Ragini MMS 2 Opening Day Box Office Collections

Ragini MMS 2 has taken the third highest opening of 2014, after Jai Ho and Gunday. The combination of horror, sex and chartbuster music has worked big time with the audience - both at single-screens and surprisingly even at high-end multiplexes.

Like Balaji's last release Shaadi Ke Side Effects, Ragini MMS 2 competes against two cricket matches on its opening day and Sunday (India vs West Indies).

While the Indo-Pak match did affect business 7PM onwards, the morning and noon shows were super strong which helped the film collect around Rs 8.5 crore on Day 1.

However, the reports from theatres is mixed to negative and the morning shows on Saturday had lower occupancy compared to Friday. But given the opening that the film has taken, the first weekend figures is almost certain to be around the 25 crore mark, which is outstanding.

Ragini MMS 2 is Sunny Leone's biggest opener to date, ahead of her first release Jism 2 which collected 7.5 crore on Day 1.

Sunny Leone is a superstar!

No two ways about it. Yes she's a former po*nstar and all that jazz. But other than deepika and Katrina, there's no other actress who can make a film open like Sunny.

As much as I like Sunny, I think its important to understand that the opening has nothing to do with her, and everything to do with sex. If you look at Sunny's other movies they have opened poorly, but here its obvious its a sex show.

In the past lots of sex movies have worked like Neha Dhupia's Julie, Mallika Sherawat in her numerous movies.

She doesn't have the box office pull of Katrina or Deepika, because they have bo pull because they have actual fans, people are only going to see this one for the skin-show and sex lol, otherwise where were her fans in Jackpot the film barely earned 1 crore on opening day.
