Part 8 Arjun was back to meet her in her dancing class a week later. This time she was busy teaching a group of small girls between the age of 7-10. When the watchman tried to stop him from entering the area saying, "Sorry Sir...The girls class is going on...You can't go in...come later" all that needed was his glaring eyes, frowned brows and his pursed lips that said. "The teacher here is my friend...All am I going to do is see" and if anything else was to be said by the watchman further on, Arjun didn't care. His bodyguards were there to take care of it. Arjun walked to a window and saw her, wearing a baby pink churidar, hairs tied in a pig tail, dupatta crossing over her chest before being tied at the side. One of the strands from front was tucked behind her ears. There was no makeup on her skin but like always, she was still looking the most beautiful and elegant. She was explaining a kathak step to a girl. The girl tried to mimic it but failed; Arohi didn't lose her patience and once more and again till the little girl get it. Arjun just adored the sight when she hugged her. The smile on her face was
Arjun simply adored her happy, full of joy face. She was just looking like the Arohi, he used to know before. Carefree, chirpy. He sighed. How life changes a person, is unpredictable. The bell rang, making the tired girls feels jumpy once again and after hooting and taking hold of their bags, they rushed towards the exit. Arohi laughed to see their reaction as she unknotted the duppata from around her waist and put that in her neck, before she wrapped up her bag. "Yesterday, If you amazed me with your dance, today I am awestruck with the way you teach. From where you get so much patience?" He startled her once again as she turned to look at him, before zipping up her bag and stood up straight. "There is no use to lose patience if you want to make someone learn something...Anger just discourages them" She said and Arjun agreed. "By the way, how come you are here...Men not allowed in this section during classes" She raised her brow as he bit his lip and scratched his temple. "I have my ways...beside I want to take you out on a coffee and have a chat..." He gave her a full smile that shines in his eyes too. She remembered what just Rashi told him day before about Arjun in their small discussion.
They were sitting in the cold atmosphere of the cafe. The smell of latte, cappuccino, hot chocolate...freshly baked bread...brownies; sandwiches...all were mixed in the air, making it intoxicating. "So how was your life? After uncle aunty, it must be so hard..." She kept on looking down while moving the spoon in her coffee. Arjun took a sip to wet his lips before he looked up at her and nodded. "Yeah, It was...I wasn't mentally prepared for this...No one was...But we stood up for our own self...I wasn't allowed to feel weak as I had Rashi to took care off...and you know what kind of relatives I had" Arohi nodded silently as Arjun remembered the events. "Thanks to Mr. Khanna, Aryan's father...He used to work with my father...took up our responsibility...He taught me about business...As I turned 18, I was the legal guardian of Rashi and I took over the hotel business. Study, taking care of Rashi, taking care of business wouldn't have been easy if Aryan and his family wouldn't have helped. But..." He looked at her while leaning forward. "I missed you Arohi..." He was showing his heart in his eyes when he said that. Arohi for once was lost in his eyes. His voice held that sincerity that was captivating. "Have you missed me?" He asked in emotions. Seeing her looking away, he got that he had embarrassed her so he quickly added. "I mean us, me and Rashi" The hope in his eyes shine as she looked up at him and nodded. "I had...I had missed you both every day of my life till now". He gave a heart taking smile as he indulged her in other discussions but soon everything turned upside down. "So what's new in your life?" S
But just a half an hour later, all that happiness, he was feeling before just washed away as anger shook his body all through the drive back home. He had abruptly left the cafe as soon as she uttered those heart breaker words. "Fianc...to hell with him" He mumbled under his breath while taking a sharp turn. "His name is Aniket. He is also a teacher in this same dance school. Being from a middle class family, he respects elders and like me for what I am...Grandpa also approved of him and got us engaged few months back. Right now he is off to a dance competition that is going on in Chandigarh. He and his partner, Mithali were the only two selected from Darjeeling to represent." For once all his aim, his efforts, his passion to work hard and find Arohi was looking fruitless. That's surly wasn't in his mind when he came here. Screeching, he stopped the car at the side of a road, barely escaping it to get on the footpath beside. His concentration was lost but thank God, there wasn't much traffic on the road. Cursing himself, he ran angry fingers through his hairs before again driving back to home.
The harsh opening and closing of the door took the three people, sitting in the main hall, by a surprise. They were on their feet before Arjun walked briskly passed them. But they all felt his anger. "Someone has messed up badly" Aryan muttered. "Go and talk to him". Rajveer asked Rashi who nodded and left to go upstairs, making her mind ready to see a devastated room like always. But the scene that greeted her view was totally different from what she expected. Arjun was looking out from the window with a grim expression on his face. "Bhai..." She called him while approaching carefully. "She is engaged...She is engaged Rashi" He whispered with sad eyes before fire took hold in there. "How could she? How dare someone kept an eye on her" Rashi, who was about to put a comforting hand on his shoulder, took a step back seeing the anger as he suddenly turned to her. "I have been looking for her from years... I have been yearning for her form years Rashi...How can God make me suffer like this in the end... I had loved her all through my life" Pained, he again turned and took hold of the rail tightly. "But Bhai..." Rashi gulped her saliva as she spoke. "No Rashi...No...I willn't let that happen. She is MINE. And she will be MINE..." He promised. "What will you do?" "We willn't wait anymore. Day after tomorrow, we are going to act on our plan. No more beating about the bush. She will be my wife at the end of this week. That's it". His verdict was out. His voice seemed strong but this sister understood whats going on inside of him. Seeing him in pain really made her suffer too. All of these years, Rashi always feared this. But Arjun was always confident of his love. He believed blindly that if his love is pure and strong, Arohi would be no one but HIS. Making Arjun think the right way and reconsider his decision was an impossible task. She needed to do something. She had to alert Arohi. Yes that's what she need to do
But Arjun knew her sister and somehow had read her intentions so all through the next day, the bodyguards were hovering over her, keeping an eye on her every act. Rashi was seriously frustrated till the next afternoon. Rajveer amd Aryan come to know of Arjun change of plans and the reason behind it, they reacted just like Rashi but infront of Arjun, no one dared raise the voice. So by the end of the evening, Arjun, Rashi, Rajveer and Rashi were all ready to leave for Sharma Mansion. Mr. Akshay Sharma was already informed of their visit. "Bhai, think once again" Rashi warned but Arjun just glared and tucking his hands in his dark green smooth business pants, lead them out.
On the other hand, Arohi was once again instructed to cook a full fledged relished meal for tonight but all through the time, her mind kept on drifting back to the event last day. "I don't know what happened to Arjun". As soon as she had told him about her fiance, he left the cafe the next instant, leaving her all flabbergasted. Their she was thinking to catching up with her friend and here he left her at once, in a pool of thoughts. The burning smell of food brought her out from her thoughts as she stir it and get back to prepare it.
"Grandpa, What do you think? Why he is suddenly visiting us with his friends?" Shaina asked worriedly while playing with end of her hairs. She was dressed up in a light green crisp top with white pants and was all ready to greet the guests. Akshay leave a mouthful of smoke in the air after taking a deep suck from cigar while looking out from his room's window. "That's what making me worried too..." "He was roaming around with you from last few days...wasn't he?" Akshay asked and Shaina nodded in reply. "Yes". "Haven't you caught any hint what he might be thinking off?" Shaina nodded her head in No. "Hmm...Then I hope its something good coming to us" Akshay wished. On the other hand, Arjun took off his earpiece after hearing Shaina-Akshay converstaion. "There surly something better coming for Sharma mansion..." He thought and looked out, taking a deep sigh.
The anxiousness was prevailing in the atmosphere as all took their seats after saying hellos. "It was a great surprize, I tell you. We are so glad that you joined us tonight on the dinner" Akshay said happily while putting a hand around her grand daughter and grand father and grand daughter shared a known smile. Arjun smirked. "As if your darling grand daughter cooked herself for us" Arjun thought bitterly but kept a smile plastered on his face. "We all had a very important discussion to do with you Mr. Sharma" Arjun took their attention. Rashi and Rajveer shared uncertain looks in between themselves while Aryan and Arjun gauged Akshay reaction which was as expected, thoughtful and confused."About what?"... "Can we talk alone somewhere Mr. Sharma?" Akshay thought for a moment before standing up and looked down at Shaina who looked at him with wary. "Rashi, Rajveer, why dont you guys give company to Shaina while me and Aryan have our discussion" Arjun said as Rashi nodded. Rajveer was already been instructed by Arjun to not let Rashi go anywhere near to Arohi while they are in Sharma mention. And no matter how stuck Rajveer felt between these brother and sister, he had promised Arjun. Rashi had already discussed her plan as how she is gonna alert Arohi before hand, by making an excuse to go to bathroom when They will be in Sharma house and that had made it an easy taak. As they went in, Rashi stood up but Rajveer held his hand tightly. Rashi looked at him confusingly as he motioning her to sit down with his eyes. "What happened Rashi?" Shaina asked quickly. "Actually...I ...Can I get a glass of water?" Shaina nodded and left as Rashi glared at Rajveer while sitting down with a thump. "Why haven't you let me go?" She asked irritatingly. "Cause your brother know you too much. He had already anticipated that you will do something like this and made me promise to stop you..." Rashi just ran her hand through her silky black hairs. "I don't want to see Arohi suffering Rajveer. What if her engagement was a result of her wish? What if she really like this fiance of her...Due to bhai's stubbornness, I don't want that Arohi's last dream, last hope of a happy ever after die away. How could she love bhai when she is already in love with someone?" Rashi whispered to Rajveer in aggression. She wanted to ask Arohi if she love his fianc or it is just an alliance made by her grandfather?. Rajveer put a comforting hand over her and squeezed it. "Believe me, I know what you meant, but who can stop Arjun once he fix his target...In between us, you know him the most" "I wish I had known him. I always thought my brother willnt hurt someone emotionally." Shaina's footsteps quickly made Rashi compose herself as she came and gave her the glass of water. "Are you ok Rashi?" She was genuinely concerned. Rashi gulped down a sip and put a forced smile on her face. "Yes I am".
"Take the seats gentlemen" Akshay said as he led them into the study room of his house. Aryan looked around the exquisite furnishing while Arjun eyes were just fixed on Mr. Sharma. "You want some drinks?" He asked motioning towards the small bar set in the corner. "No thank you" Arjun replied. "May be you can bring some celebratory drink later on" Aryan smirked to see Akshay stop in his tracks and looking at them with a bewilder expression. "Celebratory drinks? But ...for what?" Aryan winked at Arjun who tried to hide his smile. "Please take a seat Mr. Sharma." As they all settle down, Arjun entwined his fingers, putting his elbows on his thighs while leaning forward. "We have a proposal for you?" Arjun started carefully. His words were pronounced slowly but had a rigid attitude behind. "What proposal?". Arjun looked at Mr. Sharma with the eyes of a hunter, looking at his pray and at the moment, he was sure that his pray will definitely fell into his trap. "I want to marry Shaina" As he said, Akshay's face depicted the emotions of surprise, happy and ecstatic "Really" he almost cried but how could Arjun let him smile when Akshay was always the cause of Arohi's tears. "But...We have a condition" And that was enough to dampen Akshay's happiness. "What condition?". Arjun smirked and patted Aryan's knee while speaking. "This brilliant friend of mine will get to marry your other grand-daughter...Arohi" Akshay stood up in anger. "WHAT?" "This can't happen...Arohi is already engaged...And what kind of a comparison you are doing between my granddaughter, my blood, Shaina to that Arohi" He spitted. No matter how much Arjun always prepare himself mentally for his meeting with Akshay beforehand, these taunts always boil his blood. But he had to bear just for that same Arohi, he got to bear these for now. Aryan saw him controlling himself. His knuckles had turned white with the force, he was holding his fingers to unengaged themselves and leave a huge blow on Akshay's face so he decided to control the situation. "She is only engaged Mr. Sharma" Aryan stood up and corrects his coat before he looked back in Akshay's eyes. "But they can be break. Arjun likes Shaina and I like Arohi. Even after being married twice I couldn't find a good partner who could understand me. They both were money chaser but in Arohi, I can see a dedicated wife who can be with me irrespective of what I am.. At the end of the day, I can count on her support rather than to see her off to a stupid kitty party." Aryan explained. "But..." Akshay started to speak off once again but Arjun cut him this time. "No, No, no Mr. Sharma...either they both are going to marry us or none. Just think Mr. Sharma...What will people say when they will see that one granddaughter is getting married in a well off family and other in a middle class. For sure they will say that Arohi was not your own blood so you just tried to get her burden off from your shoulder. And you very well know how hungry the society and media is for gossip. Surly, such kind of gossip is not very healthy for a businessman like you...isn't it?" Arjun persistent ways seems to work as Akshay appeared to be thoughtful. "Take a day Mr. Sharma to think about as we want these marriages to take place around this weekend because we cant stay here much more than that. Our business needs us...and if we leave empty handed this time, we willn't come back here ever". With that Arjun nodded at Aryan as they both moved towards the door, leaving a thoughtful Akshay behind but as the door opened, they were shocked to see Arohi standing outside holding a tray with juice glasses. Two fat tears rolled down her cheeks that clearly indicated that she had heard everything. Arjun kicked himself mentally for a moment when she looked at him with accusing eyes before leaving in a rush. He sighed and closed his eyes. His fingers were tightly closed in a fist that shows how much control he was practicing. Aryan hand came on his shoulder to show his silent support. "She will understand it Arjun...She will". But Arjun knew that it will take a long time before the things will fall into its place.
